problem of SDXC

I have a 64 GB sdxc card that gives me problems. I can save the pictures in my camera, but when I insert it into my card reader I get the error message "the disk you inserted is not readable by this computer." The map came from Adorama, which is a good reputation with a long history. The card reader is a new dual disk Lexar USB 3 and reads my 32 GB sdhc dics and CF disks very well. The computer is an Intel Mac running 10.5.8. The software includes the Capture of Image, Photoshop and Lightroom. Tried the utility disk to no effect. Assume that it is the size of the card that gives me problems?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is not the size of the card, as long as it's the SDXC format. It is a format brand new who reads only XC devices. And they are rare at this stage in the part of technology development. You should probably update your computer, or wait for the rest of the industry to catch up with this latest advent.

Theoretically, you could re - format it in NTFS for better compatibility with other devices until there, but it's impossible if you cannot connect to a computer that can do it in the first place.

  • Extremely slow SD card

Hi all! I'm having some problems currently with my Z5 Compact and SD card storage.

I used to have a Sandisk Extreme 32 GB microSDHC card in my Z5C without problem for more than six months. About a month ago, I wanted to replace it with a Sandisk Ultra 64 GB adapters, and I have extreme with speed and battery problems whenever I try to use it.

Some examples: when the camera app is set to store pictures and videos on the SD card, just start the camera application sometimes takes forever. The taking and recording of images is slow. In some cases, the animation of rotating savings appear for about 20 seconds, and finally the picture is still not stored on the card and lost. Spotify is unbearably slow when its storage location is set to the SD card. 5-10 second ago break almost whenever I go to a different track, during which the app will seem to freeze, there is no information on the course of the reading of the title, etc. Scroll to playlists often also freezes with all Flickr showing photos as "title unknown - unknown artist - unknown ', until it loads everything about 10 seconds later. I also get regular as messages "Track have available ', 'Go online to open the menu' or 'Storage not found', which all disappear after a few seconds, and once again, things are working. Two of these applications, camera and Spotify, work very well again as soon as I have them switch back to internal storage. They both work very well using the old SD card.

The phone has become generally very slow, in some cases, it takes almost half a minute even unlock. He has also strongly affected battery life. A full charge is now usually empty inserted about 3 to 5 times faster without the SD card, probably because all the SD reading and writing takes a lot longer than expected.

A cue point is a write speed supported about 12 MB/s for the card, which is still in the specification of a class 10 card. But I don't think that the sustained speed is the problem, it seems to be random file access. For example, one of the things I tried to take is clearing cache in Spotify, which reached about 10 GB in 3 000 files. Because the cache clearing in settings app seemed to freeze, I went to remove the folder in the file order. There, he showed that the removal of every single file took about 2-3 seconds until he would remove the following. If deleting hidden Facebook took more than 3 hours and nearly emptied a full battery charge. If I format the SD card, it seems fast for about half a day to a day, up to what the life of performance and battery life down again.

At this point I don't know what the problem is. I have a few possible theories:

    • The SD that I may be defective, and could it works again if I just replaced?
    • Is the difference between Ultra/Extreme the problem? They both have the same speed, but extreme class are advertised as more quickly and about two times more expensive. My other Sandisk card, which was the extreme, worked fine, but I don't know if it's because of this. File access time is not advertised as a distinctive feature.
    • Is the shift from 32 GB to 64 GB (and thus SDHC to SDXC) question? That is, the Z5C there the speed problems with SDXC cards, and should I just replace the map with an equivalent model of 32 GB?
    • Should I go with a card from a different manufacturer? Is it not possible that that solved the problem?

I was hoping that maybe someone here has an idea about their own experiences with SD cards, used in phones lines Z5, may have had the same problem at one point and present pointers on what is the possible cause.

    Thank you!

    Daniel

Apparently, my card was not defective, but the Ultra line of SanDisk SD cards are simly not suitable for smartphones. I contacted customer support of SanDisk, and this was their response (translated by me, because the Exchange was in German):

  • Problem of card ExpressCard El Capitan

    Hi guys,.

I hope you can help me with the questions of the ExpressCard I feel.

If I insert an SD card, no matter if I use another one, the system doesn't recognize the card at all. Not appearing is not in either disk utility. The strange thing is though it al works fine after the reboot. But it doesn't work only temporarily, if I wait a little longer before inserting the SD card once again, nothing happens.

