Printing problems - number of copies squared

We have two different computers with Windows 7 Pro.  One is 64-bit, 32-bit.  Both have problems with the number of copies being squared when print on some programs - the 64-bit HP printer, and Word is the program of boredom.  the 32-bit has a cannon, and Printshop 23.1 is the program of boredom.
By checking on the web, it seems that this problem exists also in Vista and many other types of printers.  Help!

Hello

    Solved.

After a lot of research on reading and tests finally discovered the problem with drivers print and collate. Default settings for Microsoft Office 2010 and Adobe Reader are to gather if one that one copy is activated. For some reason any that caused printer to go crazy.  I tried the Standard driver and universal for the printer, but always had the problem of printing too many copies. I used the PostScript driver and it solved the problem.  Now just get the number of copies required. Thank you for your help.

  • printing constantly number of copies after the driver update

    Hi HP

HP Laserjet 1022n printer. Printing via LAN.

  • Problem of the printer prints do not number of copies

I was using a HP LaserJet 1160 for 4 years with no problems to speak of. I had a computer of my last XP computer crash and bought this new Vista system 3 months ago. Since installing my printer on this new system Vista no matter how many copies I choose to print from a print window it will give me only 1 copy.  Very simple problem, one might think. I had my team Lightspeed System Support remote access to my computer and they have checked drivers and tested the problem. When I go to print something, I enter the number of copies that I want, and then click on print. I put in 5 copies and it will give me only 1. No matter how many copies I request so that it will only give me a. Nobody knows how to solve this apparently simple problem? I reinstalled the printer. I reinstalled the drivers. I went to Vista Home Premium, Vista Ultimate, I always have this problem.

    Hello

When was the last time it was working fine?

Try to uninstall then reinstall the printer drivers.

  • Does not print not correct "number of copies".

I have a little HP Deskjet D1530 came with our computer.  It was working fine.  We had to wear our computer completely cleaned due to hard drive (1 t) was completely full due to a software problem.  I reinstalled the printer and print a complete document (multiple pages), but I made a few changes on the first page and to print 3 copies of the 1st page to give to other people. The printer will only print one page, and I must go and reprint - even if I changed the 'number of copies' to 3.

I think there is a simple solution, but for the life of me, cannot understand it.  Help please... Thank you, Rosemarie

  • "Reader" in Windows 8 - always keeps the last number of copies when asked to print

Hi, my colleague is running Windows 8 on a Dell desktop computer, when she displays a file in 'Reader' and enters a number of copies to print, any file she looks after this and then try to print then remembers also the number of copies - it is not default to 1 copy.  Any help appreciated.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    • The problem is specific to printing using Reader app?

I understand that the layout print Reader app don't no default 1 and I will be happy to answer your query.

I suggest that you manually change the parameter 1 and take print of all thinking to test. After printing of any document, close the Reader app and then check if the print setting change to 1 because you closed the app with 1. If the setting print page does not change, you can try following steps and check.

Step 1: Put the computer in a clean boot state and check.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Place your system in the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: see 'How do I reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting' to reset the computer starts normally after troubleshooting.

Step 2: Run Microsoft Safety Scanner

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

    Microsoft safety scanner

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

From now on, try the methods above and let us know the update.

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

  • print to printer noprint (1 copy) - how to set the number of copies by default

    Hello.

I need specific concurrent programs to be automatically printed, so the number of copies that specific programmes should be on 1 as a default value.

Which is adjustable at the level of the simultaneous program (only for the particular simultaneous program)? I can select separate printer for the specific program, but not the number of copies.

The only way I've found is to "create concurrent Copies: report" property to 1 in the site-level profiles system.
But that means will have also all noprint printers number of copies set to 1.

Can there be problems NOPRINT: unknown printer error ?
    Is there another way?

  • HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2645: Printing problem

I tried printing the photos on Microsoft Word, my images are always in line with the margins. And then I check my preview before printing, and it's perfect

But when it prints it completely different, it looks almost as if its zoomed in

You can help me solve this problem

    Thank you

    Hello @ChelsHp,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you're running into some problems printing photos to your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2645. When you print the picture, the image looks as if it is maximized. You run the Windows 8 operating system and print photos from Microsoft Word.

