  What you see is not a bug in EA: no event was lost, and sensitive layout is not related to what is happening.

  When you have created symbols on the elements (in particular, put the text element in a symbol), the code and the events that you previously had on the image of apple won't work because this piece of text is so more at the same level as the Apple - it is now inside a symbol. In other words, sym. $("Text") .html ("your text here") cannot work because there is no longer a 'Text' element it at the level of the stage. The bug, as it is, was in the code used.

  When you have an element within a symbol, using getSymbol method to tackle the symbols and then address the element it contains. I think that your symbol wasn't named "Blackboard"? In this case, your code should so something like this:
