"" "project had previous printers' setting ' but ' default ' is not a 'project framework.

The notion of shortcut is used to capture commonly used the driver settings. Printing shortcuts tab to select and memorize the specific combinations of the parameters of the driver for easy use. The number of changes of image options (paper sizes , paper , etc.) according to the selected shortcut.

Default = the default value for configuration of HP from the production line, usually the most commonly defining for the region. for example, letter would be the size of default paper for the American Customer under the shortcut by default factory.

General everyday - print is another name, that we are creating in order for the user to save their settings of the print option in general. You can use which is to be defined as is OR change to meet your need and save it for your used daily.  And you can give a new shortcut name on your own that you love him too.

If you change the settings for a predefine shortened print, button Save under... and reset become active. Click on record under to save the new settings as print custom shortcut. Click reset to set the default options for all of the features of the selected shortcut.

You can click HELP in the selection of the pilot screen OR refer to this document for more information on shortcuts and other features:

  • LaserJet M750N: HP LJ M750N - printing shortcuts don't retains no "Special Pages" between the switches.

I have a laser color HP LJ M750N with 4 trays.

It is shared from a Server Windows SBS2011 with the PCL 6 driver 61.155.1.16012 version

We print a PDF document that requires that the first page to be on a sheet of letterhead, so I created 2 "printing shortcuts", one for the plain and the other for the letterhead.

In the shortcut for letterhead, I have also included the "Paper/quality" (Special Pages) setting for 'print the first page on different papers' - so this page goes off in Tray 1 with the letterhead.

In the shortcut for the plain, I have a standard paper feeding from tray 2 with no parameters 'special Pages '.

When a user selects a shortcut like "Plain", it works fine.

The "Header" shortcut also works very well.

This is possible only once, on the second print job that since "Header" parameters are not implemented - it's back to settings "Plain".

Passage of the "header" in "Plain" and results of back in the incorrect setting under the section "special paper".

ANI deas on why this is the case and how can we get this working correctly?

    This did not help, sorry.

Even on the server - just go into the settings of the printer and the exchange between the printer shortcuts, I was able to reproduce the error.

Finally remove the printer and reinstalling coarse PCL 6 universal printer driver - this works correctly if clearly a bug in the old pilot.

    Problem solved.

  • Change default printing shortcuts

I want to change the default print shortcut.  He is currently assigned to "general printing every day."  I would like to change it to "Fast/Economical hologram."  When I go into preferences, tab shortcuts Printing and click "Fast/economical printing" there is no option for this do the default shortcut.  When I click on 'General Impression-' every day, change the features to resemble fast printing & economical, it will allow not to store the news under a new name, but not by default.

I encountered the same problem with my HP F4280 All in one and figured out what the problem was.  I am using Windows 7 then the following steps work for this OS well its probably similar for Vista users.

Click the Pearl icon (Start), and then click devices and printers

Double-click your printer icon to open the HP Center

Under Printer Actions, click on customize it your printer link

    Click the Advanced tab

Click on the button to default print (lower-left)

If you haven't already done so, create a custom shortcut in changing one of the default settings of HP and then choose Save as

Choose your shortcut in the list, and then press the button apply

Press OK and you get back to the center of HP

Close the center of HP (X in the upper right corner)

However, this is where I ran into problems... If the program you are printing from is currently open (Photoshop in my case) the default print settings will NOT change until you restart the program. Restart your program (Web browser, Photoshop, paint etc) and now your default print settings should be updated to use your custom default shortcut.

I hope this will help some of you who have had problems.

  • HP 8630 will authorize specifying the second tray for printing shortcut.

All-in-one printer inkjet HP 8630 range Pro will not accept specifying the second tray for printing shortcut. Indicates that the parameter is a conflict and obliges the "Printer Auto Select" option instead of allowing me to select "tray 2" which is an option. I like to keep a white shining in tray one and photo paper in tray 2 and made the my HP 8500 Pro for everything that I needed to do is select the appropriate shortcut configured by me to print the photo. Operating system is windows XP Pro.

I want to start by apologizing for not picking up on this on your first post. The 8630 2nd tray print 8.5 x 11 or 8.5x14 paper.

The reason why what impression pictures he says that there is a conflict and if he chooses the main tray is because there is no choice. The printer does not have the ability to print photos from the 2nd drawer. If you're looking to load media into the trays you need 8.5x11 or 8.5x14 in the 2nd tray and other media can be loaded in the main tray.