My thought is to some interference from the pilot by the engine of El Capitan. But I'll leave to you guys. What I've done so far went on the manufacturer's Web site to search for an update. But there is no. Downloaded the current version and reinstalled. I reset my controller of LANDAU and SMC. But the problem is still there, which is quiet boring.

    Installation program:

    OS X El Capitan 10.11.5

  • Are SDXC / Exfat to the format compatible with iOS9 SD cards?

I bought a 128 GB exfat format SDXC card to join via the Lexar Mobile Manager to the ports of lightning from my iPad 9.7 Pro and my iPhone 6s, two feat. iOS9. But the iPad or the iPhone to recognize the SDXC card.

Is exFat not yet compatible with iOS9 or what else could be the problem?

Has nothing to do with iOS itself.  You must ask Lexar Media formats and their application with their device supports file formats.  Everything that the application and its associated device bed or written on the iOS device is up to the application to convert to or from the HFSX file format native iOS.

According to the specification of Toshiba page that I could find on the internet, the micro-SD card slot allows you to store and share your photos, videos and large multimedia files, using SD cards up to 32 GB
Therefore, the question could be linked to the size of 64 GB SD micro card it s not supported

  • stuck in the slot sdxc card

I've never used the front sdxc slot. I put what I think it's SD card from my friend in there. He did not appear on my mac. I tried to get him out. It seems stuck. I'm afraid to pull too hard, but I gave it a good tug. I'd like to help! Thank you.

    I've did some more research, and it seems that the map is not, in fact, an SD card. It's this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O= & sku = 917691 & gclid = CNGH05yN7MsC FY9ffgodmscEPQ & is = REG & ap = y & m = Y & c3api = 1876 92051677562 %2 C & Q = %2C & a = detail

    Is this a problem? Yikes!

I tried a lot of smaler maps. They are ok.

  • Extreme SDHC or SDXC card work in Portege R600

The R600 does support the sandisk 'extreme 30 MB' card or SDXC card?

I ask because they seem to be the only ones with a capacity of 64 GB. I need the maximum possible additional capacity

    Hello

AFAIK the SD SD card reader supports card up to 2 GB, SDHC up to 16 GB and mini SD (with adapter) up to 2GB.

I didn t find all the details on the use of larger SDHC cards and I think you will have to test it yourself. But in my opinion, there could be a problem with these cards!

The Acer S7-392 record indicate only "SD", but not whether the SDHC or SDXC card types can be read. A quick search of the web shows several contradictory web pages! Some say: 'Yes,' some say 'no '.

  • Sport clip and 200 GB SDXC

I have a rather massive music collection, and I don't use the built-in folder feature.

I like SanDisk players because they are of good quality and reasonable price, but I'm tired of the evolution of the 32 GB SDHC cards, whenever I want to listen to a different song.

Cards SDXC high capacity work with the Sport Clip, if formatted with the FAT32 file system? I did some reading on this, and as far as I know, the only thing that could prevent that this work is this class 10 memory cards apparently will not work with SanDisk players, although I've personally never had a problem with them.

And if the same as SDHC, SDXC, just formatted differently... so it should work just fine, right?

I guess that what I ask, then, is if there is a limit of fimware that would keep the navigation system folder to use such a large map, assuming that it was formatted in FAT32.

And is there a reason why a Class 10 card wouldn't work, as I read on other places OTI, or is it just bull? Because one of my 32 GB SDHC is a class 10, and I've never had problems with it.

I know that's not SDXC * officially * supported, but what I'm asking, is, it will still work if used informally?

I know how frustrating not definitive information. a manufacturer can be, and so I hunted around and found a joint map of 64 GB adapters (music files, photos, software, video) that I had around a tablet.  I put it in my Sport, and he played music without any problem files, immediately.  I don't remember the card format, but I guess that the fact that she played, that it is FAT32.

Although there were only a handful of music files on the card, I take this as personal proof that the Sport probably play very well with a card adapters.  I guess that the only question would be, for what the size limitation, if necessary.  (Sorry, I don't have a card 64 GB, 128 GB or 200 GB filled to the max of music files right now to verify this.)  My hunch is, from what I've read others say based on my experiences earlier, that the Sport will manage different adapters cards.

I hope that gives you a level of comfort.

I always recommend getting a Clip + or Clip Zip and loading with Rockbox.    Also, I recommend always buy a card that may be returned (or otherwise used), if necessary.  I read, every now-and-again, some are random map is simply is not compatible with a video player, for some reason any.
