problem of NTVDM.exe in virtual XP mode

We organize a virtual DOS Windows XP program and the rest of the programs that we run in Windows 7.  Recently we received the following message, NTVDM. EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience. "This happens at times when in the program (which requires a status report on a job, or in a job cost validation), and the program then stops.  You did not notice it until recently.  Can you help us?

  • NTVDM.exe. trouble message I said: "16-bit MS-DOS subsystem" then C:\Windows\sustem32\ntvdm.exe error while setting up environment for the application

I can not also with ntvdm.exe. I'm no computer expert. The message said: "16-bit MS-DOS subsystem" (this on the header of the window). Then the message is C:\Windows\sustem32\ntvdm.exe error when defining the application environment.

I already did a sfc/scannow and Windows Resource Protection did not find any breach of integrity.

I'm trying to run an application on this website http://www.ray-ban.com/international/science/virtual-mirror.

    I'd appreciate any help.

    Best regards

    Hello
You are able to use your applications without problem?

To check what is causing the problem, try the following steps:

1:NTVDM method is bound to display drivers for nVidia.I suggest you to update display drivers on the manufacturer's Web site

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

    Method 2: Clean boot

Put the computer in a clean boot (namely if any third-party software hinders the process)
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Check with step 1 (run a clean boot):-If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem.
Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service.

Note: After you find the program causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program and also don't forget to put the computer to a normal startup.

3:Disable method and then check the firewall/security software on the system tray.
Note: Activate the security software after the test

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes to the computer before that happened?

    2. Once you get this error message?

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Try scanner SFC [SFC system] on the computer that would be a system file corrupt on the computer search and replace.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

    Method 2:

Also try to set up your computer in a clean boot state, and check if the same issue occurs.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

    Method 3:

Try to scan your hard disk from the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

  • NTVDM.exe is suspended.

    Windows XP Pro SP3.
NTVDM.exe has suddenly stopped working if I run cmd.exe or command.com.  No error message, no prompt, just a blinking cursor.  If I run cmd.exe orders BACK internal DIR & CD work fine, but when I try to run one of my programs ntvdm.exe BACK starts and crashes.  When I run command.com ntvdm.exe starts immediately and crashes.

It started when I installed a trial version of Nero 9 CD burner.  I discovered this problem and uninstalled Nero 9 about 2 hours later, but the problem persists.  The crew of Nero tech support had me do a scan and send it to them, but concluded that it did nothing to my computer to cause this problem.  I noticed that I have an empty folder named WindowsPowerShell in the windows\system32 directory, but I don't know if it's there before installing Nero 9.  I never used it.  I also noticed that there are no dosx.exe in the windows\system\32 directory.  I copied the \dllcache folder and that made no difference.  Seven weeks to research on the net has produced nothing.  I discovered yesterday the Process Monitor from Sysinternals and installed.  Exciting program!  After scanning through thousands of lines of events after ntvdm.exe begins until it crashes, several times, the only thing I found is an 'access denied' something done ntvdm.exe.  I don't remember the details.  None of the missing files.

It drives me crazy!  You can provide any help will be greatly appreciated!

  • NTVDM.exe uses the power of the cpu.

Running xp pro and it is slow. I noticed that 2 entries in the list of processes are the same and each medium 45-50 on the capacity of the CPU. They both show as ntvdm.exe.    I never noticed this file before running. I notice also under applications running that it lists nwwia. I don't know what it is and it obviously doesn't work, but my CPU usage remains at 100%, almost all the time now. Someone help?

Windows Update has helpded me to solve this problem.

  • Lsass.exe in Windows safe mode system error.

Lsass.exe in Windows safe mode system error.  I tried to repair and recovery of Windows and he persists?  Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Most of lsass.exe errors, if this is the result of malware, is the result of a corrupted registry, specifically in the security hive.

    Follow the steps described here.

You can also try running chkdsk & an System File Checker analysis if the registry repair does not resolve the issue.

    Suggestions:

1.) closed try that program and reboot again.
As I understand it, NTVDM.exe stops because a statement, it cannot pass the operating system.

2.) right click the program > properties > compatibility > run this program as administrator > OK

  • Hibernating virtual XP mode a message displays the standard deviation of CPU

My Windows 7 has an XP mode VM hibernating works fine until I update my computer with a newer processor now when I try running VM pop a message: ' Windows XP Mode'could not be restored because of the type of host processor mismatch or lack of in the system hardware-assisted virtualization support "I think what I need is to reset this virtual machine to redo the setting, can someone help me? Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.
You must enable hardware virtualization assisted from the BIOS. For the procedure, see the manual of your PC.
If this fails to solve the problem, you must reset the virtual machine.
Usually, when all important hardware, CPU, RAM or motherboard is upgraded, Hibernate will not resume. So, before you do the upgrade of the above mentioned components, please shut down the PC (even if it is virtual) and then proceed to the improvement.
  • Convert a physical compatibility mode raw device mapping to a virtual compatibility mode raw device mapping

    Hello forum,.

I have a virtual machine that got a RDM in physical Compatibility Mode, so I can't create snapshots of this disc.

Is there a way to convert this ROW to a virtual Compatibility Mode to allow the creation of the snapshot?

The client must create a snapshot tomorrow in order to update the database. In case of failure it would be easy to write the snapshot again.

    Hope you understand my problem.

    concerning

    Dennis

Assuming that the RDM is attached to a single virtual computer, see http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1006599

Conversely, virtual and physical memory ROW, make sure you have deleted (Clerk) the snapshot before you remove the disk devices to the virtual machine, otherwise you will lose changed data!
