Problem back on Palm Desktop ActiveSync

I created a Versamail account to synchronize with my Exchange Server work. But then, I got a dialog box saying that calendar and Contacts would also be Sync, and I didn't do it. So I never completed the initial process of Exchange ActiveSync.  Then, I deleted this account in Versamail. However, I didn't NOT of Hotsynced at the same time.

After my next Hotsync later that day, I noticed that my calendar and Contacts were no longer sync on the desktop. I noticed that the lines have been set up to "Do nothing", so I tried to change their return to 'Synchronize', but this caused the Hotsync Manager to crash.

Reinstall the Hotsync Manager and I get the error "EASNotify.dll not found... etc etc. So I uninstalled all Palm, restarted my computer and reinstalled. But this does not solve the problem. Still no synchronization of calendar and Contacts, and Hotsync Manager still crashes when I try to change their State of synchronization and save it.

I also did a hard reset and restoring my Treo 755 p.
How can I fix it? Can anyone help?

BTW, I have read and tried 36077 article, but it does not work. Its as if the HotSync Manager thinks there is an account EAS on the Treo, but in fact I deleted.

E

OK, I fixed by using a different method (easier), but once again thanks for the suggestion.

Here's what I did:

1. create a new Activesync in Versamail account, but do not do a live sync in Versamail.

2 Hotsync. Now, the desktop computer and the Treo should think that there is an EAS account, so no he calendar and Contacts.

3 go back in Versamail and remove the Regional service account.

4. Hotsync again. Now, the two must know that the EAS account has been deleted.

Fixed!

  • Back to palm desktop from microsoft outlook?

    Hi guys

I'm not very technically gifted, so could you please help me (dummy mode!)? I have a palm tungsten e2 and I have recently been using microsoft outlook but I hate it, like an annoying message keeps popping up every 10 minutes. I want to return to the use of palm desktop to sync with my laptop. but I lost my disk startup, is - it possible?

    cheers in advance

Hi and welcome to the forums of Palm.

First some background: when installing Palm Desktop detected you have Outlook so it assumes you want to synchronize with it. This is why it is currently set up to synchronize with Outlook.

Now, the fix: have the Palm Desktop conduits. Here's how:

    1. On the PC, go to the Start Menu
    2. Select all programs
    3. Select Palm
    4. Select led sync PIM
    5. Select sync with Palm Desktop

Who will put the conduits to sync with Palm Desktop rather than with Outlook.

  • Back to Palm Desktop synchronization, rather than with Outlook

I recently installed Outlook on my PC and was then given the option to sync my Treo to Outlook. I didn't think it would mean that it would be no longer synchronized to my Palm Desktop. I don't find a way to return to Palm Desktop synchronization, I prefer, without uninstalling Outlook. Can anyone offer advice. I would be very grateful. Thank you.

Hello and thank you for using the Palm Help Forums!

If you use a newer version of Palm Desktop, you can change the way that you want to synchronize easily. On your PC, go to start > programs > Palm > PIM led Sync > sync with Palm Desktop.

All your data will not be synchronized for Palm Desktop. If you do not have this feature, you can download and install a new version of Palm Desktop by going to www.palm.com and click support.

I hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions.

  • Palm desktop 6.2.2 lose data

I tried to fix this with the support of chat with Palm without result.  From time to time my data disappeared from my desk calendar.  They said that the events are purged and backed up each week in the month, according to the period selected in the 'tools', but only 1 week can be chosen in my software.  I reinstalled the software, the same thing.  I can't imagine why someone wants to purge events regularly, I want a calendar for the story, it can provide in addition to future events.  In fact, recurring events have not been purged, separated events only.  Is this a bug in the software that could be fixed?  Or - is it the way Palm 6.2.2 is supposed to be and I need to move to a different calendar program?  I used Palm for years and this is new for me with Vista and 6.2.2.  Fortunately I backed everything up in anothere place, or I'd be really frustrated!

Oh, okay. I thought it was a Z72. Yes, the Z22 is compatible with PD 6.2 and Vista.

Some of the reports we've seen is that Palm desktop is open when the PC is turned off, is no is not a function of file - save after making changes.

We are documenting cases of data loss and are studying the issue. Not sure if this is a problem Windows or Palm desktop.

Palm Desktop had to be re-designed to function with Windows Access database.

You have Outlook on your computer? It seems that sync'ing with Outlook, data loss is irrelevant at this point.

  • Palm Desktop 6.2.2 on Win8.1 synchronization but only showing no data

I'm so happy to have found this forum.  I didn't know there was so much love for the old Palm devices.  I started with a Palm V and worked my way up to a Tungsten T & palm Desktop 4.1.4 on WInXP and everything was so good that I resisted to move away from Palm Desktop, as it is just what I need.  But I just bought a new Win8.1 PC and am having a few problems that I hope someone here can help with.

I have been through help here on the installation of Palm Desktop 6.2.2 and win8 driver and installation has been very good and I couldn't hotsync via USB without apparent problems, except that Palm Desktop does not display any of my palm data!

When I ran hotsync (from cradle palm button) it asks a user name.  My Tungsten T was already used on my XP PC and was full of data.  If I entered the username of tungsten and hotsync continued.  It took a few minutes or so (as would be expected) and once finished he said that everything was ok.  I checked the logand Hotsync, it was confirmed that everything was synced properly - but when I open Palm Desktop there is no displayed data.

I then checked the data files in ...documents\Palm OS Desktop\... and addresses and calendar files are present and full of my data.  I've even opened in Notepad and could easily see loads of text ascii among all of the "junk" characters, so it seems that the synchronization process has worked correctly, but none of my Tungsten is displayed in Palm Desktop.

I then added an event on the agenda in Palm Desktop and another event the same day in tungsten.  I then did an another hotsync.  It was reported as a success, but the event of tungsten is not in the office, although the same office appeared on the tungsten.  If the synchronization process seems to work only one way!

I have had it before and would appreciate any help.

OK, try to use the "Palm Hotsync Setup" program found on this page.

    Since you're using an old T | T, maybe that's the answer.

There is a guide available on this site for the migration of data from Palm OS Android, if you are interested.  I made this jump years ago when webOS was finished.  You can find it on their homepage.

  • Palm Desktop by Access removal of contacts

I have a Tungsten e2, I use Palm Desktop by Access version 6.2 and use hotsync manager version 7 with Windows 7. I've recently updated it Palm Desktop software for the Access 6.2 version since then he started to remove about 2/3 of my contacts from time to time. When I run the software to display deleted files so that I can restore them they appear not as being deleted. I can synchronize or import to restore them so it's not the question. I would like to know why he keeps removing them and how do I stop.

    Thank you!

Biggest problem reported with Palm Desktop 6.2.2 is turn off your computer with the program remains open.  This can cause the problem you describe.

Always close the program properly before feeding the worms down or reboot.

  • Problems installing PALM Desktop on XP

I recently bought a PALM TX to replace a Tungston T.  After a few minor problems, it installs successfully on my work laptop.  Then I tried to install it on my desktop (XP Home) home PC and have experienced significant problems.  Following the Start Here guide I plug my TX before I loaded the software, but the system gave me "unrecognized USB device" constantly.  I started the installation of office, but after a few screens (download far from over), he fails a reboot (I tried this twice).  I disconnected the TX and restarted the installation and it went in the right order.  Computer has expired when I arrived at the stage of 'Synchronization device', I connected the TX and the "unrecognized USB device" came again and when I hit the 'sync' button nothing happened.  In addition, I noticed that the Hot Sync icon installed in the right hand bottom of the screen as it was supposed to.

I uninstalled the software and tried to restart, reinstall, and even tried to install it from the downloads on the PALM page, including an option 'repair' installation problems.  Nothing works.  And of course it is there nothing on the PALM page: installation problems or even a way to the problem of PALM support by e-mail.

Is it possible to get this figured out?

Well, the OS is XP Home.  OK so here's the solution I guess... After trying various scenarios that did not work, I tried just not worth trying to get the new Palm Desktop to work with my TX.  So I unplugged the sync cable.  It is then that I noticed that I had plugged the new sync cable into the USB port to which my old cradle used.  This USB was one that came with my system that is about 4 or 5 years (I think it is called Technology USB 1).  However, I have also a new USB 2 card in my system so I decided to give that a try... and it worked.  The system immediately recognized the new TX and everything worked fine after that.  So I guess the lesson here is that the newest Palm requires the latest USB technology even if I've seen that in any of the documents.

And thanks to those who tried to help me with this problem.  It's really appreciated.

  • Problems with Palm Desktop

This isn't a matter of timing, but I write it here because it's the only instance that is specifically for Mac. I use Palm Desktop on the same computer (an old iMac, one that looks like a desk on a dome lamp) for years. All of a sudden will not open Palm Desktop. I tried to reinstall the application several times without success. I even deleted all the support files that I could find, although I can't be sure that I got them all because I was not able to find a list of what the Palm Desktop Setup installs, and there is no uninstall option. It comes to Palm Desktop 4.2.1 which should be the latest version because I downloaded again, since the problem occurred.

What should I do? Everyone knows about this problem before? And how to fix it?

OK, I got it fixed now. Thanks Alan!

  • Data transfer Assistant - doesn't recognize palm desktop

I have a Palm Tungsten e I installed Palm Desktop v6.2 so I could transfer my data on my new Pre phone.  My Pre phone is plugged into the USB port on my computer and I selected the USB key on the phone. I then started the data transfer Assistant, has chosen to run, chose following the Welcome screen, chose following to the login window since I already have my phone connected pre, says next message window ' although Palm Desktop is installed, there is no data to transfer.

This is incorrect. my Palm Desktop contains data.  Why the data transfer Assistant say that?  The only option is left.  How do I get past this so I can transfer my data?

I did setup a Google mail account and put that on my phone but it seems not to matter.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I found the solution to my problem with the DTA does not transfer my data from Palm to my Pre phone.  Here are the steps I took:

    (1) backed up the data of palm on my external hard drive

    (2) uninstalling palm desktop and palm versalmail by using Add/Remove programs

    (3) record deleted program files/palm

    (4) pc reloaded

    (5) installed Palm Desktop V6.2

    (6) synchronize Tungsten E PDA to pc

    (7) made 3 new Palm Desktop: 1 user profiles for the calendar, 1 book, 1 for memos address (got this tip from another validation)

    (8) exported calendar data in the profile calendar, address to the address profile data and data Memo memo profile

    (8) DTA started

    (9) selected a profile suitable to transfer to pre - done 3 times.  Wanted to make sure that each type of data transferred correctly and it also gave me the opportunity to choose where I wanted to save the data

    (10) SUCCESS!

Hope this helps someone else out there.

  • serious problem sync with Palm TX

Hello.  I was not able to sync my Palm desktop with my handheld.  I use a USB cable and it syncs only until Documents on section GB appears in the window of your handheld during synchronization.  Then it crashes and a message appears saying as the entire synchronization does not back up.  Also, at this time there I can't close out of the desktop version and must use the window Task Manager to close it.  I recently had a virus and may still have the remnents of it.  Do you think this could be the problem?  Also, I thought I could solve the problem by doing a hard reset and the only thing that was an empty hand.  Synchronization even freeze took place after the hard reset, as was done before.  Any suggestions of a good expert out there?  Thank you

First disable DtG pipes to complete the synchronization on the rest of the PIM.

Then see if you can reinstall DtG (process starts on your computer).

  • HotSync: Palm Desktop by ACCESS must be closed when running HotSync?

I just got this Centro by Verizon two days ago.  I realized that Centro or Palm Desktop is updated if the Plam desktop is open or running.  If I close the Desktop and HotSync application, then the Centro and the office are updated.

Is this a bug?  Or I have to change some set up or something?  The previous version of the Office Plam and Tungsten T obtain upated if the application is running or not.   I wish that the operation of the previous version.  Information, ideas, or comments on this would be appreciated.

Older versions of palm desktop saved data after you he entered the office. Palm Desktop 6.2 does not have this feature, whenever you put data in palm desktop 6.2 it does not save data until you click on save and then get out of the Office of palm. This is the reason why you can not sync with palm desktop, open any data that has not been registered would theoretically not sync, so to keep him from causing any problems or missing data, it is designed to be closed when HotSync.

If you need this functionality, you will need to go back to an older version of palm desktop.

  • Palm Desktop 6.2 crashing on launch with Vista

I've been using Desktop 6.2 with Vista for several months.  He seems to have been some bad old data on my TX as Desktop crashes when I go to view months in the calendar for August 2008 and earlier versions, but otherwise very good.

Starting last week, the application not fully open with a box indicating "Palm Desktop by Access has stopped working" in 1/2 second open strike.  I've been able to hotsync with no problems and no change.  I deleted the app and reinstalled after the re-download of Palm.  Also, I tried to log in as an administrator without help.

Someone at - it suggestions?  Thank you very much.

Sounds like the calendar data is currupted. Try to go in Documents on the PC, then Palm OS Desktop folder, then your Hotsync username, you should see a datebook folder, rename it. Then try to open Palm desktop and see if it works. If it does not change the conduit for synchronization and office handheld overwrits agenda. If the problem comes back, you will need DbFixIt to clean the curruption on the TX

  • items lost during upgrade to Palm Desktop 6.2.2

    Hello

Just bought a Palm Pre, unlocked, a beauty.  Wanted to move the items from my Palm Desktop to the FRONT.  During the upgrade from my old, old Desktop 4.0.4 for Desktop 6.2.2 I lost all contacts, calendar etc events.  The datebook.dat file is there, but since my old Palm Treo broke down entirely (Palm could not repair it) I could not synchronize the installation of the new software.

The question is: How can I move my items the address.dat, dateboook.dat etc. for the new version of office.

Thanks muchly for all the good advice!

    Janko

You cannot use these data files to the point 6.2.

6.2 has a format of different file than previous versions and don't recognize these files.

What I would say, it is to copy your username folder in c-program files-Palm.

Paste this folder on the Windows desktop. With the help of delete Palm desktop 6.2 Control Panel-Add/Remove programs. Re-install Palm desktop that you had previously installed. Pick up the user name folder in the folder on the drive c. open palm desktop palm and see if your data is there.

If this is the case, export your data from backup. Here is a procedure for this.

The best way to protect your data is to export the data in each category of Palm Desktop in a separate folder on your PC.

Create a new folder on your PC somewhere that suits. Name it something like Palm Desktop data. Click on the link below and follow the instructions on this page for the export procedure.

    http://www.Palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?id=28734

Make sure you only select everything for the beach in the export window.

With the data stored in the created folder, make a copy of this file and save it on a USB key, cd - rw or external hard drive.

Whenever you change in Palm Desktop, export the data that has been changed in this file and save again to external media.

With this process you can always import the data in Palm Desktop, whenever you have a problem with the data in Palm Desktop, or if your computer/hard drive/device crash.

After you have your data backed up, install Palm desktop 6.2 and if data do not migrate to 6.2, use the import function in Palm desktop.

For reference purposes, click the following link to the support page for your device on the kb.palm.com Web page.
