OfficeJet 6500 requires the Toolbox

My client has a MFP (ink jet) of color Officejet 6500 printer - works fine under WIN/XP, with the CD I was able to install full features including the HP Toolbox, with which it will display the level of ink and the printer alignment/Calibration, User als was able to perform services such as 'a cleaning of the nozzles' print head etc.

Now, they moved their computers to WIN 7 (64-bit) and after you apply the WIN7 driver downloaded from the Internet, printing works fine BUT I can't locate the HP Toolbox to perform printer maintenance services.

The user wants to receive ink level to display well printhead cleaning & calibration.

Can you help me to provide me with direction please?

A response from the HP forum said to download the HP K550 Toolbox, I tried, but it came up saying: 'can't use Tool Box because HP K500 driver is not installed!'

Thank you

I'm sorry I miss read what you said in the first post. You can certainly get the full driver package. I'll link below. Because it looks like you have the installed base driver right now, all you have to do is download and run the installation. Rather than install everything, it should ask you what you want to install. Install the digital imaging monitor, OCR by IRIS and Solution Center. Solution Center will be the Toolbox, and the other two will expand your scanning options. If something is not going to try to install software, uninstall the printer from the computer and try again. Let me know what happens.

  • HP OfficeJet 6500: Is the color cartridge to print in black?

    Hello

I had a brother printer which required that there is ink in the color cartridges even if I only wanted to print in black.  Is the HP Officejet 6500 in the same way?  Is it necessary that it be ink cartridges color, even though I'm only printing in black ink only?

    Thank you

Yes, he does. And it is only to prevent the nozzles of ink on the printheads of evaporation, resulting in poor print quality when you decide to print in color.

  • Printer Officejet 6500 misses the beginning of photography on thick photo paper

I have an all-in-one officejet 6500 (E709a). My office is running Win7. I felt for a year or two and initially he printed on paper photo well, but he does NO more.

I use a kirkland photo paper, professional glossy inkjet paper, and it says on the box of paper in that it is 69 lb 255 g/m2, 10.4 mil 8.5x11. From what I could read in the HP specifications, 255 g/m2 is supported (I think I saw it supports up to 260 or above), but has not seen a specification for the thickness. In any case, at the beginning, when it was new - it worked. Now, it's bad causign.

\When I print a pidcture, say printing full page and I remplir fill in the printer menu, select "printing photos with white frame" the size of the paper, mentio0n it of "another photo book" and ask for the 'best' quality, and I put a (also tried to put more) page, sometimes it won't pull the paper in all, and sometimes it starts pulling on the paper after the head already done a few scans which means that the image loses almost a full inch of his debut.

What can I do? of course, work with plain paper I have no problem, and if I go to 'best' to normal, my success rate is improving but is still far from perfect.

Y at - it cleaning to do? some rolls must be replaced? or what? It is VERY frustrating that the printer cannot handle these quality papers as it should!

  • I have Mozilla Ffox on a Dell Vostro Desktop computer, connected to a HP-Officejet 6500. The printer prints internal drive, but don't print Web sites. The printer ejects only a single sheet of blank paper.

The version of Firefox 4.0.1 and Windows 7 operating system are
    correctly identified below.
Still, my printer prints not websites, including Yahoo mail. The printer seems to respond to Web sites, but only ejects a single sheet of blank paper when printing is initialized.

Just to be sure, everything is covered:

    1. Reset you all the preferences of print.printer , as indicated in brackets in step 2, who were in "BOLD", not only print.print_printer preference?
    2. You you exit Firefox (Firefox button > exit OR file > exit, if you use the Menu bar), and then wait a few seconds and restart Firefox before testing the change according to step 4?
    3. I have a HP 6200 series. Don't forget, if yours is a multifunction printer that you have NOT enabled the fax (i.e., "HP Officejet 6200 series" NOT 'HP Officejet 6200 series fax') in the name field of the printer on the screenshot (CTRL + P).

  • HP Officejet 6500 has the IP changes automatically

I have a HP 6500 has more connected to a network using a router Netgear WNR 2000. The IP address of the printer continues to return automatically to one that is not compatible with the network. So, I can't print wireless.  HP technicians have tried to solve the problem but eventually says I need to replace the router. It is two years old. Is it possible to get the system to stay connected, that is compatible with existing equipment?  How?

