  Well Yes, that's right.  The ink in the black cartridge is an ink pigment (about particles of carbon suspended in the solution) and cannot be absorbed by the photo paper.  The ink in the color cartridge is dye based (like dye food) and is absorbed by the coating on photo paper.  That is why all the printing with black cartridge is denied when using photo paper.

  Pigmented ink is used in the black cartridge to produce the beautiful crisp text on plain paper.  There are HP printers with cartridges 'Photo Black' which are ink to dye black which can be used on photo paper.  These printers also have a black text in another cartridge which is a pigmented ink.

  My apologies, I didn't know that your prints come out in blue print when you have a totally black cartridge. It is a problem of print quality with the printer or something in the settings of your computer.

  I suggest to try the steps in the guide below. You have already tried some troubleshooting, try so the steps that you have not yet tried, I understand:

  If you're still only able to print in blue (no black print), so I recommend you call HP to let them know. As you mentioned you have only had the camera for 3 months, it is likely under warranty and you might need a spare part or unit.

  I have a Photosmart e 7510 and am trying to print photos.  I have installed HP Premium paper and HP Photo cartridge installed.  When I print the photos that are green - I printed both a progress report and a report of print quality and the cartridge photo is full but the magenta is empty.  It seems to me that the photos are print with regular color cartridges and not the photo cartridge.  Or photos using all the cartridges?  I correctly on all the printer settings and chose to 'better' than the quality of the photo.

  Any help is appreciated...

  The photo cartridge is just black photo, which is used to improve the nuances of black and colors in a photo. When photos are printed colours would be used to create the best possible performance. I could replace the magenta cartridge and printing resumes and see if that solves the Green tinting the problem you are currently experiencing. I hope this helps.

  Hello! I recently threw my five cartridges (on a C6380), I then bought back Cyan/Magenta/yellow and black. I do not want to print, so I didn't buy the black photo.

  However, when I turn on the printer, it stops with the printer screen saying something like: cartridge missing or damaged, blah blah blah.

  My problem is I can not go on any other screen, I can't scan, I can't print, I can't make copies...

  I don't want to spend 20euros on a new cartridge, I won't use it, is it possible to use my printer?

  Instructions for the replacement of cartridges is warning that the old cartridges should not be removed until a replacement is ready.  Leaving the cartridges from the printer for a long time can allow the print head or connection ink passages become blocked.

  CAUTION:

  Wait until the new cartridge is available before removing the old cartridge. Do not leave the cartridge outside of the product for an extended period of time. This can result in damage to both the product and the cartridge.

  You will need at least a photo cartridge replacement for the printer.

  I tried to insert a 364 black cartridge in the printer. The 364XL black fits perfectly, but the 364 ordinary cartridge seems to be too narrow to fit.

  Am I stupid? Is there a technique for the Assembly of the 364 cartridge?

  The regular black cartridge must be installed in the center of the space, with an equal distance on each side.

  

  Additionally, make sure that you use the black cartridge 364 (with the symbol of the Pentagon) rather than the Photo-364 (with the butterfly or butterfly knot symbol).  The photos below show the 564 cartridge, but is the same for the 364.

  364 black cartridge has a Pentagon on the cartridge but a circle on the box...  The Photo cartridge has a butterfly on the cartridge and a camera on the box node.

• Photosmart HP 7520: Poor print quality Photo

  I made sure to use HP photo paper and the correct HP (#564) ink cartridges, but whenever I try to print a photo it comes out as a negative green accents to orange.  The model of printer Hardware information print quality was perfect, no lines and all the colors were clear.  My black photo cartridge may be low, but it is not ink.  Can someone direct me to a solution?

  SHThompson: Thanks a lot for trying to help.  After posting my problem, I discovered that I was not correctly interpret diagnostic color and, in fact, more photo black ink required.  You have one today and after putting in the paper upside down (as you pointed out could happen)], and then fix that, I could print my photos.

  My 6520 will not print a full letter-size photo.  It prints about a third of the image until the computer gives an error message that the printer is unable to print the photo.   I understand that you have some printing problems with your Photosmart 6520 and thank you where I can help with this!

  I would first make a few copies of the printer itself without going through a command sent to the printer from the computer. This will allow to test the equipment to make sure it's right before you start the troubleshooting software.

  If copies work fine, I have to know the operating system you are running. Just to be a little proactive, if you run Windows, run the print and Scan Doctor to see if the tool will correct the printing problem. If that does not help, try to uninstall the printer software and reinstall the printer by downloading and installing here: HP Photosmart 6520 e-all-in-one printer drivers

  If you are using a Mac, try the following steps:

  1. Mac OS X: how to reset the printing system
  2. Repair disk permissions
  3. Restart your Mac
  4. Add new printer (do not use the AirPrint driver)
  5. Test print

  (Pigmented) black ink is not compatible with the media of photography and color cartrdige (s) is used for printing on photo paper.  You have an installed color cartridge?  There ink?  What model is your printer?

  That can certainly create a problem. The photo black is made a little different than the standard black, giving it a better penetration and quality in photos the sustainable standard black did. If you make a photo printing, the printer will always try to use the black photo cartridge above the ordinary. The colors do not have this problem because they are made with a dye which has this deeper penetration as well, so it translates better than black only.

  My old HP died.  I had to buy a new one, but a friend gave me their HP6100 (they have just bought a new).  I love the all-in-one (I didn't before fax), and it works very well.  They gently closed printer cartridges.  One is the HP 97 tricolor.  I can find no documentation that it will work on this printer, and my friend isn't sure either.  Don't know where they got it, and I'm afraid to use it without checking that it is safe.  Can someone advise me?

  If you are in the United States, then only HP 56 black, HP 57 tricolor and HP 58 photo cartridge will work.

  When I try to print from my android phone, the photo comes with a border.  When I print from a memory card, it has no borders.  How can I set up the printer for photos of my phone are without borders?  I can't find any settings to specify borderless 4 x 6.  Thanks for any help

  Right-click on the 7510 & select printer properties.

  Click device settings.

  Make sure that the Photo Tray is available.
