Printer on a home group problem.

People have posted similar questions, so I'm sorry about adding it. But I can't seem to find my answer immediately.

I have a laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium. Printer Canon Pixma MP970 is connected by USB cable. I also have a Windows 8 Pro tablet running. I created a homegroup, hoping to be able to share files between the two and use my Tablet printer occasionally. File sharing works fine. However, I can not access the printer at all of the tablet. I followed all the installation instructions. Everything else works, but when I go in the settings of the Tablet homegroup, I never the installation of the printer option. I do not see the printer in printers and devices, and I can't access it from Word on my tablet. I also have Norton 360, but it allows so-called Microsoft network through its firewall. I left the homegroup and started from scratch. Nothing seems to help me access the printer shelf, any suggestions? Thank you.

I would point out that the problem is solved. Amazon is offering a sale on DVDs of Windows 8 Pro upgrade. For $80, it was worth upgrading my laptop for Windows 8. I decided to do a clean install. Well, now that it's done and my printer is installed on my laptop, I then left my old residential group and created a new. And here, I can now print my tablet. Getting the right printer driver took a little effort, but now it works.

    Hi Mike,.

Welcome to the Microsoft Community and thanks for posting the question.

According to the description, it seems that you are facing a problem while leaving the existing homegroup and the creation of a new group of residential.

This problem could be due to if there are files that are always shared with other computers.

I suggest to remove the network and then try to leave the homegroup and check if it helps.

    See the following Microsoft article:

  • Printer with Vista Home Premium problems

I'm having a terrible time getting my HP printer to work.  My daughter has disassembled the computer and back together.  Both have been done with my permission and supervision, BTW.  Connect the power supply of all equipment is fine, startup is very well, everything seems to work fine except my HP printer. He has not worked since the computer was disassembled and put back together.  Uninstalling and reinstalling both get hung up and won't be finished.  My HP printer will a the printer section in Device Manager.

HP told me to do all sorts of things, but none solves the problem.  I have disabled firewall during installation.  I disconnected my cable internet connection during the installation.  I had to delete some registry files that will not remove during uninstall.

I'm so frustrated that I took out an old Lexmark printer that will not install correctly.  The Lexmark printer for some reason any settles in the Device Manager in the section "other devices" with a question mark and will not create a section of the printer.  Then of course, it is not the printer.  There must be something else in Vista that I'm missing that prevents a correct installation.

The first day, I bought my HP printer, a 6310 all-in-one, my printer installed and worked fine.  Just did not work since my daughter put our computer together.

Our Hitachi DVD-rom will not quite work, either.  The music can be played, CDs and DVDs can be played, but burning does not work.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Patty

    Hi again Patty,

I have a few questions for you.  You said "Everything in the file zip, except the pilot, moved."  When you double-click on the zip file, an installation routine starts then, or is it just unzip the files somewhere?  If you look at these files, do you see any facility named, or any executable?  If so, double click on setup to start the installation.  If this is not the case when you are installing the printer via the Control Panel, select 'have disk', then access the dirctory files are uncompressed in and who should install the driver.

You mentioned that you did a restore of the system, but can return only 10 days.  Never has that take you back to this problem before?  For more than two weeks we last talk.

Updates can be removed through the Control Panel, programs, programs and features, view the updates installed (left).  Unless you're of course update you want to delete, I wouldn't get rid of them at random.

You can consider a reinstall of Windows Vista.  If the method above does not receive your printer doesn't work, then something is wrong or damaged.  The fact that this all started when you took the lid of the machine has always wonder if we also have a hardware problem. Brent

    Setting up a shared printer

"The most common way to make a printer available to a home network is traditionally to connect to one of the computers and then tell Windows to share it. This is called a shared printer.

The advantage of sharing a printer is that it works with any USB printer. Side tilted? The host computer must always be fed up, otherwise the rest of the network will not be able to access the shared printer. »

  • XP Pro fails route incoming faxes to a remote printer on XP Home

On an XP Pro system, I activated the fax in the fax service. I routed incoming faxes to a remote printer. The printer shared from a XP Home System. When a fax is successfully received, the fax is not printed. The fax remains in the queue of the fax in the task of routing service, and two messages appear in the application (attached) event log.
I can print the fax manually by clicking the fax and choose print. Because I can print manually, and because the fax service runs Local System not like me, I suspect it's a matter of how the printer is shared. But sharing printer on the XP Home system options are very limited: shared or non-shared.

  • Operation Failed, error 0 x 00000002 when you try to add printer on Vista Home Premium

WiFi printer (Kodak ESP 7 all-in-one) works very well for centuries. Had to do a system restore with my HP under Vista Home Premium laptop. Then the printer could not be detected. Removed from the printer. Downloaded latest driver from Kodak. When you try to add the new driver/printer, it gives me an error 0 x 00000002. Also just tried to add the printer in the printer browser window and does not see on the wi - fi network, even though I know that it is connected.  Kodak assures me that it's an OS problem. I know that the print spooler and dependencies are running. Have tried various solutions several times between reboots.
