Printing from lightroom leaves lines on the image

Hi all

I use an iMac 2009 end using Lightroom 5.5 and printing to a printer canon MG7150 photo.  When I try to print photos (I use Ilford photo paper, but the same result happens with normal paper) I get lines across the printed page.  I played a bit with the created printer (alignment head etc.) and even had a replacement printer but I still get the same problem.  I printed the image of photoshop and the lines were always there, but wider apart so I guess it must be something to do with the parameters of printing or the way lightroom interacts with the printer?  See below for a discussion of the example of one of my shots, the lines can be clearly seen

I am using Ilford printing the printer specifically for the 6150 MG profile (they don't seem to make one for the 7150) but I get the same results if print it by using the profile managed by printer / lightroom.

Please help this makes me a little nutso!

Thank you

I don't think that this has nothing to do with Lightroom. When you go to page layout, you can choose the quality and then choose photo? It seems to me that the printer is trying to print in standard text mode. In addition, I wouldn't say using a profile that seems to be close to what you have for a printer. If the profile is not for your printer, I would not use it.

Either by the way, I checked with the Red River paper company, and they provide profiles for their paper for the Canon MG7120, but not for your printer model. I'm not familiar with printers Canon MG, so I don't know if your model uses the same technology as the 7120 printhead. If the print head is different so I guess that your printer model does not really support the printer profiles, but that's only a guess.

  • The printer options not available when printing from Lightroom

    Hi all

I have a problem with the interface of Lightroom 2 (version 2.4, executed in 64-bit mode on my Intel Apple Mac with Mac OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard)) to my printer driver, an Epson Stylus Photo R800.  I can see looking through the forum that there has been a lot of problems with printers, but none as far as I can see that seem to cover my particular problem.

In the Lightroom print module, after setting everything up, selecting the correct ICC profile for the printer/paper etc. I click on the button "print...". "at the bottom of the right panel to launch the dialogue of the printer.  My problem is that the essential options, I need access to this printer dialogue, namely 'Print setting' (to determine the media type, and print quality) and "Color management", (to disable the printer color management)-are disabled.  To be exact, these options have a line through them, as if they were crossed.  "Print option" and "Setting the Extension" are similarly disabled, while "Layout", "Paper handling", "Cover Page" and Planner "are available.  (See JPEG screenshot attached.)

If I try to select one of the options not available such as 'Color management' I see the following on the screen error message:

"The bundle 'Color management' couldn't be responsible because it does not contain a version for the current architecture.  Contact the creator of all here for the most recent version: Color Management 3.09, SEIKO EPSON CORPORATION 2001-Copyright (C) 2005. All rights reserved. »

The strange thing is, if I print from Photoshop CS3, there is not this problem: "Print setting" and "Color management" are not disabled, and I can make the adjustments I want.

Coming off the printer prints color are way off if I print from Lightroom, so that from Photoshop, they are great - I guess because of this problem (I can not turn off printer in Lightroom color management, so that I can in Photoshop).

I guess that this is a problem in the interface between Lightroom 2 and my printer driver, but I find it strange that I don't have the same problem in Photoshop.

I have re-installed the latest printer driver downloaded from the website of Epson many times, following the instructions to the letter to Epson to remove the old drivers of my machine, to nothing does not.

I really want to print from Lightroom instead of Photoshop, I like the simplicity of the Lightroom print module.  Can anyone throw any light on this?  Any help or ideas gratefully received!

    Thank you

    Ian

Just save a driver of printer/preset in any 32-bit application. Then apply this preset when you print from LR runs as a 64-bit application. It is only the interface that is the problem. It should show very well, at least it does with Canon printers.

What you wrote, it seems that you are in the scene of Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 workspace.

Please see screenshot showing you how to remove the audio immediately after you dragged in the film that had been marked "Drag the next clip here"

Moving forward consider working in the workspace of timeline that gives you a better view of what is happening and therefore gives you more control over the flow of work. Please click chronology to watch how this audio present in the workspace of chronology after what you did in the space of the stage line.

  • Printing from Lightroom settings - Paper Type

I have a printer Canon Pro-10. We know that in the printer settings if you set the Type of media to a fine arts paper then the driver applies a margin of 30mm printing. So if you try to print from Lightroom, but have margins of 10 mm, it refuses to print until you change something.

Now I can get around this by setting the media type on a photo paper so I could print the edge on a paper fine art.

    My question is;

I can set the paper size in the Page Setup dialog box, I color managed by Lightroom and I actually use the right ICC profile for the paper and printing, this media Type setting does nothing with regard to printing? I printed some impressions on canvas and I see no difference in print quality?

It seems that the only difference in the Fine Art media Type parameter is the border forced 30 mm margin. Apparently, there is a potential to curl around the edges if you print without margins on paper Fine art. As long as you use a media Type for a type of similar paper it should work fine as you have experienced it. Just make sure you use the right paper Fine Art LR catalog profile > Print Job > color management.

