Printer sharing with Equium A200

Hi, have acquired an A200 Equium and connecting to another PC at home through a wireless modem router wireless.
I have a sorted connection and everything works fine, except when I try and printer share.

The printer is connected to my old pc is an epson RX620 and old computer runs on XP. I can't find the printer on the laptop but when I double click I get an error message:

"windows cannot connect to the printer, access is denied."

I went through everything I can think of, but still will not happen. Would it because the laptop is running vista and the pc is XP?
Although I have been informed by epson printer should work with the laptop. Any ideas or advice greatly appreciated.

See you soon

I think I found an solution :)
I googled a bit and this should allows to share the printer with Vista and XP.

-Access to the control panel.
-Choose the printer. Then choose Add a printer.
-Click Add a local printer and click on create a new port. The default value in the drop-down list is Local Port. Don't change that. Click Next.
-A dialog box appears for you request that you enter a port name.
-Type in-\computer name\printer name ie. the printer name is EpsonRX620 then I typed in \\basement\epsonRX620

I hope this helps.

  • How to use the resolution to 1280 * 768 on external TV with Equium A200-15i

    I have my laptop Equium A200-15i hooked to my Bravia HDTV which accepts entries to 800 * 600, 1024 * 768 and 1280 * 768.
But my laptop will be released only in 800 * 600, 1024 * 768 and 1280 * 600 and I want to use the full screen on my TV.

I read a few other posts on this subject and I think that the problem lies in the BIOS, and I've not being updated since I got it in September, but I was wondering too since I'm Dual-booting Vista and XP pro, there will be problems with the BIOS I download?

There seems to be two more different for Vista and XP, who apparently get along out of each other.

Finally, update the BIOS problem will be solved my monitor extended?
And updated the BIOS using the BIOS XP Download break my laptop/vista partition?

Should I just not bother with the Dual-boot and go Vista/XP only?

    Thanks in advance

The BIOS is not the problem!

The fact is that your display driver doesn't support the resolution of 1280 * 768, and so you can't choose it.

    Once again;
    > Finally, update the BIOS fix my extended monitor?
No, as I said above, you can't choose your preferred resolution because it s not included in the graphics driver.

    > And updated the BIOS using the BIOS XP Download break my laptop/vista partition?
No, but if Vista is installed on the laptop then I advise you to use the version of vista BIOS.

    > Should I just not bother with the Dual-boot and go Vista/XP only?
Dual-boot is recommended according to me ;)
I have dual boot on my second notebook too. Dual boot has many advantages...
As you know from the beginning of the applications don't run correctly with Vista and if you have installed XP then you can run it without big problem ;)

I'm having some trouble with my Equium A200-1VO.

First of all, I can't get the CD/DVD-RW to write any dics. The Player opens also from time to time.

Secondl, I just downloaded and installed the latest driver Realtek HD audio, under the guidance of Toshiba, to see that when I plug my headphones the sound always comes out of my laptop speakers.

    Any help or thoughts?

    Thank you

Now, he can be really problematic. If you use your own installation of the OS, no one can say with certainty what can be the problem. Each laptop manufacturer, including Toshiba, offer recovery image installation and in using the factory settings, everything should work well. These recovery images are tested and they offer all the hardware and software features.

Maybe you should install Vista using recovery media supplied and check if all these problems are happening again. If yes then we can talk about the unusual and serious issues.

We have recently installed XP on an Equium A200 - 1V0 but can't find the right driver to connect to 3 G internet.
    Any suggestions gratefully received!

Please can you tell us how you want to connect to the internet using 3G?

I'm afraid you have misunderstood something and 3G can be used with an external display only.

  • Equium A200: Error 2131 burning CD with iTunes

    Hi all

I myself have very recently a laptop Equium A200. I used to use iTunes much to burn on PC previous - and is a key reason to buy this laptop in the first place! However...

When I try to burn, I get an error message (2131) from iTunes, I googled the problem and to see that many people with laptops from different manufacturers have the same problem - and sees only an update to resolve this, but can't find out what Toshiba have available to make me burn using iTunes?

Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Help, please!