In the printer's Specifications in paper output specifications > paper tray capacity & Supported sizes of paper in you shows what's available for trays.

Change the source of your document must make all the problems disappear.

  • HP Officejet 4630: Unlocking the printing shortcuts

When I go into the printer shortcuts (devices and printers > click with the right button on printer > printing preferences > printing shortcuts) they are locked. There is a LOCK on each option, it is impossible to customize printing. I just bought this printer, make me the administrator. This printer uses a ridiculous amount of ink and I should be able to use shortcut printing options.

I have seen that many other people have the same problem.  Why sell HP printers that cannot easily be used? It's my first HP printer, and I'm starting to regret buying this.  NEVER had this problem with Canon.

Note: HP Print and Scan Doctor is no help and advice of 'cloning' do not work either (Windows has NOT created a new shortcut called 'User specified Print Settings' at the bottom of the list).

Hi, with the exception of "Factory Defaults" all locked shortcuts can be saved under a new name when you change at least one of the 5 options such as the Paper Type.

  • How to set default printing shortcut or change standard ones

I have a LaserJet 2420d with the PCL 5 driver.  Whenever I print, it uses the default paper shortcut that is "General printing every day."  This built-in shortcut specifies a type of "Pre-printed", so the printer breaks waiting for pre-printed paper inserted until I press the check mark button.

I can create a custom form that has solved the problem, but I don't know how to make my custom form by default for the printer.  Furthermore, if I could change the type of paper for the 'General everyday printing' and save it, it would solve the problem.

So how set my default paper form shortcut or change the standard one?

Furthermore, the who Devil set by default to use paper pre-printed paper?

Open your printers and Faxes folder, right click on the printer icon and select Printing Options. and any changes made here will be defined as a default value.

  • HP update conditions print shortcuts

    Hi all

I was wondering if anyone knows what conditions/triggers a shortcut to print to be added or removed on the client computer s/thin clients after have been modified on the print server.

Seem to have a few shortcuts to hang out on customers after having been removed from the print server.

    Hello

Usually shortcuts on client PCs refreshed after Log off and log in the system.

If in case, if shortened deleted on the server and the client is actively connected, then they need to close session and connection to get the Driver UI update with the shortcut available on the server to refresh on the client system.

Hope that this information will be useful.

  • Shortcuts to printer not saving preferences do not

    Hi all

I am able to create new print shortcuts in preferences, but the settings are not saving. If I watch settings which is the color then look at other one who is B & W the other settings appear in options. How can I get the shortcut settings to save correctly. I clicked on apply then OK after you have created. I have even come out right and come back and see that the shortcut has changed.  Color LaserJet MFP 400 with 3 installed tray and firmware updated. Windows XP using LAN to print.

    Thank you

    Solved with a work around.

Instead create different shortcuts printer the printer, I created a second installation of the printer, renamed it (letterhead) and now what impression the choice is made at the level of the printer not on the level of preferences. I've also renamed the instal Moose (EverydayPrinting) printer and set the prferences in that one needed. I know a little awkward, but this just HP does not take parameters. The user is satisfied with the result.

  • Shortcuts locked on printer

I have a HP Envy 5530 all - in - one. Having followed that there a few months. I really like it, but for some reason any, when I go to print all shortcuts are locked and the only one I have to use is "User specified Print Settings". Even the general everyday printing shortcut is locked. Is this normal. Why all the others have if I can't use them. Does anyone know how to solve this problem. Oh, also when I print I have to go in the specified by the user and turn off the border thing or my impression is on the top of the page or at the top right.

Hello! Welcome to the @Pepper13 forums.

I read on how some shortcut print options are not available for you. I'm here to offer my suggestions.

First of all, please let me know if all programs do not show these options.

Make sure you use an administrator account (if you are using Windows).

Let me know the operating system you are running.

Try to uninstall the printer software and reinstall the printer.

Please let me know the results and the information above.

    Thank you

Hi, I also have a HP 8500.  After you click on print and the menu to select the printer, when you select the HP 8500 and select Properties, there is a tab 'Print the shortcuts' its a great feature, but I'm not seeing this on my 8600.  There is no and I just need to activate it somehow or was deleted with the 8600 functionality?

    Hello

The printing shortcuts feature was remove and are no longer accessible to the general public for the latest version of the HP software.

There is a work around as possible to get the functionality by using another driver, but as mentioned, it is no longer provided by the printer driver.

    Kind regards
