Problem installing the blackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Desktop Manager 5.0 syncronization

I just installed Desktop Manager on a computer running XP. It loads well, but when I try to set up the synchronization that it crosses all the way says congratulations you have configured the product, and then you click Finish and it is said that another system has not been selected. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it doesn't work. Any help?

Hi and welcome to the Forums! I can't tell if you tried this comprehensive procedure yet, so I'll give it to you to try...

I suggest the following steps (reboot insert a lot of restarting your PC... not only restarts, but at full power down). In addition, it is recommended that you are connected to the PC on an account with full administrator rights. In addition, Vista, use the option "Run As Administrator" for everything.

(1) remove the package to update your device OS of your PC (Add/Remove Programs)

(2) properly uninstall the RIM DTM software:

  • KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software

(3) get a new RIM DTM software download:

  • Choose the version which is more recent and (if any) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchornizing via USB):
  • KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager to synchronize

(4) to download a new copy of your package to your carrier OS device (on your PC):

(5) install DTM on your PC

Installation of 6) (also on your PC), device OS package

(7) start the configuration Organizer:

  • KB17022 How to configure applications to Organizer for synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Manager

If all goes well, who's going to make things again.

Good luck and let us know!

  • As part of the Blackberry Desktop Manager software blackBerry Smartphones calendar

    Hi all

It would be a good idea to have the BB calendar as part of the Blackberry Desktop Manager software, then head of could be made on the PC and then synchronize with a BB or vice versa all.

I don't have a company server, simply old MS Outlook on my PC.

    Kind regards

    Leslie.

    Hello

As what I suppose be a business strategy, RIM specifically does not provide a PIM/Organizer with their software. Rather, they provide guidance to PIMs different so that the user has the choice as to which PIM they prefer. See the matrix for which PIMs are supported by different versions of the RIM DTM software:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB12268&sliceId=1&docTy...

BES is not required to synchronize a calendar with a BB. Indeed, you can synchronize with the tools available today, two-way calendar, contacts, email, etc. etc. etc.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones is it possible to see my phone numbers and addresses I saved in the blackberry Desktop Manager

I know it's maybe a silly question - but I was finally able to download the blackberry Desktop Manager and then back up all the data from my blackberry to my computer via Desktop Manager.  For my own peace of mind, I would like to see some of these data (addresses and phone numbers) just to make sure I did the back up properly.  Is this possible?

Well, your confidence level in the backup process is your own to define. Maybe if you start the restore process, but do not actually run it, DTM might give you indications of what it contains. I agree that I saw the posts of others who say that the backup was useless... but I have no way of judging if their characteristics are identical to yours.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones updated using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager - VERY slow!

    Hello

    Brand-new Blackberry.

Updated the OS on my 8530 using the Desktop Manager software version 5.0.1 pc and the usb to the phone connector. I started at 11:00 this morning. It's now almost 15:00.

It always shows 346 528 modules in the device software download part of the process. At this point, it's a failure... But he said not to disconnect your device... or other.  What now? Very disappointing.

'Now for the future... ". I do NOT recommend the use of desktop upgrade of the Unit Manager, ever. It is simply too buggy and too many things can go wrong happen with which you have no control. »

I tried the update site as you said but made the mistake of direct download instead of dl to pc and then to the phone as you said. Then... Well, I found the best way yet: I'll take it to the Verizon store and ask them to do every time. I'm a pretty grumpy guy, being a programmer and all except... I just haven't the patience or willingness to spend that kind of time with a phone. I mean - it's a phone. Really?

  • My Blackberry BlackBerry Smartphones will not end back up in the Blackberry Desktop Manager

I had problems with my blackberry as it was crashing every few minutes. I want back the shop but I need to back it up and he did not finish the back upward. What should I do? I don't want to lose all my contacts and messages!

    Hi eve9790

Trun first syncing wireless Contact. , to do this open your address book or Contacts - press the menu key > Options > contacts (email id) list, click on it - then sure uncheck the wireless sync, then save the screen.

After that you can try to back up your contacts.

    eve9790 wrote:

If they are saved on my email I'm guaranteed to get them on my new phone or should I remove them from the email and save them? If so how to do that?

If you have sync and stored your contacts with any email account, if you reconfigure this particular e-mail account in your new device, then you can then.

But have you tried to run these steps I have already suggested, first turn off wireless sync, and then perform a backup full after the removal of these social feeds database.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones locked out of my phone because of incorrect passwords in the blackberry Desktop Manager

As the title says, I made a horrible mistake after the phone just for 4 hours.

At the present time, my phone is turned on, a white screen on it, and with what seems a little 'X' thingy in the middle with locks on it and a charger gradually slower and slower (0% - 100%).

Is anyway to fix this without carrying the phone to technical support?

Hello and welcome to the community!

