workstation installed on workstation running, installed xp installation disk, identified workstation disk to install xp but have not installed xp.  See attached message received when turned on the virtual machine.  any help would be appreciated...

Ken,

you have another CD or ISO file you know is bootable? Try to start the virtual machine with it attached. If it works, the Windows CD that is not bootable.

BTW: When you created the virtual machine, you chose the 'Easy Install' function? If so, create an another VM without selecting this option.

  • 11 - k000na: problem of restart of the operating system after disk erasing

Hi there are members of the HP support forum!

I bought my product, the HP Pavillion 11-k000na, in October of last year and around in time to March this year, I found the speed of the computer to be really bad, so I decided that I do a disk cleanup and restore the computer to factory settings I've done. Restart the computer, I discovered that something has gone wrong and after many failed attempts I could not restart the operating system.

Time and time again, the laptop gives me the same error - message

    Error code 0 xC0000001

When I bought the computer it came installed with windows 8 and I've quickly updated to windows 10, would be the problem that when I restored it to factory settings, it does not know how to restart now?

Any help would be really useful thanks!

    Hello

On the upgrade of Windows 8 to 10, built in recovery partition got corrupted and will stop running more.

    How do you reset phone?

Only I know is to order for your model of HP USB recovery. Or pure 8.1 Windows update install using Windows Media creation tool. Both methods retrieve product key of activation of the Board BIOS chip, automatically and be activated.

  • Cannot resize the setup of the operating system prompt

    HOS: Ubuntu 13.10

Tried to install SolydXx64 August. (it's Debian testing clone - kernel 3.9.x)

It's the only host OS include like this so if someone gets the option to install do SolydX me know if you encounter this problem.

SolydX uses a graphical installer and starts with a live CD desktop (XFCE).  The Office seems quite normal (resolutions are correct for all the icons and the taskbar).  When I try to install the OS on the drive of the size of the windows installer makes it impossible to access the button continue in the first selection of the language appears.  The window can be moved, but can not be resized - installation can not continue - I couldn't go to the definition of connection screen. I support on enter on each screen, if I could but setting the right time zone was impossible.  FWIW SolydX installation program has been correctly sized in VirtualBox.

It doesn't seem to be an option for a command line installation.

I wanted to test this distro to see if the VMware Tools had the same problems as a guest of Debian Testing.

    Ideas for a workaround?

BTW the Debian install graphical was very good.

I forgot to add that the physical monitor has a native 1920 x 1080 resolution if it matters (no not before).  NVIDIA 650 graphics card

And yes I tried to stretch and then autosize display - no luck

Well, I downloaded the ISO Image and it validated against its MD5 checksum published and then had no problems installing SolydXK during the definition of as low as 1024 x 768 prompt.  I tried with VMware Player and VMware Workstation on Windows and Ubuntu Linux and VMware Fusion in OS X.  So in the circumstances, I'm not sure I see it as a VMware issue however without additional testing, I really do not have time to do, so I can't be totally sure of that.

That said, if you mainly want to use the keyboard to install, then here are the steps...

As soon as the installation of SolydXK screen...

    Language

Tab 3 times and press ENTER...

With the mouse, do a right-click on a device to assign this device to the root (/).  (I chose/dev/sda2 selection: assign to /)  BTW, it was the only place that I had to use the mouse.

Then tab 5 times and press ENTER...

  • WeatherBug: App incompatible with the installed version of the operating system (HP Slate 7)

    Greetings!

First post of this forum and a relatively new user of any kind of Tablet.  Yes, sorry if I miss some "Exchange of detachment" to ask for the help.

There is a NEW Tablet and after download/installation of operating system updates, went to download WeatherBug on Store.  WeatherBug was not available.

I found an alternative download site, but was messaged that the version is not compatible.

It seems strange that I've installed WeatherBug on all everything I have.

    Android version: 4.1.1

    Kernel Version 3.0.8.

    Build number: HP_Slate7 v1.05.8_user

    Thank you!

Hello BigSkyMike, welcome to the HP support community!

Unfortunately, since the Slate7 has no built-in GPS chip, programs are written and require the chip will be displayed as "incompatible".

There are solutions, and these have been discussed in other threads like this one:

  • What support VMware Windows 7 as a guest host and Windows Server 2003 as the operating system operating system?

    People,

    Hello.

Because my laptop is preinstalled Windows 7 and cannot dual boot multiple operating systems. I need to install VMware in Windows 7 host and then install Windows Server 2003 as a guest operating system.

I installed VMware Server 2.0.2 in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2003 operating system as a guest host. Everything works fine for a while. But VMware Server Home Page https://mylaptop:8333 / IU cannot display more.

I found that Windows 7 is not a host for VMware Server 2 and strange operating system might happen at any time. I found that 'VMware Player 3' is fully supported in Windows 7 as host operating system but is not taken in charge of Windows Server 2003 as a guest operating system.

People knows what product VMware Windows 7 support as host operating system and Windows Server 2003 as the operating system prompted?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

IMHO, I think that Workstation is the vmware product just for you, the requirements

It supports Windows 7 as a facilitator and Windows 2003 as a host with no problems. You can be confident about it at 100%.

