  • Satellite C660 - no access Internet - yellow exclamation point appears

    Hello

I have a toshiba Satellite c660 and there serious internet problems.
When I turn it on, it says that I don't have access to the internet but when I try to use it, a yellow exclamation point will appear then down down on the wifi icon.

If I click on the internet icon and it says im connected to the internet, but I have no internet access.
I'm really confused as to what to do. Internet days might work for a while and then all of a sudden the exclamation point appears there and I can't get working again.

If anyone has any ideas on what is wrong or how to fix Tournay would be GREAT. as for now I can't use the internet wireless on my laptop.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I think there could be a problem with your WLan router.
I recommend to reset the router and try again

If this is not enough, clear all settings of encryption like encryption, password encryption, mac address filtering, etc. and try to connect again to open WLan.
But this just for testing purposes

If the connection would be functions, you must configure the router once more.

  • Network of the island so no internet access remove a yellow exclamation point in the network icon in the taskbar.

Hi, I have 10 windows 7 Enterprise workstations connected to a Windows 2008 domain and there is no internet connectivity (this is normal) but each workstation network icon displays an exclamation point yellow because she had not any internet connection. Isn't there anyway other than hide the icon which I don't want to get the yellow exclamation point to appear.

    Thanks Simon.

I finally found the answer. If you are running Windows server 2008 R2 edition, then you can find this policy in the strategy of Group Editor and it will be effective for your Windows 7 machines. If this is not the case, as I am on Windows server 2008 standard and then, is not an option within the Server Group Policy Editor must therefore be as a change in local policy on the workstations.

It is found on the local computer by running gpedit.msc and looking: -.

    Local computer policy,

    Administrative templates,

    Network,

    Network connections,

Does not display the network icon "local access only".

    Select this option enabled.

Closing of session and immediately and this will make the yellow exclamation point icon disapear.

  • In devices and printers, I have an icon for a laptop with a yellow exclamation point. I have a desktop computer and remove this icon of the laptop.

A laptop once was connected to my desktop via USB cable PC; It belonged to me.  The owner wants to access its database of the company, but in vain.

Now, in devices and printers, I have a laptop icon that is not one of my devices, but the Device Manager lists in "Other devices" with a (USB) universal serial bus controller, which is also included in the icon of the computer laptop properties under the material.  The yellow exclamation point is for troubleshooting.  The problem is: I do not own a laptop device.

I want to remove the icon of the laptop and its inscriptions, including the (USB) universal serial bus controller.  Both are marked by a yellow exclamation point, but, of course, they do not work because they do not exist.  But this icon of the laptop has name my PC on it.

My desktop PC should not be listed in devices and printers, does it?

WIFI does not work - in Device Manager the conroller of network (under 'other devices') has an excalamation mark on it - the problem is not installed driver.

I know that this phone has WLAN (a, d, g and draft n), and it has a switch for him - what is on and lights up.

At the moment I am connected to the router broadband - not much use as my PC is at the front desk even - I need a wireless connectivity!

My CD drive on my Dell 2400 appears disabled (on Admin Managemnt yellow exclamation point) as this is my plugin dvd recordr/cd player recorder. How can I fix? Thank you

Locate your CD drive integrated in the device list manager.

Do a right click on it, it should appear a window with "Disable"... 'Enable '.

    Click Activate.

It is a possibility, the other is...

The fact that you are also using EXTERNAL units could be the 'reason' why one integrated disabled to start with.

The USB in the BIOS setting must be wrong... to do this.

In addition, the "HALT ON...» ' Command, in the BIOS, will not. (It is possible that the "Halt" command is... ON "ALL ERRORS").

    Assign to this... "WITHOUT ERRORS".

This should cure the problem of USB connection (for external use) disable your "built-in" CD player

Whenever the yellow icon pops up that I have troubleshoot and it indicates the default gateway was unavailable and that fixed it, then I have internet again for about 2-5 minutes and it does the same thing. Ive never had this problem on my cpu and the network has not been changed or anything, so I don't know what that the * could cause this. I literally wiped everything on my cpu and then do a system image to restore too. Ive been messing around with the registry, deletion of things here and there missions that I read, but only thing that happens is losing internet alltogether and must restore from system image. I'm really running out of ideas. Help, please. I have an adapter netgear wn311b wireless pci-express with the latest drivers.

set of antenna for optimal orientation.

Check if your computer is authorized by your wireless router.

