I have the latest version of Lightroom CC, but it crashes whenever I try to edit photos.

Is there a way to load LR without this option?

I am running Windows 7 with and AMD Radeon HD 5700. The drivers are up to date.

Thank you for the responses I got.

    I could solve the problem.

As I wrote it originally, I wasn't able to uncheck (untick) the "processor chart use ' ongoing enforcement because whenever I did crash.

When I loaded by LR in a first time, it was in the develop module. And I would like to quickly switch the module library because if I don't have it would soon break the program. That's when I would try to uncheck 'Use graphics processor' and it would break on this attempt.

Inadvertently, I to not click on the library module this last time but went straight to preferences and was able to uncheck 'Use Graphics Processor' without it crashing.

It seems that the solution was to stay in the develop module and make the change.

  • Black image to develop the module during the use of acceleration GPU on Macbook Pro

Since the update of Lightroom 6.6, I was see the "bug of the black image" to develop the module still very frequently.

Basically, 1/3 of my photos appear black when you view in the develop module.

If I select 'View', 'Before', the original is displayed correctly, when switching to "After" it becomes black. Even in mode split the side "Before" picture, the side is 'After' is black.

If I play with some settings and select 'Auto' the image appears correctly again.

If I disable GPU acceleration, then all images are displayed correctly, but I would use the GPU acceleration.

    Any ideas how to fix?

Is there some sort of connection that I could activate that help you solve the bug?

Until then your solution is to disable the GPU acceleration or roll back to 6.5.1. Are you using a 4 k or more display? If this isn't the case, I guess you don't see no gain in performance in any case, don't you?

  • Firefox crashes when I restart. I found an answer related to the hardware accelerator but cannot find a way to get to it?

When I close firefox and reopen it, it lights up briefly and then crash. I am able to open it by clicking on a link that requires a password and use it from there, but that takes some time and its very annoying. I have a Blocker to add and I don't want to get rid of using safe mode. I read something about turning off hardware acceleration, but when I go to tools, theres no button options. IM also using a MacBook Pro.

You can try to start Firefox in Mode safe temporarily (hold down the option key while starting Firefox) and disable hardware acceleration (Preferences dialog box > advanced > general, uncheck the "Use hardware acceleration when available"), then exit Firefox and try to run normally.

But if you can extract another thing: crash report IDs which will allow volunteers to see some of the crash reports you have submitted to Mozilla. Please check the last section of the support article "Firefox plant - troubleshoot and prevent assistance fixing crashes" for steps get these IDs crash and then after the most recent here.

  • Turn off hardware acceleration to resolve failures and defects of graphics.

A few weeks ago Thunderbird updated itself, and the life of my email went to hell. The continuous black screen. Often he was missing all the icons on e-mail records. I had often to minimize and reopen Thunderbird to see anything. I kill then restarting it maybe 8 times a day when he hooked completely. He crashed himself and sent error reports, perhaps 20 times a day. Absolutely horrible.

Finally, I found this article, which explains how to disable hardware acceleration:

    http://www.askvg.com/how-to-disable-hardware-acceleration-GPU-rendering-in-Mozilla-Firefox-4-0-to-fix-font-problem/

It worked. Apparently in one of the recent updates, enabled Thunderbird when hardware acceleration for my system, he had to be turned off. (I vaguely remember turning it off before.)

In addition, there are a simple switch off in the Options.

"Tools" > "Options" > "Advanced" > "Général" tab
    or
'Icon menu' > 'Options' > 'Options' > "Advanced" > "Général" tab

    To turn off:
Uncheck the "use hardware acceleration when available.
    Click on 'OK '.

  • Application cannot recognize the hardware acceleration, but it certainly is turned

    Hello

I'm a newbie on this forum, but I have looked around before posting my problem and could not find any solution. Maybe there is someone who can give me a hint.

Here's my problem: I have two users on my desktop pc Windows 7, two users play Farmville 2. Until the update of last week everything worked well. But now Farmville displays a message saying that hardware acceleration is turned off and the mode full screen option is not available. This applies to user 1 on firefox and chrome and user 2 on chrome only. In other words: User 2 can play in full screen mode with firefox but not with chrome.

I checked everything that mentioned on the Flash Player help page games, video or audio does not work. Windows. (The Flash Player Information bos said that my OS is Windows 7 (32 bit), although I certainly have a 64 bit OS). I removed the Flash player and re-installed and activated the hardware acceleration, which is needed to play Farmville 2 in full screen mode.

    Thanks for any help

    Werner

We actually install a Player Flash 32 and 64 bits in parallel on your machine, but one that is used depends on the number of bits in the browser host process.  Firefox is a 32-bit browser, so you're going to get Flash Player 32-bit.  I don't really know why the Flash Player entry in Control Panel includes (32-bit) in the name.  It was probably logical at the time, but that's another question entirely.  Google Chrome is a different beast and the latest versions of Chrome on Windows are 64-bit, and they include the Flash Player 64 - bit corresponding PPAPI.

In any case, I think here is if you have enabled hardware acceleration, but if hardware acceleration is not available, we probably have to index your GPU drivers because they are unstable.  The fact that happens in Chrome and Firefox in favor of the theory.  Update to the latest graphics drivers available, generally will do.

I * am * a little perplexed about why he works for a firefox user and not the other.  Firefox * fact * have a way of browser globally disable hardware acceleration.  I wonder if the affected user has this option enabled.  It's under Advanced > General > use hardware acceleration when available.  I'd be curious to know if it happens again with a fresh Firefox profile: use the Profile Manager to create and delete profiles Firefox | Firefox help

  • It seems that there is a bug in the version 38. When I open: tools::options:security: saved passwords, windows to open, but nothing moves inside the window.

the details are in the question.

Thanks for the test that. If the UI works correctly in safe mode, but not normal Mode, the main suspects would be:

    (1) graphic driver incompatibility
    (2) extensions

    At the address #1:

Try disabling Firefox to use hardware acceleration:

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced

In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.

This takes effect the next time you exit Firefox and start it again. Any difference?

    At the address #2:

Try turning off all non-essential or unrecognized extensions on page modules. Either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, in case of doubt, disable (or delete).

Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

Hi apdubois, it is useful to know that Flash is the problem but, as you point out, life without Flash is not very interactive.

It is a standard orientation that addresses the most common reasons for problems of Flash in Firefox. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:

    (1) make sure that all recorders/downloaders who interact with Flash media are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them temporarily.

    (2) disable graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox and Flash

    (A) in Firefox, uncheck the box here and restart:

the button Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) > Options > advanced > General > "use hardware acceleration when available.

    (B) in Flash, see this article from Adobe technical support: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the start safe mode window or make changes.
