• Audio problem with Dell Latitude E6420 and Windows 8.1

  I installed Windows 8.1 on my Latitude E6420 and I can get the sound to work. I installed the drivers available for Windows 8, but he doesn't play any sounds.   Hello. See here for a list of Dell of the models that work with 8 and 8.1. Dell recommends not installing 8.1 on the Latitude E6420 model. Dell said 8 is correct but does not provide an audio driver IDT even for 8. I don't think that there will be provided by any Dell IDT audio driver for 8.1 since it is not recommended to install. This means that you must use the native audio driver supplied with Windows. The native driver is generic and you can usually get audio to work when using it but not all functions are working properly. All I can suggest is to find the generic audio driver in Device Manager (I don't know how it is in the list) and try to 'update' by allowing Windows to search for an update on the internet.

  Maybe someone at our Windows 8 jury can suggest an audio driver IDT, you can try to use. If you post here tell them that you already posted on the Audio card to the laptop so that they will not move your message here.

  It is a known problem with the E6420 14 "laptop and the Quad core CPU. I have an E6420 and E6520. The E6520 manages the heat much better and higher out of GPU and 95 c 85 CPU when you run Diablo 3 for an hour on the resolution max and max graphics settings.   My laptop comes with the heatpipe heatsink only, he would downclock the CPU because of excessive heat and same judgment. After I got the radiator double pipe with a new thermal pad, my time is up to 100 ° C max on CPU and GPU and cell phone stops is more due to overheating.

  The problem is Dell packed plenty of power in a computer 14 "laptop. When running at load max, the cooling system can not just keep it up.   To be honest, I don t think that sleep & service or this service would affect the features of webcam.
  TOSHIBA sleep utility allows you to charge USB devices such as a cell phone with the computer in standby mode or even stop mode. This is why there should be no link between this function and webcam

  I can't say with certainty what's going wrong with your internal webcam but the fact is that in many cases the webcam and sleep function & load could be turned on and off in the BIOS.

  In my opinion, you should perform a few checks.
  First set the default BIOS settings (load default by pressing F9) and check if the webcam is enabled in the BIOS.

  Second if you think that there is still a link between sleep and charge function and the webcam, then disable the sleep and the load in the BIOS, just to check if it will make a difference.

  Of course external webcams supporting a higher resolution would provide the best image quality but external webcam are much larger than the internal webcam modules.

  Remove the old software and the driver for the system.
  Go to the Toshiba European page and download the latest software for a chicony and the driver.
  Then install on the laptop and enjoy.

  Notes; Restart the laptop everytime after reinstalling the driver.

  I am running Windows 8 Preview Release + GTR (installed on two separate partitions) on my X230T. However, I have a problem that the built-in webcam gives me a reverse vertically (top to bottom) image. I tried to change ones Win8 beta drivers and the stock Win7 ones, and on the two installs it always gives me an inverted image.

  I don't find any option to reverse the image, is there any patch because it makes video Skype calls impossible? Would it be possible that my machine literally has the camera physically installed backwards?

  1. Download Skype Desktop instead of Skype app metro

  2. go in the Skype video setting
