What application are you printing FROM?  Some default applications on the last printer used rather than the system default printer.

In the application you are printing from, select file > print rather than clicking on the icon 'print '.  Use the drop down menu to select your LaserJet 1018 and click OK (or print).  Close the application and open it again.  Print as you normally would.  The print job will the 1018 LJ or OneNote?

  • Reset the printing preferences

Is there a reason to print now remembers the printing preferences (in particular, the number of copies) made during printing?  I now fear an increase in my number of printed copies.  He ALWAYS remembers it now.  If any time I print 20 copies, the next time I use the printer instead of print 1 copy by default, it reminds the number 20.  I lost so much paper and ink and grabbed coffee and return to find 20 copies instead of 1.  This never happened to me before only started very recently.

You can always pause or cancel a print job. He doesn't have to run to its conclusion.

    In any case, try this.

Go to System Preferences > printers and Scanners > right click on the printer in the left sidebar and select this option to reset Printing System.

  • Why Firefox hang when I open the printing preferences to print Web pages on my Dell 720 inkjet, after that Windows XP gives me the warning on a protection fault 0 x 0000005?

I can copy text from websites and paste it into MS Word, where I can print fine in B & W or color. I can print from wordpad, too. And I had no problems printing in Internet Explorer. I'm just cannot open the printing preferences window when you use Firefox 7.0.1 and I don't have any add-ons like "Print Print Preview Update" (Acrobat, Silverlight, Office, and a few others). Firefox crashes when I try to open the printing preferences, but I am still able to print, only in the default settings. I use a Dell 720 inkjet connected to an IBM Thinkpad R51e with reinstalled Windows XP Home Edition 2002 SP3, processor Intel Pentium M 1.73 GHz 1.87 GB RAM (added). I installed the printer driver before connecting the printer, and I use Avira antiviral software. This laptop has had problems in the past, but I don't want to give up on this. Please ask if you need more information.

I completely removed Firefox 7.0.1 and replaced by 5.0.1 and now I can open the printing preferences. Follow these instructions:

Create a system first, restore point if you want.

Then, click on start, Control Panel, programs and features. Uninstall Mozilla Firefox.

    Reach...

    If 32 bits...
    C:\Program Files

    If 64-bit...
    C:\Program Files (x 86)

And delete the Mozilla Firefox folder.

This should give you a fresh start. Then install the old version. Just bookmarks can be imported from Internet Explorer or registered before switching versions

  • Sections stock scanner & printer preference is missing from the Solutions Center

I just bought a 6510 Photosmart e-all-in-one. I had no problem setting up on my laptop and set it up easily on an old desktop PC. However, I noticed in the center of HP Solutions on the laptop that two sections are missing from this - Actions "Scan" and "Printer Preferences". The only sections appearing on the page of the laptop are connected solutions, commercial Web resources, help & Support, then disclosures of personal information. However, the missing sections both appear on center of my Solutions desktop PC. How can I get they appear on Solutions Center the laptop?

The Solutions Center I want to talk about is the page that appears when I click on all programs / HP / series Photosmart HP 6510 / HP Photosmart 6510 series or the icon of the printer.

EDIT: I completely rewrote this post, including the title I used the terminology wrong so I hope that makes more sense now and I can get an answer to my problem. Maybe even an expert!

Apologies in advance to the moderators if I did the wrong thing by rewriting, sorry.

Due to a lot of things in my life I never had to call HP. However yesterday I did something stupid and had to reformat my hard drive. As a result, I had a clean slate to work with, and last night I was finally able to install the missing stock Scanner and Printer preferences. What I noticed during installation this time, was that I had an additional question that I could choose to install from the full functionality driver, called Smart something thing-or-other (sorry, can't remember title), which certainly is not in the list before (this is the same list that includes HP Photo Creations). I don't know why that did not exist before, but maybe it could be that I installed the printer in order to deparaments of the one below. He would have just because the news about my previous printer, which I had uninstalled it, was somehow still on my PC. Was the order I completed the installation in this time - 1) go to devices and printers, add printer, click the Photosmart series 6510 with the URL contains only numbers & points, and NOT the one with http / / in front of him (which is the link to the eprint centre) 2) download the driver full features on the site of HP , launched the present and choose what to install. And voila!

  • 8600 more fails to Printer preferences

I installed an 8600 more my WIN 7 32 bit Dell XPS 1530.  Everything works, BUT when I select set printer preferences, a box flashes and disappears before I can read it.

This happens in the HP software, MS Word and 8600 printer in Control Panel.  Something seems to be blocking access to this feature.

I spent hours on HP chat support.  I have disabled the firewall.  Installed and reinstalled.  Removed all other drivers of HP.  And so on.

Does anyone have ideas until I return the printer?

    Thank you

    Hi LevinDP,

It seems the BONE contributes to the issue. I would like to check this by installing on another computer, and if you do not have the issue is when I tell a system recovery. Let me know what you find?

  • ENVY 5535 printing preferences have a locked door symbol of each

Just installed a 5535 DESIRE and when I try to print and go to print preferences it is a symbol of lock next to each, i.e.

boarderless photo printing, general daily, etc.  How remove locks or open?  I tried calling the support, but got a bad phone connection, and a person who was difficult to understand.  She suggested that I call back at another time, after trying to uninstall and reinstall the software, which I did without result.

    Hello

Are you talking about the following locks?

They are by default, you can simply select one of them (no need to unlock) to print. You can also create your own if you wish.

    Kind regards.