    Rob.

    Hello

As I wrote already in thisthread, you must contact iTunes support and ask what the problem may be.

I'm really interesting if anyone here on Toshiba can help you with this. Sorry, but I'm pretty skeptical about it.

  • Problems with iTunes sync - Equium A200-1v0

    Hello

wonder if someone could help with this?

I have trouble to synchronize my Toshiba Equium A200-1v0 with my iphone in itunes.
The laptop worked well with an ipod for years are, however, have no joy with the iphone.

Someone suggested that my drivers may need to be updated.
How can I find the specific drivers needed?
Anyone else had a similar problem with itunes?

    Thank you

Why do you want to update the driver for laptop?
This has nothing to do with the laptop.
I guess that this is related to the Apple software and I recommend to reinstall this kind of things together.

I had also some problems with the iTunes software. I put like that, but I need to synchronize the files with my iphone and I had to reinstall it many times to make it work.

    Hi Katmandu774,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forums.

The Public folder is a convenient way to share files that are stored on your computer. You can share files in this folder with other people using the same computer and with people using other computers on the same network. Any file or folder you put in the folder Public is automatically shared with the people who have access to your Public folder.

If you are not on a domain, you can limit network access to the Public folder so that people with a user account and password for this computer. To do this, turn on sharing protected by password.

    1. Open the network and sharing Center by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click network and Internet, click network and sharing Center.
    2. Click the arrow next to password protected sharing, and then click one of the following options:

    ·         Turn on password protected sharing

    ·         Turn off password protected sharing

    1. Click apply. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

To control the level of access to the Public folder

    1. Open the network and sharing Center by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click network and Internet, click network and sharing Center.
    2. Click the arrow next to public folder sharing, and then click one of the following options:

    ·         Turn on sharing so anyone with network access can open files

    ·         Turn on sharing so anyone with network access can open, change and create files

    ·         Turn off sharing (people logged on to this computer can still access this folder)

    1. Click apply. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Also, make sure you add everyone to the public folder and give the necessary permissions to access it.

    Hello!

  • Equium A200-1VO - what could be done to improve the situation of power supply?

I recently bought an Equium A200 1VO as one second laptop - my other (an Aspire) is excellent, but a bit heavy in the basket to autour. Anyway, it seemed fabulous value and has worked very well so far - but I just discovered a catch today, the low battery life. I understand that this gap is shared with most of the other laptops of a comparable weight.

In any case, I wonder what could possibly be done about (I often use my laptop while on the move, in locations without power outlet available, and less than 1 hour of power is very restrictive (I know powersave and others)-especially compared to my other laptop which is about 3 hours on battery)?

Is there a portable power charger (the type with which you can load to the top of their rechargeable batteries on the sector, then take them and be able to charge mobile phones, iPods, etc. several times without needing an external power supply), as the Proporta one, who could charge a laptop as well (well, this laptop)? And how about the 9 cell Li-ion battery that sell Toshiba (or for that matter, one 6 cells)?

How long will pretty much those give me? Are there other types of batteries that can be purchased for an extra life?

Any suggestions on how I could get more autonomy would be most appreciated.

    Hi guys

    > what could be done to improve the situation of power supply
You could buy a stronger battery which delivers more power for a long time
You should take a look at the value of mA; more better ;)

Also please don t forget that the Vista operating system needs more power as an early OS like XP.
Vista needs more power because it wastes more computing resources.
I read that a same notebook would run 2 times longer on battery with preinstalled W2K or XP.

  • Equium A200-1V0 using XP - recent conversion issues.

    * Hi, *.

    * I recently inherited my laptop the girls, he had vista installed on it. I'm not a big fan so decided to install xp. I found a great guide on the forum, see below, (the topic is now locked) *.