Have a look here to ensure that you have the correct settings: Print the Photos saved on your computer (Windows)

    1. what sized photo paper are you using, you change the paper size in the print preferences?

    2. that you get error messages when you print?

    3. If you print a document, or a copy that is zoomed also?

I was able to find this solution on the Forums, which can be useful:

"Right-click on the image. Choose the size and Position. In the next window, select Position.  In the new window, select Horizontal, Center and to the right of the parent to the Page, no column. »

If you are unable to print the photo, try the following steps:

Here's how to move photos from your screen to the printed page:

    1. open the library of images from the desktop and select the photos you want to print.

You want to print a photo? Then click on it. To select multiple photos, hold down the CTRL key when you click on each of them.

    2. tell Windows 8 to print the selected photos.

You can tell Windows 8 to print your selection either of these ways:

    • Choose the tab sharing the folder in the main menu and choose print.

    • Click one of the selected photos, and then choose print from the context menu.

No matter what method you choose, the print pictures window appears.

    3. Select your printer, paper size, quality, type of paper, layout of picture and the number of times to print each photo.

The print pictures window allows you to change several settings. (If you don't change what whatsoever, Windows 8 print a copy of each picture on a sheet of 8 1/2-x-11 - inch photo dear.)

    • Printer: Windows 8 lists your default printer, your only printer, if you have only one - in the top-left drop-down list. If you have a second printer that you use only for photos, select that printer from the drop-down list.

    • Paper size: Windows 8 lists the different paper sizes in this drop-down list where you can print on anything other than the normal 8-1/2-x-11 inch photo paper.

    • Quality: leave this at 600 x 600 dots per inch, for most photo printers. If you print to a regular printer, go to 300 x 300 dots per inch.

    • Paper Type: select the type of paper that you have placed in your printer, usually a type of Photo paper. This menu lists usually several types of photo paper, glossy paper of semi gloss to matte. Don't know what kind of photo paper, you? The choice between the photo classified options paper, as they will turn out better that you choose plain paper.

    • Layout: on the edge right photo print window, choose how Windows 8 should organize photos on the page. For example, you can print each photo to fill an entire page, print pictures of nine portfolio or print something between the two. Whenever you select an option, the wizard displays a preview of the printed page.

    • Copies of each picture: choose anywhere from 1 to 99 copies of each image.

    • Adjust image to the surroundings: leave this checkbox enabled for Windows 8 to fill the paper with the picture. (This option may slightly trim the edges of your photo for a better fit.) * Source

Please let me know the results. I look forward to hear from you.

    Thank you

  • Windows 7 HP990c printer problems

    Hello

When I print multiple copies using XP I have no problem. In Windows 7, it prints one (1) copy when requested but 2 or 3 times the number of copies at the request of several copies.  The XP driver is certainly higher, because it allows me to choose ink 'light' setting, which is very useful to prevent bleeding through the paper.  I checked my settings of printer several times for example "pages per sheet" 1 and 'copy the number' 1 copy, etc.

Everyone knows about similar issues and if so is there a cure?

I have no confidence in the search for a cure and hope I can add a second hard drive with XP installed on my new computer Windows 7 does not allow me to install XP on my existing hard drive.

    Hi @dmanyeah,

Thank you for reaching out to the forums! I understand that you encounter printing problems in Word, the full image is not printing. Thanks for providing the screenshots. I'd love to help you.

Try to print a picture from another application to see if you have the same problem.

To exclude the driver, install a generic driver to see if you have the same results.

    • On the computer, go to start, devices and printers, right-click on your printer and select printer properties.
    • Click the Advanced tab and click new driver, and then click Next.
    • HP Deskjet 9800 by selecting in the list or the Deskjet 990c printer, click Next, Finish, and apply the settings. (you can always go back and revert to the original printer driver)

What version of Word are you using?

If the problem is resolved and you appreciate my help, please click on the "accept as Solution" and the buttons 'Thumbs Up'. Let me know how make you out. See you soon!