What IP address it back?  If its 169.254.x.x, this means that it is disconnected from the network and cannot re - connect.

    We will do this:

-On the front of the printer: configuration > network > network by default.

-In this same network menu, run the Wireless Setup Wizard to connect to your network.

Now, let's set an IP address of the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). Yours is all high-end (.2 a.254.  We will use 192.168.1.220 for your printer.
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.

-For the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for the second use.
    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that, you will have to redo 'Add printer' using the new IP address.

  • OfficeJet 6500 Gets the IP address of the router wired

I have a new 6500.  When I connect the ethernet cable to my router and print the configuration of the network (set to auto) it shows the configuration of the link as "None".  Thinking it is maybe a bad router port, I introduced to my NAS port work.  I tried to install the drivers on my Vista64 and XP32 PC ethernet and neither detects the network printer.  The USB connection installs OK, but if I can't get the wired network connection to work, I'll have to return for another printer.  Help, please...

OB - it was that HP provided ethernet cable.  Exchanged with one of my friends and the printer got an IP address.  Heck if I don't replace it all first.  Thanks a lot for your answer.

  • LG 815 / OfficeJet 6500 E710n -: the Android Plugin Printing Service

I downloaded and installed the latest version of the HP printer for the Android Plugin. Google play shop.  Also, I downloaded and installed the HP All In One application for the Android from the game store.  I can scan FROM the printer to the tablet.  The Tablet, I can access the printer and print network, printer, reports etc.  When I try to print from the Tablet I can select the HP printer and it shows that she's trying to print via the downloaded plugin.  He does everything except printing.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you.

Thanks for the suggestion, but after about 6 hours of research and testing, I found the solution of the problem.  On the printer, I went into Setup/web services and reset the value of webservice to the default value of the factory. I was then able to print from my android phone and the android tablet.

  • OfficeJet 6500 e710n: my can´t officejet 6500 detect the wifi router, expire after 20 minutes of searching. The network works

    Hello

I connected to a router Thomson lapttop two stand-alone and two desktop PC wifi printers. As I can connect to the web

and surf without problem that the router seems to work at least partially.

The problem is that printers will not find the router, when I try to configure the printers in the control panel printers, they are looking for the router, but they do not find the wifi (router) connection. After 20 minutes, they then expire without something else facilities worked very well before.

I called the support to my ADSL provider and they remotely reset the router to factory settings initial but it helps. didn t have tried to turn off the router, printer and laptop computers and then started the router, printers and portable - the same problem. I think that the problem is not in the printers that I have the same problems on both printers.

Can it be a partial problem with the router, I find that it is unlikely that the problem lies in the printers, because they took place att simultaneously.

It is a mystery to me and any suggestions are appreciated.

    Bo

    Hello

It seems more likely that the question is based in your router as the problem affects two different printers.

For troubleshooting end please move the printer near the router, but not too close... 2-3 meters would be at an ideal distance for testing.

If you don't see the router yet, may is a Dual Band router?

    It broadcasts at 2.4 GHz?

Pleae also run a Test report wireless one of the printer, it may help to get a better understanding.

In the Configuration Menu, select network, go search for Wireless Test report.

If you can join an analysis of the results of the tests, it would be great.

    Kind regards

In the fax and printers, window, please right click on the printer icon and click Cancel all documents. Right-click on the printer icon, and then click Properties. • How to connect to the HP Officejet 6500 wireless printer

I recently bought the printer portable officejet 6500 from costco. Initially, I have it connected via a USB port on my laptop and follow the instructions in the CD. I also activated the wireless to the printer. Now, I'm trying to connect to the printer from my office laptop. I have not installed anything on my office laptop. I went into Control Panel, printers and tried to add this printer. I'm assuming that, given that the printer is already selected for the wireless, I thought that I'll be able to see that when I add a printer. When I tried to add the printer its asking me a URL. I tried to get the printer Network Setup page portable officejet 6500, but the URL does not work. I need to install the CD that came with the printer portable officejet 6500 on my offcelaptop to make it work? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

@hanleyn, I'd be happy to help you with this problem.