  • The recovery disks 2 wear all of the operating system?

I have an old HP Pavilion a1220in PC running Windows XP Media Center Edition. I also found a set of recovery disks in the box.

I've had a lot of problems with my OS now, for most trolling, hanging, etc. So, I ran a few Cache cleaning applications and cleaned. Tried to use Antivirus, but it gets even slower PC, so I left this option. Once he went continuously bootloops, which was the first time I used the recovery disc. There were two options, the only thing that I can remember in their subject is one killed all the data and the other is not.

Once, the score (who wore the recovery image) has been altered and the same problem of bootloop took place again once, so this time I could not choose recover the PC. The only option he gave me was that destroyed all the data.

Now, I want to change the operating system for some versions of Linux. But before that, I want to know that where I want to go back to Windows, will these DVDs help me? I mean, they will be able to install all of the operating system for me?

After the new facility and all new updates, I have 25 GB of free space. I would like to know if I can install new programs on my drive d: and no filling of drive c: for the ability

    Hello

Thanks for posting this question in the Microsoft Community Forums.

I see you want to know if you can install programs on a drive with no operating system.

I wish to inform you that this is possible with only specific programs, which give the user an option to choose where the program is installed.

When a program is installed, it runs in program files, which lies in the operating system drive and can not be moved elsewhere.

    Hello

These are forums for Vista, so vista information is provided

Here are the different ways to reinstall Vista

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

    ____________________________________________________________

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

    __________________________________________________________

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

  • When installing a new operating system isn't automatically wipe the hard disk, create a new partition, and then install the operating system?

Have a Dell system, caught a virus and it has really messed up the PC. Recently, it got worse so I tried to reinstall the operating system with the Dell disks. It wouldn't work. So I bought for Windows 7 Professional, it will not be installed. My first question when installing a new operating system isn't automatically wipe the hard disk, create a new partition, and then install the operating system? Because this does the same as the Dell disks, is to take what is on the hard drive and put it in a folder called windows old, is not formatting the HD. When I boot the disk, it shows the installation of files then open windows and start the installation. Before he could finish I get an error missing or corrupted files. Tried several times now, windows will still not open. Any suggestions? Once while trying to install the pc crashed with a blue screen which is one of the reasons why I have reinstall the OS, he started to plant a few times. I don't remember all the details on my PC, but its 4 years, triple core coprocessors, ram 8 GB, 500 GB HD. At the same time just after all this started in Jan. I had also improved my 3 GB to 8 GB memory. I bought the Dell memory for my system. Since the crash, could there be a problem with these new memory chips? Last night I tried to disassemble each and reinstalling it, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Before I tried to reinstall the operating system, the pc was see the concert 8.

Disconnect any other (additional) internal hard drives and external USB devices.
Look for any loose hard drive power or cables SATA, graphics card or other power cables.

    First run Memtest86 +:
It runs from a floppy disk or CD and should eliminate or confirm if one or more of your memory
sticks are bad or the values of the SPD in the BIOS are correct.
Let it run for as long as you can: 2,4,6,8 or several hours (at least 3 full passes), so no errors at that time then your ram is OK.

  • My computer has been infected recently with Sirefef (AB and W variants). How will I know if I do a backup/clean install of the operating system or not?

As says the question: my computer has been infected recently with Sirefef (AB and W variants).  How will I know if I do a backup/clean install of the operating system or not?

I'm running a full system scan in ESM right now, and it has detected multiple instances of sirefef.   I have remove as they pop up, but I'm afraid that when I run another scan they all will always be there.  Is there a way to know if MSE is actually remove them and he cleaning?  If not, should I do a back up and reinstall the OS?

Thank you.  I can choose to try this, however, I would like an answer to my other questions first.

Sirefef is a rootkit and yes he can hide in your system.  This is why it has been suggested that you may need to reformat/reinstall.  In fact, it's the only way to eliminate malware.  Multiple scans with several scanners and no conclusion malware probably indicate he disappeared, but the key word is "probably".  Malwarebytes is good and what he finds now may be traces of the infection, but what he finds perhaps not active more - it is always good to run the scans so.

What spare drive did you run?  What scanners did you use?  See again you and follow the guide "Malwaretips"?

For the firewall problem, you can try the following Microsoft Fixit.

Diagnose and automatically fix problems of Windows Firewall service

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_firewall_diagnostic/en-us

One of the users of the Forum answers maintains that a great guide on information security is important for understanding the removal of malicious software.  See the following compliments of Brian M - for suggestions on how to solve your problem: http://www.selectrealsecurity.com/malware-removal-guide/#after see: after the removal process and solve the problems of Post disinfection

Uninstall/reinstall of MSE is how?  All the problems?  Have you tested MSE with eicar to be sure it's working?

Assume that you have not had an opportunity to review the MSE Installation Checklist or you would have noted that MSE and Windows Defender cannot be used on the same computer.  So if WD works in fact it means MSE has been disabled/not not work correctly or not installed.

See the next WD re: Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials
