• Problem with the auto-merge layers

  Hello

  I wanted to make a face swapping with the function of auto-merge layers, but I (or he) fails. I have attached the screenshot of a few celebrities at random for example, but I get similar results with each photo. I think, I'm doing everything according to tutorials, working with RGB, 8 bit, also reset the preferences.

  I recently downloaded Adobe CC 2015... Face serious problems with the PS when I try to superimpose images.

  
  

  Here are the steps I followed:

  1. file-> Scripts-> battery files

  2. five selected. CR2 files (average size 28 MB)

  3. click on Ok

  4. once photoshop has completed her treatment, selected layers and Edit-> auto-merge the layers-> stack of Images

  Please note that I followed the same steps in converting the CR2s in JPEG... same error result

  I guess the real problem here is the drive working, not RAM. They both found messages 'insufficient memory '.

  Historically, Photoshop has always been remarkably well with large files and little RAM. Excess data which cannot be held in RAM are written to the drive to work, and even if it slows down things considerably, it really requires a lot to run Photoshop to a complete stop.

  Of course, you must move to a 64-bit version of Windows. As it is, Photoshop can use less than 2 of your installed 8 GB of RAM. It's not much, but do not attempt to allocate more than 70% in the PS preferences. Process of the operating system and other applications need RAM too. Allowance too will choke the rest of your system and send it to pimples without end-of-file exchange.

• Problem with layers

  Hi all

  I'm having a problem with layers and have been racking my brain trying to figure out all day. Here's the thing:

  I have a widget of particles on a single layer. The layer above it, has my Gallery thumb nails. The particles are still show if they are on the top layer.

  Is there a fix, something with the widget, or is there a step I'm missing?

  I do not use the widget but guess it keeps track of your cursor to work... the life of cursor over each layer

  You can try to put the widget on a master pager and the other images on the homepage... in code terms a master page is lower, but this is my only idea.

  I'm curious about something and can't seem to find an answer...

  Merged layers before saving the image for the web mark the file size more small?

  Or is - not important how many layers (open) the image has when comes time to save it for the web?

  If you group before you save it to the web you loos your layers, your work.  If you use save for web or save an image file in a file format that does not support layers such as Jpeg and PNG. Photoshop will temporary flatten the depth of color change of current of 8 bits if you need document be, possibly convert to sRGB color space then encode images in the file format wished to record, write the file, then restore your document to the State it was before you did save it for web or save as.  You can then keep you work by saving the document in a file format that supports layers, PSD, PSB or Tiff.

  In Photoshop, you can use automatic alignment of layers and auto-merge layers, then to select the region which is under discussion in each layer. How can I do the same thing in PSE 9?  Thank you.

• How to merge layers?

  I used Photoshop for 20 years, but sporadically. I know enough to be dangerous. Recently started working on a simple logo for my religious group. It's all shades of gray, with thin horizontal lines or thicken to reveal a form. Dummy me, I was in such a great hurry that I just started to draw lines like crazy, then stopped and saw that Photoshop had put faithfully each new line on its own layer. Well, I've been though I remembered past, use one of the options in the palette layers "Merge down". But when I looked for it, it wasn't there. Imagine this feature? How to choose a layer group and make them become a layer? Moreover, given that my Photoshop needs are pretty basic, I have never updated since version 7.

  Related to merger was in older versions and forgot where they changed it. My menu says "Merge layers" instead. The shortcut key is Ctrl + E and I always use it to merge to the bottom of a group or the active layer with the layer below or selected layers and groups. I think they took the related functionality when they introduced the selection of several layers.

  Several layers that can be selected in the Panel layer with shift + click to select/deselect beach or Ctrl + click to add/remove a layer selection...

  Also, shift + click with tool selects move layers directly on the canvas Image and also by dragging a selection box at the start of the spot or locked layer completely transparent, selects all layers unlocked in the selection box.

• Problem: Blending options change when the merged layers

  Hello.

  I have a problem with the merge options. When I merge two files that both have effects, I get a layer display does not resemble the front. It looks like some options I applied seems to be 30% of what they were. For example, I got a text in a single layer with bevel and applied stamping and another layer (bottom box) with shadow bevel and inner. Now, when I merge these two, I can see looking bevel effect as the opacity is set to 30% for them, the text and the background remaining intact. Effect similarly degraded and not the shadow that was applied as weel looks like changed, but change the bevel cut.

  I noticed that if I turn this layer with the effect bevel in smart object, same thing happened. But even once, gradient stay unmodified.

  The general mix options are by default, normal mode, opacity 100, complete knockout 100, opacity, none, RGB, mix of Cup and the form of transparency is checked on. I didn't change anything there.

  Bevel options are: Pillow emboss, smooth, 100% depth, direction up, size 4, soften 0, angle 90, altitude 30...

  Any help?

• Performance of Photoshop automatic CC 2015 merging layers

  Hey, all! Y at - it all I can change the settings to improve the performance of automatic mixture so it does not freeze when I try to update stack? I had this problem since upgrade CS6 CC (and now CC 2015). I already read all the answers "CC works differently, it's more intense, you need to update your computer, etc." others received. I just want some advice on settings within Photoshop (or Windows) that pourrait improve performance, if there is?

  
  

  I'm on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit Intel i7-2600 3,40 GHz RAM 8 GB. I have other apps running when I use Photoshop except Chrome. I work mainly with ProPhoto RGB 16-bit images and having trouble with all the features except the automatic merging. With CC 2014, it would sometimes slow at first, then finish in minutes. Most of the time, it would freeze and force me to leave him alone until he ended up perhaps 20 minutes later. Rarely, I'll be back in an hour, and it would be still frozen so I just close force.

  
  

  CC 2015 seems worse. I had to force close each image I tried to focus far stack (without welding on as usual, content aware off). I go to 8-bit sRGB or smaller pixels to speed things up, but in my case, I need to improve performance with my images as they are.

  To study, I tried with pictures I did successfully two days earlier with CC 2014 before the upgrade. I have loaded 2 pictures full frame a red stack flower macro (align checked because I have noticed no difference in alignment as a separate operation). 2014 and 2015, they had loaded and fast alignment. Then I chose the automatic mix. I've counted 5 minutes for 2015 and remember, 2014 being the same.

  So I tried with another set. Loading of 7 images of pendant on a chain on a white background, the same process. The pendant takes only 1/4 of the image. 2014 struggled with 7 layers, but it finally finished (I don't count, but he fell between 20 to 60 minutes). 2015 has not been able to do it at all. I have to keep the closing force. I tried only 2 loading images since he managed 2 layers with the flower. It took 35 minutes.

  
  

  Curious, I tried other series of shots of this pendant on white that I was going to update stack and he was not able to perform one of these either or it took over half an hour just to the two layers. Experience somehow makes it more difficult for auto blend? Because the pendant itself does not have a lot of details to work with. In any case, if I come to 2014, I'll do it, but for now, I would take some tips on all the settings I can shape that might help 2015 along.

  Hmmm, how big are the files that you use? Are these files from say the D810 or 5DS (r)? If so, they may indeed be just too much for your system to be managed.

  Edit: I just saw your cache level is set to 2 - maybe try something like 4. And work a little more of your RAM.

  I have merged successfully publishes in this file before, but now when I try to merge, the application crashes and gives me the following error message: [ICEMC/checkPIForLinkChanges] TypeError: Error # 1006: value is not a function. I'm on the current version of CC2015.

  Thanks for responding. I found the problem. My customer made changes using editing in the browser, and she tried to incorporate videos on one of the pages. Once she released them, the arrested Muse file crashing, and I was able to merge all the other changes.

  Lesson learned!

  This may sound can resemble a question very amateur, but I am inexperienced with this program, Adobe after effects CC. Is it possible to merge all my layers into a single layer?

  First select all your layers... I'm on a Mac, so I hold the SHIFT key, and then left click on my mouse to select the layers that I brought to compose before. They are all highlighted (looking grayish) right-click on your mouse on the selected layers and a tab will pop up, scroll and click on pre dial. You can change the name of the composition before of all your layers in the tab at the top. And then click ok. When you are finished, you can always double click on the new computer to see what's inside

• How to merge layers in Draw?

  I enjoy using draw, but cannot find a way to "merge down" a layer as I used to in ideas. It is a really essential feature in my workflow. Am I missing something obvious, or this feature has been removed?

  Layers merge is still possible in the draw. Press the icon «...» "on the right side of the layer you want to"merge down ". Then, press the third icon from the left. You should see a pop-up window that gives you the choice to return the layer horizontally, return the layer vertically or merge the layer than below.

  convert to smart object layers, and then add a smart object layer mask.

  Hello, could you post a screenshot of what you get, or describe the file? Are the two forms on different layers?

  If they are on different layers, just multiple layers and use CTRL + e. Note that their stroke and fill are those of the top layer.

  To combine the sub-paths, look at the options that you will find under this button on the shape tool options bar:

  The last of them will create a unique shape.

• Problem of layers and selections in the PS CS3 document

  I have a CMYK document with approximately 12 adjustment layers, more with selection masks.  I need to make some changes, but I feel a strange behavior:

  (1) normally, when I click on layers, they are highlighted in color.  With this document, when I click on them they are highlighted in light gray.

  (2) I can not load a selection to a layer, it always chooses everything, not the selection of layer mask.

  (3) when I have the background (or any other image layer) selected, the magic wand tool does not work properly.  When I click once he chooses as expected, but if I hold down the SHIFT key to add to the selection and click it again selects all.  However, if I have a selected adjustment layer MW tool seems to behave normally.

  Other documents that I opened did not have these problems and seem to behave normally.

  I tried to save a copy of the file and opening and to quit and re-launch of the PS, nor helped.

  Looks like you may have accidentally hit the Q key, activate the Quick Mask mode. Simply press the Q button to fix :-)