Looks like you entered the password wrong too many times. Therefore, the BB is wiping clean of all your data. Once completed, it should be just as he came to you... and you can start over.

    Good luck!

  • S of Smartphones Conncection blackBerry Desktop Manager and Blackberry Storm problems

Hi, Newbie question!  My storm will not connect to the Blackberry Desktop Manager (although once the reinstallation of the desktop) on my low-end pc screen to the right icon indicates the gray phone and says offline - Desktop Manager.

In the Desktop Manager I activated the USB - (the PIN code is correct) but that the setting must be activated whenever I open the Desktop Manager.

I have run the office and then place the storm in the cradle.  Windows recognizes that the device has been connected.  The storm screen becomes white and connect to the office... messages and there it remains stuck.  The only way I can get the storm to work again is to ride the battery pull (thanks for the tip, BTW).  Is there something that I should activate first on the storm?  The storm is for personal use only and is not connected with any company/server, etc.  Suggestions or a fix would be welcome.

Hi, thanks for this! I found a different solution on another forum that worked. It's OK for my Windows XP SP3 but I don't know if it will work with Vista.

    1. Download the latest BB Desktop software for your region/carrier and save to the desktop.
    2. Right click on the exe file.
    3. New box appears: right click on "Run As"... "then left click on 'run '.
    4. New dialog box is displayed.  Hold the current user radio button, but uncheck "protect my computer and data from unauthorized program activity.
    5. Install the software following all the usal prompts that may appear.

I then stopped the automatic start of programs for the Office Manager, so it does not raise upward when the pc is turned on.

Now, I first connect the BB Storm to the pc and then manually start Desktop Manager: office and the BB Storm now connect to another.  Works for me, so I hope this is helpful to someone else pulling their hair!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Desktop Manager shows no Media Manager

First of all, let me say I am a NEW Blackberry user, my husband and I both has recently obtained new Blackberry 8310 curves.

When I installed the disc that came with the phone, the Blackberry Desktop Manager doesn't have the "Media Manager" as one of the choices, as demonstrated on all brochures and tutorials. I even re-installed the program, thinking perhaps it didn't download completely the first time, but he always comes by showing only these 4:

Synchronization, backup & restore, Application Loader and switch device Wizard...

All the indications I have received show that I can easily add pictures and music by simply clicking on Media Manager, but he's not just here.

Here is the info on the installation disc that we received with our phones, supposed to be the good news and the latest versions...

    BlackBerry Desktop Manager

    version 4.3.0.17 (Nov.12, 2007)

    RIM USB Serial Driver... 2.1.0.4

    Application application Loader loader... 4.3.0.13

Seriously, none of them really means a lot to me, I just click on something and make it work...  I tried to 'upgrade' to a newer version, and I got the message that the version I had was the most recent, so now what?

I have cards memory inserted in the phone(s).

I would appreciate any help with this, I am really frustrated. I figured out how to move the files manually, but I don't understand why it is not appear as shown in the manuals of instructions and tutorials online.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones and Desktop Manager Device Manager

I'm confused. Is there a BlackBerry Desktop Manager and BlackBerry Device Manager? I have always used the BB Desktop Manager when I can't get a client device to synchronize properly by enabling wireless. So, what is the difference and where can I get the Device Manager?

you have a desktop software package that includes:

    • Device Manager (for tethering for example)
    • Pack Desktop Manager

    the Desktop Manager pack contains:

    • BlackBerry Desktop Manager only
    • Roxio Media Player (optional)
    • BlackBerry Media Sync (optional)

    the BlackBerry Desktop Manager includes:

    • a module of configuration BES or BIS (but not both)
    • a module to synchronize databases with a PIM desktop like Microsoft Outlook or IBM Lotus Notes (contacts, tasks, calendar)
    • backup / restore of module
    • an Application Loader module (which acts both as an installer of the OS and a theme/app Installer)

on top of all that you have drivers USB BlackBerry for BlackBerry devices.

  • Application error program compatibility Blackberry Desktop Manager

I tried several times to download and run the desktop for blackberry, but after the Download Manager, it refuses to start. It displays an error message saying that it is not a valid win32 application... I need an urgent solution to this problem, because it is really frustrating. Thank you.

    Hi Said,

What version of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager software you are trying to install?

I suggest to install the latest version of the software from the following link and check.

    https://swdownloads.BlackBerry.com/downloads/contactFormPreload.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22&DL=A2C0D61EB187AB3AFD247A852FAD3647

First check if the id of the system meets the minimum requirements to install the application.

    http://in.BlackBerry.com/software/desktop/desktop-PC/system-requirements.html

If it meets the requirements of the system, then follow these methods one after the other and check.

    Method 1:

You can try to install the application in the State of clean boot and check.

Clean boot: To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