    The original guide:

+ How to install XP Home on the following Vista laptop. 05/01/08 +.
    + PSAF5E + Toshiba Equium A200-1V0

    + Introduction
+ Here are the measures taken by us to remove our Toshiba laptop Vista and replace it with XP Home. There may be inconsistencies in our methods and we cannot have all the correct drivers installed, but everything seems to work OK for us. +
+ Our laptop now runs much faster, opens and closes more quickly and is more stable. +

+ This isn't a 5 minute operation. It should not be attempted by anyone with only a knowledge of passage of computers because it is very easy to screw things. The shop you bought your PC against them will load a lot to fix things and they will probably insist reinstall Vista! +
+ Be prepared that this would also probably negate your warranty. +

+ Luckily, I have a 2nd PC under XP, which allows me to access the web. This is very useful because it means that when your Vista machine is "broken" you can always find help and download the driver files. I also used my 2nd PC to create the XP installation updated the CD discussed later. +
+ You must have access to the web via a PC or another to get the necessary drivers. +

    + Method +.
+ First, even if you have Vista on your laptop, download and run a program of interrogation as "Belarc advisor" that lists all the drivers and software installed on your laptop. Print it out for future reference. It will be useful later when searching on the web for all drivers that may require updating. +
+ Now, make sure that you noted on all the necessary settings for your Internet connection. +
+ Also, back up the files that you may have placed on the hard drive you will lose the lot, including emails and the address books and web bookmarks etc. +

+ Unfortunately, the Toshiba disk that comes with this laptop does not appear to have all the required drivers with it. Instead, I think it relies on Vista keeping copy on your hard drive. It's not very bright that when the disk fails, you have lost everything! +
+ This means to go on the web and the search of all the required drivers run the XP successfully. +
+ Some we have found, for example the wireless network adapter, however this was not a problem because once we had installed XP and connected to the Internet through an Ethernet cable to our router, we were able to run 'Update Driver' for each missing item. +
+ Go to "Device Manager" via "Control Panel" then "System" and then "hardware". Then look for any yellow question mark for all the problems. Right-click and run 'Update Driver' for the Hardware Update Wizard and allow the PC to search the web "this time only. +
+ The ones we made in this way were: wireless adapter, Audio adapter. +

+ Unfortunately an original CD of XP SP2 does not contain the required drivers for this laptop. Therefore, when you start the CD it will be, after a few minutes of installation of files, say you have a hardware problem, there is no hard drive. +
+ To remedy this, you will need to download the right drivers Intel ICH8M SATA AHCI Controller. I could not find on the website of Intel, but on the contrary searched on Google for him. and he got to: http://www.alphadownloads.com/downloads/download-hp-intel-sata-ahci-controller-driver-ver--d-3064.html+

+ The other necessary drivers that we found on the web were: +.

+ Intel chipset device software installer +.
    Web page +.
    + http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=N&ProductID=816&DwnldID=14528 & strOSs = 45 & OSFullName = Windows * XP Home Edition & lang = eng +.

+ Or if this link does not try this: +.

+ Select 'Download Intel chipset software installation utility' on the left side, and then select your operating system "XP Home +.
+ Select "INF Update Utility - primarily for Intel 3, 900 chipset series ' +.
    + and download it. +

+ Driver Intel graphics: Mobile Intel (r) 965 Express Chipset +.
    Web page +.
    + http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=N&ProductID=2800&DwnldID=1438 8 & strOSs = 45 & OSFullName = Windows * % 20XP % 20Home % 20Edit ion & lang = eng +.

+ Or if this link does not try this: +.

+ Now, select "software & drivers" on the left side and select your operating system "XP Home +.
+ You will be presented with a list of files. +
+ Select provided? ® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Windows * XP (exe) +.
    + and download it. +

+ Marvell Yukon Ethernet Driver +.
    Web page +.

+ Or if this link does not try this: +.
    + On the right side, select ' W2000 / XP/2003/Vista x 86 & x 64 multilingual Installer (32-bit and 64-bit) for Yukon devices +.

