We are relatively new for ESX. We have a Nextra XIV subsystem connected to an ESX3.0 system thanks to an HBA adapter, which works fine, until we have done the following:

-Mapped a volume to the ESX using a utility XIV.

-Using a Virtual Center client, selected the ESX Storage/Configuration/system adapters / & lt; vmbha.x.x & gt; / Rescan. The volume appeared with success.

-Selected a virtual machine under ESX system and added a hard drive by using Edit Settings/Add/Hard Disk/Raw Device Mappings

-Choose the Windows operating system in the virtual machine and made a new analysis under disk management

So far so good. Everything seemed fine. Then we did the following:

-Non mapped the volume using the XIV and remapped another volume with a different capacity at the same location.

-Reread the ESX using VC system.

-Looking at the managed object provides information about the ESX, it seems that ESX recognizes the change in the capacity of the volume, but not the name. The name remained the name of the previous volume.

-Then, we restarted the ESX, to see if that could clear up.

-L'ESX is rebooted, but the virtual machine would not come up--gave an error "file not found". We noticed 2 thugs 0-ability of the virtual disks in the list of the VM in VC, so we removed the.

-Virtual machine now come with success.

Any clues why the ESX did not see the new volume name, and what we can do to remedy this scenario?

Okay, I don't know this system, but using a 3rd third party tool (even if it's your SAN vendor) is not a good idea to make underlying changes to the file system. This step is probably where the trouble started. Why not map to its original location?

Hi, I have a laptop with windows 7 installed and I have a problem with my volume control.

My volume control acts as if someone or something has been pressed. For example I click on the icon to open the volume control and it shows that the volume is down. When I click and try to drag the control to the top, it will go up but immediately down as if someone he had the opposite effect. I tried to fix this on my computer nothing works. I tried to see if it has changed when I plugged my headphones but I always had the same problem. Open the volume mixer or enter the system of sounds does nothing either. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem before? I have never seen anything like this myself.

Hi, I keep getting the message "there is a problem connecting to the server"192.168.0.19"etc. This happened after I moved. New ISP, new router. I have an Airport Express and a NAS connected to it. I then decided to try the generic audio driver for Windows. The same problem. The only way I can run 10 win on this PC is to completely disable the audio adapter. Then, everything works fine (except for the audio of course). Has anyone go through this? Is there a solution before buying a sound card for a 6 year old PC?

We have about 20 or more, A8 and A9 Tecra notebooks and each has shown signs of the same problem again. If rebotting and netwrok cable is attached, so they will not start. Remove the cable and it is a normal startup.
The A8 has a motherboard replacement (problem existed before the replacement) and is still there now after the replacement. The MB is replaced mainly because the sound card was dead. All machines are running XP Pro OS. The A9 is a novelty. Would be - this driver issue or - this one of my favorite - an update from MS that has caused problems.