  • HP laserjet pro 200 color m251: doesn't have a lot of printing preferences/options

I used my laerjet hp 200 pro very well from my pc but when I try and use from my mac it doesn't give me any printing preferences I front of my pc. When I try to change the best quality slider, he won't let me. help please! Also, I used to have several types of media to choose from cardstock very rough, but I don't have this option more.

    Hello

On your screenshot, you use an AirPrint driver and not a driver HP full feature.

In the Apple menu select System Preerences and open Printers & Scanners.

Select your printer listed and remove it using the sign less.

Click on "more" icon and then on the 1st option to view all available printers.

    Select the printer illustrated M251.

Click on the use of the menu drop-down and select the printer model HP rather the AirPrint option by default, then try printing and you should see the added options.

Please let me know of any problems,

  • Cannot open the printing preferences

    Hi guys,.

I recently bought a new computer with Windows 7 Professional. I have the HP PSC 1215 series that I used with my old Windows XP computer (it worked fine with that). With the XP computer it used the pilot for the series HP PSC 1200 and printed and scanned without any problems. Now, with Windows 7 PCs, I'll have a little trouble with the printer. First of all, I can't change the printing preferences (when I click on it, a window will appear and the disappers almost instantly). Second, it may not print correctly (using Microsoft Office 2010) Word documents. It can print text perfectly well, but the diagrams, word art and images it prints sometimes not at all, and other times it prints only part of it.

On the HP site, it says you do not need to download all drivers for Windows 7, it will install itself. It was installing, but clearly not properly. Windows Update was updating the driver, but who made no change.

I can do, or is the printer simply too old for Windows 7? Thanks for any help!

    Hello AA.

I have good news... for me at least! I've somehow set so that I can change my printing preferences! What I did was I went into the settings of the device and, under the "Advanced" tab, change the driver to "hp psc 1200 series. Here's what it looks like:

Now, after changing it, when I go into the printer properties, it makes appear this message:

I just click 'No' and it works very well! Can I change the print "Fast draft" or "DPI Maximum" quality.

Let me know if it works for you or not!

  • 3110cn - lack of Duplex in the printing preferences for some users

Had the 3110cn for quite some time and I'm especially happy with it.  Several weeks ago the main two people using the printer somehow lost the ability to specify a Duplex in the print preferences.  The duplex option and the menu drop-down is just not there!

    BTW - connected network printer

If I add this printer on a PC that has not used the printer before, same problem.  I uninstalled the driver on the PC individual and even reinstalled on the server without result.  My laptop has the duplex available option (and always have) and it works fine.

Any help would be appreciated.  The two without the option are those that use more often!

  • OfficeJet 7210 printing preferences does not work with the driver for Windows 8

I have successfully installed the driver of Windows 8 (64 bit) full of features.  Printer copy, scan, fax and print from the computer.  However, I'm no longer able to print in grayscale, select a print quality (fast draft, project, etc.) and choose the paper type on the printer menu shortcuts in the printing preferences.

In the box "what do I want?" and choose fast/economical printing, the selections above will appear in the list of options, but when you go to select an option in the drop-down lists that can empty al.

You probably work with a more basic driver in Windows 8, and this is why you are not able to use these features. I would check to see if there is another driver that will allow you to use the. Here's a message written by a colleague who deals with how you can do this:

  • In Printer preferences group policy: printer appears but does not define itself by default

    People,

I have my shared network printer installation group policy preferences. I have ensured that the Restrictions point and print are disabled in the parts of the user and the police computer. Each preference has a targeting rule that identifies computer names to apply this printer too and also users run in the security context is selected, both the game as default printer checkbox is checked. Mappings check only 1 printer is defined as the default value with pc.

When a computer maps the printer on the initial user connection (IE when their roaming profile is created), it appears in the list of available printers and devices, but it is not defined by default. It gives an error when you try manually set as default: 0 x 00000709. I looked into the case of the newspapers that I see that the reason is not defined:

The following information is part of the event: user, , printers by default {AA8B60B5-0555-45BD-9A8F-FAFA4D3DB7D8}, 0 x 80070709 the name of the printer is invalid...

I looked at the registry of the user and NO connection string is displayed in HKCU\Printers, as I expect the error!

If I then remove the printer from the list by right-clicking and choosing to remove the instrument and then type GPUPDATE to refresh policies, the printer is remapped and made the value by default as I expect. Once this has been done the printer seems to work for subsequent connections by the same user.

If you don't remove this error persists.

Anyone know what is happening because of the initial connection to fail map the printer properly?

    Thanks for any help,

  • Window printing preferences Photosmart 5520

The Properties window of the printer for my D5160 late used to look something like this:

By comparing the Properties window of the printer (for example, the inside Word on my Vista PC) for my new 5520 new seems very basic:

This brings me to wonder if I had installed the complete driver.  I installed from the CD.  It seems a lot more hostile user driver D5160 who introduced many shortcuts with icons to quickly access the print speed, better printing, photo, etc. with the drop down menus to further customize the settings and the ability to save settings customized on a screen.  I'm sure all the same options are there in the new driver but not too easily accessible, certainly for others less users lean back on my computer and there seems to be no way to save the custom settings.

Can anyone say if this is the best I can expect, or I missed something out somewhere during the installation and there is a more user-friendly version?

There has been some changes in how drivers are designed for the for the 5520 Photosmart D5160.

Some of these changes have taken place for many different reasons, but one of them is that many of these options are integrated into the software normally used for printing. Many of these custom settings are in programs such as Microsoft Word and photo printing software. Instead of doubling these services and leading to conflicts of drivers, these options were left more to the software providing information for the print driver on is made on the rear part.

It is the correct printing preferences screen for Photosmart HP 5520. I hope this helps.