+ Create the XP drivers disk +.
+ Add SATA drivers for a copy of your XP install CD using a program such as NLite. +
+ You have enough spare memory hard drive take a copy of your XP (about 700 MB) installation CD. +
+ Launch the program "sp37005.exe" and it will install on your hard drive. Do not install to a floppy disk. +
    + Download "NLite" of: http://www.nliteos.com/download.html+
+ When you run NLite it will probably say that you need to install ".net Framework", if so, quit NLite and go find the program. It is a Microsoft program that you can find by performing a Google search for the corresponding page on the Microsoft Web site. +
+ Now place your drive to install XP in your CD drive, if it autoruns, leave him. +
+ Run Nlite and follow the instructions on the screen. +
+ The program will ask where is your XP disk then it will ask you where you want to save the copy. +
+ On the screen "Task Selection", select "Drivers" and "Bootable ISO". Press "next". +
+ Select "Insert" and then "Folder pilot several" and now go and find your downloaded files of the SATA driver. Now, select 'All' and ' OK. The program will list the available SATA drivers. Select only the two that mention "ICH8M. Now press "next". The display will show the selected drivers. Press 'Next' and then 'Yes' to the prompt and then on "next" when done.
+ You are presented with the "Bootable ISO" screen. +
+ Put it a new inflammable CD in your CD burner, wait for it to be recognized and out any window that might appear to allow you to install files.
+ Now in Nlite, under "Mode", select "Direct Burn" +.
+ Under the 'Label' enter something like "XP for Toshiba Satellite A200" to identify the drive. +
+ Advanced settings to leave alone and now add the other required drivers by clicking on explore and copy them to the root directory to the temporary directory on your hard drive XP. It might be better to create a "Drivers" folder in the root directory to make them easy to find later. +
+ Now, click on the "Burn" button Now follow the remaining instructions to complete. +
+ You have now created an XP installation disc that contains your SATA drivers. +
+ - As you can tell, it of sound altogether, but avoids having to buy a USB floppy drive and it provides a neat solution. +

    + Hasta La Vista! +
+ Now you are ready to start the cleaning process, if you are brave enough to continue... +.

+ First, re-boot your laptop and the all start-up press F12 to change the boot order so that the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM is first. You can also use F2 and then change the Boot order from there. +

+ Now, insert your new XP installation disc in the DVD/CD drive and re-boot the PC, select boot from CD when you are prompted. +

+ The XP CD will now start copying the files and possibly display an options screen.
+ Select this option to install Windows. +
+ And then remove the hard drive C: partition (with Vista on) +.
+ Delete the partition used by Vista also F. +.
+ You will have to follow a lot of warning messages to delete the partitions. +
+ Now follow the instructions to create an NTFS partition on the C drive. +.
+ Now install XP by following the instructions. +

+ Don't worry that the graphics are a bit large as once Windows has finished installing, you can run the graphics driver you copied on the the XP CD to correct this. +

+ Run three driver files: +.
    + win2k_xp14311.exe Intel graphics driver.
    + INFINST_AUTOL.exe Intel chipset software installation utility ' +.
    + Marvell Yukon Ethernet Driver Setup.exe +.

+ Your graphics card must now improve and you should now be able to connect to the web (after the execution of the web Setup Wizard). But do not do this until you have installed your anti-virus software and firewall. +

+ Now go to "Device Manager" by "Control Panel" then "System" and then "hardware". Then look for any yellow question mark for all the problems. Right-click and run 'Update Driver' for the Hardware Update Wizard and allow the PC to search the web "this time only. +

+ If all goes well, everything should work OK now. +

+ Now go and have a drink to celebrate! +

    * After completing the installation, I found that I had no work wlan driver on my laptop. They are here (RTL8187B_WLAN_Adaptor), but with a big yellow question mark. I tried reinstalling them but it made no difference. I don't know why they don't will be will not installed properly.*

    * All went well and seem to work and all the familiar screens were there. I started using it and wanted to transfer some info from the laptop to my office. I copied the files on a disc using Ashampoo Burning Studio 7 and it seems to work, he went through the whole process without a hitch. When he had finished I checked the drive and it was empty he had no files on it at all. I tried several types/brands but the results (or lack of) is the same. The drive reads the discs will not drive write. Any ideas? *

Thanks for reading this and I would appreciate any help/advice you may have.

    See you soon,.

    Mike

    Hello

This means that everything is working properly without WLAN connection and burning the discs?