I just bought a version of lightroom upgrade 6 (mac, upgrade from lightroom 4) and began the process of installation, but when I entered the serial number of the previous version, I got the message "the serial number you entered is not valid. Please try again. If the problem persists, contact customer service. The number I entered is correct - I checked against the original package and on the products of my adobe account page, and I get the error message even if I try to enter the serial number of the version of lightroom 3 I had before. I am at a loss to understand what I can do: I paid for this product, but I can't install it. The only thing I can think is that the lightroom 4A was purchased from an old computer, but it has migrated successfully to my current imac, as surely, it should work.

Problem is resolved now - it's due to my misunderstanding of what was required, and enter the serial number of the previous version (as an upgrade) instead of the serial number of the version I had to buy). My apologies for my mistake and thank you for your time.

    Hi Tanuj,

Thanks for your reply. The problem seems to be a damaged printer driver. I tried to print from my laptop computer rather than my PC and that worked OK. I downloaded the latest driver for the Epson 3880 but then find that the print spooler has become invalid. When I restarted the print spooler, everything worked again and I'm able to print as usual.

  • Lightroom has lines in the imported image.

I'm shooting with a Sony A7II and a goal of 50mm 1.4 Nikon with adapter. I HAVe computers 2 (laptop and desktop) with installed lightroom.  When I import files on the laptop that display images is ok; When I import the desktop each file has 3 or 4 horizontal lines at the top half of the image.  What am I doing wrong? lineexample.jpg.lineexample2.jpg

It seems that a different card reader has been around.  I deleted all the photos with the lines and imported using a reader of different cards with no problems.  If it's funny that the only appeared lines on files that have been taken with the Nikon w lens / adapter and not the kit lens.  O well something like that be done to turn the gear.   Thanks for the answer for everyone.

  • Images from Lightroom do not look the same when opened in PSCS5

    Hello

I use LR 3 and PS CS5, but an annoying problem that I don't know how to fix. Basically, when I look at a picture in the window inside LR 3, obviously true insofar the contrast and saturation and hue... when I select Edit in Photoshop CS5, the file opens in the PS, but the contrast and saturation and the same hue are a little off. Why?

    Thank you

    Juan

Juan, note that in Lightroom develop didn't use all the raw data available at a time to give you an overview. She does as otherwise, the program would be unusably slow. Each movement of a slider should give rise to a complete rerendering of the data at full resolution and then reduce the image resolution of the screen. Even on very fast machines out there that lasts about one second that would make all glacial especially on normal computers. So in a zoomed view outside, it takes just a subset of the raw data at lower resolution and uses for rendering. This can subtly affect the saturation in cases where there are a lot of specific details of the colors because there are no average before reaching the lower res image. When you zoom to 1:1, Lightroom simply makes only the small subset of the image you see in your window. Because it is a small subset, it is still once very fast, but is now done at full resolution. To develop, you can only 1:1 see Lightroom apply the noise reduction and levels of sharpening that can also affect the saturation similar to zoom out. Certainly, this will remain a problem until we are a few generations further down the curve of Moore. However, at this time there, the resolution of the cameras will have increased by the same amount as the rest of the problem.

Now consider what happens when you go to Photoshop. Lightroom (or ACR when you use "Edit in Photoshop") reproduces the image of the raw usually a TIFF 16 bit prophotoRGB. It is then opened in Photoshop. Photoshop doesn't know how to deal with RAW files. He needs a fully rendered RGB image provided by ACR or Lightroom. Now, since you have a fully rendered image, downward revision is very easy. However, you have more freedom to reinterpret raw data. The model used in Photoshop is very different from Lightroom and so different restrictions apply.

In the Lightroom library views, a prerendered jpeg is used for the display. This means that, in library view, the image is reduced to a fully rendered image and should show a desaturation with respect to develop when you have a lot of specific color details. Note that neither Lightroom overview of the library and scaled down preview Photoshop are actually accurate. The two scale in a corrected gamma space, but for display only. To complicate this, Lightroom evolves down using a different algorithm than Photoshop (which uses several mechanisms based on the zoom level - i.e. If it is divisible by two).  It is simply impossible to precisely display a picture in high resolution on a computer screen very low resolution. Always deal with scaling, for which there is no more correct approach. They have questions (stupid method of Photoshop has certainly).

Finally, a lot of people who see subtle (or even extreme) differences between Photoshop and Lightroom do have a problem with their monitor profile. Make sure calibrate you re - your monitor, and when you do, make sure that the calibration software generates a v2 profile (most profiling software have this option in advanced settings). Lightroom treats LUT v4 unlike Photoshop monitor profile. This difference will be left in a matrix of v2 profile.