You will need to go to your settings of the printer.

    1. Select network settings.

    2. Select the wireless configuration wizard

After perform you these steps, you need to get on the computer and to update the IP address. (It would occur on the printer on the Network Configuration Page).

    Then go to the computer.

    1. click on Start Menu

    2. Select all programs

    3 select the HP folder

    4. Select the name of the computer

    5. click on the IP ADDRESS UPDATE or wireless configuration.

    6. put the new ip address in the place.

  • Status.msi error with installation of the hp officejet 6500 E709n wireless

    It's frustrating.

"I tried to install a full print driver software for my portable printer wireless hp officejet 6500 E709n and even if I can complete the process, I get this error message: the component you are trying to use is on a network unavailable resource.

When I click 'OK', I get a "status: the path..." OK6500vE709_Full_14\setup\status\status.msi could not be found. »

I then get a third message that appears each time you start to the top of my computer hp laptop dv6871us: "Please wait while Windows configures the status.  And... It's constantly repeated ad nauseam.

How can I find the status.msi file and stop this endless loop of error messages?

    TX

Yes, it's very good information.  Thank you to be thorough to me.  I actually had this happen to me personally on my Windows XP and printer Photosmart older (different error message but even constant pop up).  I could easily (but a lot of time, I might add) fix my problem of:

    1. uninstall the printer from Add/Remove programs.

    2. run cleaning disc of all programs > Accessories > system tools > disk cleanup.

    3 restart the PC.

4 selection of a backup in CCleaner system option and then cleaning the registry using this tool. Click here and carefully read the reviews in CNET and opt to download the tool to see what I mean.

    5. restart the PC again.

    6. can download and install my printer on the site, but in your case, here are the drivers and the software feature full Officejet 6500 Wireless (the link is for the version of Windows 7 32-bit PC U.S.).

This can become very difficult at times, so I want to provide this very comprehensive document from HP which covers your exact error message and their favorite not to try.  Mine are a little easier but a 'tad - little' more risky because I provided a link to a specific 3rd registry part cleaner that you use at your discretion (there are others out there).  I like it because I can back up my system first in the case where that something else has been removed should not have been.  I don't have that happen, fortunately.  Please read this document as well just to be on the safe side.  I'm here to help (do not do worse) so let me know if I need to explain something better, but I think that you have everything you need here to start.

  • OfficeJet 6500 a +: firmware update

    Hello

I noticed that a number of updates have been released for my Officejet 6500 a + (the last from September 19, 2016). However, the printer is not find updates via the control panel of the product. In fact, the printer has never been updated since the first purchase a few years back.

I don't mind not to do via USB, but I was wondering if there is a reason that the printer itself does not recognize that there are new updates available, especially because HP recommends the update of devices in this way.

    I would appreciate any advice.

    See you soon!

You want never automatic updates takes place, never.   The update may cause problems with the printer.   Update you only if you are looking for and you decide that the update applies to a specific problem, you are seen, then update.    And never to it wireless.

  • OfficeJet 6500 and Mavericks

I upgraded to the Mavericks, when I got my new MacBook Pro last month. I just tried the printer connection and it's a no go. After HOURS of research... that website... I found these directions:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03967522

Unfortunately, I followed and uninstalled the HP software before installing the new software. Before I did, I was just messing around in the hope of finding a solution and I tried to re-adding the printer (you can see my computer) and he had the box 'USE', which had the name of the printer (Officejet 6500 blah blah) and AirPrint option two. Thinking that I didn't know as much as the official people who manufactured the product, I decided to search online before clicking on the name of the printer in the area USE and installation of the printer.

Now that I uninstalled the software by fashion, only AirPrint is available. I can't find Officejet 6500 in the area USE even if I click on some software. I tried AirPrint anyway and found that the computer says the printer is available for use but nothing to actually print and certainly nothing scans as it says there is no software for this product. I spent 2 hours on this site, try to find a solution at this point and I'm completely exasperated. Guess I'll have to analyze everything to work tomorrow.

Found the answer in the last 2 minutes...

Turn the printer power off and power on.