Well, are you sure that your laptop is equipped with RTL8187B WLAN card? Therefore, you can check the vendor and device ID in Device Manager.
But for all the portable Toshiba, you can download the driver WLAN here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

In addition, it would be interesting to know which drive you exactly used for the engraving process. I only use high-quality Verbatim and TDK media. I don t use Ashampoo or Nero, I use CD Burner XP because it the freeware tool and I can do anything I want with this program.

    Check it!

  • Printer sharing via LAN - EPSON XP-335

    Hello

We use 3 Macs connected via LAN (Ethernet, we do not use Wi - Fi).

I have connected an EPSON XP-335 via USB to Mac #1, and it prints fine.

On all Macs, I installed the software EPSON printing and active "Sharing printers", via preferences > sharing.

but when I try to print from Mac #2 or #3 I get this message "not connected":

    What should I do?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi coxorange,

Please use the Apple Support communities for help. From your post, I understand that you are unable to access the printer that is connected to one of your iMac, others in the House. I know it's nice to be able to print from all of your devices, so I'm happy to help you to provide advice for this.

From the information you provided, it seems that there is some confusion about the way the printer is shared on your devices. In order to have a shared printer, you must only share from the computer to which it is connected. From there, you can connect to this printer with other computers. Perform these steps on the iMac to which it is attached:

    How to share a printer:

    1. Open sharing preferences if it is not already open (choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click Sharing), then check the box print sharing.

    2. Under printers, select the printer you want to share.

When you share a printer, all users on your network ("everyone") can use by default. If you want to restrict access to specific people, go to steps 3 and 4.

    3. Click on the button Add at the bottom of the users list, and then do one of the following:

      • Select a user in users and groups, that includes all your Mac users.

      • Select a user from the network or users groups network, which includes everyone on your network.

      • Select a person in your contacts. Create a password for the person, then click on create an account.

    4. When you add people to the list of users, access to the shared printer is reset to no access for the users of your network ("everyone"). To provide access to everyone again, click the triangles, then choose can print.

Source: OS X El Capitan: share your printer

Once the printer is shared, you'll want to implement on your other computers. Check out the second section of this article, titled "Add a Wi - Fi or network printer":

  • How to install Windows 2000 on Equium A200-1VO?

    Hello

    Can someone help me?

I would like to install Windows 2000 on the Toshiba Equium A200-1VO laptop, but I need the drivers to do this.
I have tried the Toshiba web page but cannot find the drivers.

    Can someone please?

    Thank you

You will not be the drivers because this Vista designed for laptop is not supported by this old operating system. Maybe you can find the drivers for Windows XP Home edition, but not for W2000.

All you can do is search for the drivers on the net and hope you have success with it.
I don't know why you would do this, but perhaps you should accept that at some point Toshiba must say stop and don't waste time with the support of the older operating system. I also believe that 0.01% people want to use this old operating system on new generation laptops.

There is no sense to make support for W2000. What do you think about this?

  • Equium A200: Modem USB - disconnection after a few min

    Hallo,

I have a Toshiba Equium A200 computer laptop with Windows 7 32 bit. I have been using a Modem to USB Internet MTN on it for a year now.

Two months ago my Web pages stopped loading (on Google Chrome, Firefox, each one) USB would be connected, with a good connection, but after 2-3 minutes of surfing, my webpages simply won t load more, unless I do a restart, in which case I would just repeat the process.

I contacted my ISP, it s not their fault. I have re-installed all the drivers needed, re-installed the USB modem, I uninstalled and reinstalled all of my webbrowers.

The USB modem works fine on all other computers. Other USB modems are suffering from the same problem on my laptop, SO the problem is somewhere on my laptop.

Is there a setting some hand what should I change? Port A setting, or something in the registry may be editor? I have to re - install WIndows 7?

I really want to fix myself, before returning to the tech guys, they are VERY expensive, where I stay.

    Your help is appreciated kindly!

UPDATE: the Council following another forum seems to have worked:

Turn off, saving the settings for hubs/USB ports on Device Manager and see if that corrects issues. I had Windows do stupid shit with power settings USB before who would constantly unplug my mouse.