  • Minor problem with the New Installation of Windows 7 on my Inspiron E1705/9400 - two entries for "Base system device" under "Other devices" with yellow exclamation point

    Hello

First of all, let me tell you about my system.   It is of a laptop Inspiron E1705/9400 with the Core 2 Duo T7400 processor clocked at 2.16 GHZ.   It has 2 GB of RAM and a hard drive on the Hitachi Travelstar nine 500 GB (7200 RPM).   It also has the GeForce Go 7900 GS video card.    Previously, it had Windows XP Professional (32 bit) and worked well.   But, I have three computers in my home and Home Office and would they work better together on my wired home network, so I'm upgrading all three to Windows 7.   My two desktops (a Dimension XPS 420 and the other Dimension XPS 430) seem like they will be no problem to upgrade to Windows 7.   But, this laptop was not on the list of Dell Windows 7 compatibility.   However, the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor that I have downloaded and run seemed to say that it was OK to do a clean install of Windows 7 32-bit and he had only a few minor issues, where it says search the drivers updated from the manufacturer.   Initially, the laptop came with a 100 GB hard drive.   For my use, which becomes very small, so I decided to get the exact same 7200 RPM drive 500 GB size.   This will allow me to do a clean install of the 32 bit Windows 7 OS on the new hard drive and not have to wipe the old disk to do so.   I can just keep the old HD and paste it back whenever I need to get something out of it.

So, here's my minor problem.   After the transfer of some elements off the coast of the old hard drive, I installed the new 500 GB drive and installed a cleaning of the 32-bit version of Windows 7.    I'm happy to announce that I have not had virtually no problems with installation and everything seems to work fine.   He seems a little more zippy than before and I have not met so far that doesn't seem to work.   I went through most of features and almost everything is superb.   But there is a minor problem, showing in Device Manager.   At least, I think it's a minor problem, but maybe someone can give me feedback to know if she is or not.

In the Device Manager list, there is a category called "other devices" now and the icon shows a little white circle with an exclamation mark.    When you expand this category, you see two identical entries that say "Base system device" and the icon has a yellow circle with an exclamation mark inside.     I know from experience that it is not a good thing to see items in the device manager that have a yellow circle with an exclamation point.   I clicked on both of them and neither one really tells you what the device is, or who did what is site you would go to a driver.    On the general tab, it has the following information:

    -Device type Other devices

    Reference of the manufacturer- Unknown

                         Location     -         Bus PCI 3, device 1, function 3

Under device status, it says the following:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There is no driver selected for the item or a set of device information

To find a driver for this device, click Update driver.

Each of the entries seem to be almost the same thing... but not exactly.   The other has the location

list PCI Bus 3, device 1, function 2... instead of function 1.   This seems to be the only difference.

I tried the button to update the driver, but that doesn't seem to work.   No matter if you say it looks like your

computer or to look for a new driver from the internet, it does not find anything.     As I said at the beginning,

the system seems to work very well... but, given that I don't know what this device is or does, I might be missing something.

He drives me crazy just have these yellow circles with exclamation point hanging out in my device manager.

I could really use some help here.    Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Bryan Ray (Richmond, WILL)

BTW, I just downloaded and installed the driver pack from this ftp location and it worked, even for Windows 8.1 - 64 bit.

    Thanks Steve!

  • Network connection problem: «identify...» No Internet access.

I have problems to connect to internet on my desktop Gateway FX6831.  It worked fine one day, but I turned on my PC, the other for that icon connection read continuous «ID...» No Internet access. «When you view the network information window, the intermediary between the PC and the internet just reads «Identify...» "and shows an X between it and the icon 'Internet '.  It's hard, connected to a router that is connected to the modem.  My phone and laptop PC connect perfectly to the internet through the same router and the modem.  My PC has an Intel 82578DC Gigabit network adapter.

Some of the fixes I've tried without success:

-Download (via my laptop) and install the latest drivers from the gateway network adapter

    -Solve the problem via Windows

    -Reset my modem (several times)

-Hard wiring the PC directly to the modem

-Reset my IP address via the command ipconfig at the command prompt

I'm sure I tried other things too, but I can't think of them right now.  Help, please!

I had the same problem and it was my pc down for 3 days and the fix was simple. I think a virus/bad windows update has caused, but not sure. All you have to do is run a system restore to a date of probably about a week before it happened. Mine took place on 18/12/11 and I ran an update 16/12/11 is not working so I chose a previous restore point that was 10/12/11 and it fixed my problem "identify no access to the network. It is very important for situations like this to have System Restore enabled, so I'll give you a link to how to do if your cannot restore to a previous point it being disabled.

    in windows 7, select:
    start or windows logo
right click on computer and select Properties, low tab
upper left corner select "system protection".
then select Configure (it must be on the system protection tab if it isn't already)
and check the restore settings and previous versions of files, and then press on apply.

    hope this helps guys
