Problem starting Windows 2008 R2

I've restored a backup BackupExec (State of data and system) to a server running Windows 2008 R2 to new hardware. New material contains PERC H710P RAID controller and Windows installation media does not contain a driver for it. So my freshly installed with driver PERC system clears my restore of the System State and the system refuses to boot.

I was not able to find a way to inject PERC drivers in the Windows 2008 R2 (which is the same as that of Windows 7-64) boot environment. I tried to build a Windows ISO updated the with drivers PERC, hoping his recovery option would be smart enough to add the new driver to boot environment. Not only it doesn't seem to be able to change the boot sequence, there is no still load the PERC driver and I've always had to be loaded from a flash drive.

Anyone have any ideas on how to add the driver support when starting a system that is already installed?

Thank you

HammerCR

This problem has been resolved yesterday. Here is an overview of the steps:

  1. Download the latest driver off site support.dell.com and extract the files on a USB key.
  2. Insert the USB key into the server.
  3. Start on the support of the Windows operating system and use "Shift + F10" to launch a command line window.
    1. It might be a good idea to use two windows to start diskpart in to get the Volume letters
    2. Diskpart.exe and then run 'list volume' to view the volumes
  4. Run the following command:
    DISM / image: C: \ / Add-Driver /driver:D:\percsas3.inf
Note: C:\ is assumed to be the Windows system drive Partition D:\ is the USB.
  5. Once the driver has been loaded, leave the Windows installation program and restart the system. The system can boot into recovery utility, but choose to boot in Windows 2008 R2. System will reboot and you will be presented with a login screen.

I hope this will be useful to someone.

    -Safe Mode

    -Safe Mode with networking

    -Safe mode with command prompt

-Last good Configuration known (your most recent settings that worked)

    -Start Windows normally

but none of these work no matter what safe mode goes down a long list of names of sys files that occupy the entire screen and restart again and again and more I like to let restart it self over and over again for I don't know one hundred times as broly power screen it has a clock at the bottom of what makes automatically go after 30 seconds and the bios don't recount not and problems heres a picture of what he seems especially that this picture has been croped, so you can't see the timer or something other than the upper left sorry that's all what I could find.

And here's what the list was before it restarts out of safe mode, I don't know if it's the same exact files but to my eyes, this is what it looks like.

Oh and one thing the hard disk appears in secondary undre the CMOS and BIOS.

  • Problems starting Windows Update now

    Hello

I run windows vista 64 bit and have a motherboard ASUS striker ultimate with an ATI Radeon 4850 (also ASUS) and a processor intel 2.4 ghz quad core Q6600. Yesterday, I downloaded the optional updates and recommended to my system, at the end of that my system went to restart that failed. I turned off my computer and the screen of the BIOS came to my motherboard. Then I have zero by default, the system and start the computer to the top. My wireless adapter no longer worked and diganose function and repair said he had driver problems. I did a system restore but Hat did not set my start-up problems. I fixed the wireless card drivers, but I still have problems starting. My Hibernate function no longer works, IE will be partially closed but will not again. Also the start of works that after I go into the bios post screen and restore the default values. Does anyone have advice? IM at a loss

    Hi Vanishty2004,

Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of Windows Vista.

Do you remember the optional update that was installed on the machine?

You may need to uninstall the update has been installed on the computer.

It seems that the windows update caused the BIOS of the computer to be updated, which should also address the issue of the hibernation.

Contact your computer manufacturer for an updated BIOS.

    WARNING:

Incorrect version of BIOS update may cause the computer to be unusable. Contact the manufacturer of the computer system administrator for updating the BIOS.

Hope the information will help. Please post back and we do know.

  • I have problem starting (windows 7) without black screen

I installed windows 7 on my laptop (which supports windows 7), 2 years ago. 1 year, I installed a game on that laptop, my laptop was ok. A few months ago, I opened my computer and this happened to me: (check the picture in the link. All my shortcuts in my home page are white, sometimes they still do not appear, the windows key is white, I can't open, install any programs, unless I run it in safe mode, or make the system restore). I start in safe mode, I deleted the game and my laptop had no problems starting. I opened my computer 3 days ago, he had the same problem again and this time, my shortcuts are not yet available in my home page. If I do the system restore, it will be ok, but when I disable it, it will happen the same problem. I tried startup repair, but it cannot detect all problems.

I had 2, the two 90 GB HDD, 1 is empty, the other is half empty (45 GB), my RAM is 4 GB, it uses only 3 GB, recently spent 2 to 4 GB RAM.
Is there a way get fix this, without a format?
    http://ImageShack.us/photo/my-images/16/90522409.PNG/

I did not install Kaspersky Anti-virus. TDDSKiller is just a small Kaspersky utility designed to search for infections of rootkit that is the worst piece of infection right now. Your computer might be infected with one.

(In addition, repeat steps 2) and 3).
If they don't work, then perform a new installation of your windows.
    Good luck!

  • Problems starting Windows XP. I get "the following file is missing or damaged. \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM"message.

Original title: start windows xp questions

Windows xp. When I try to start the system I get the message "the following file is missing or damaged. \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM... I have an xp disk and code but not sure if it is the origanal. When I start the computer, it does not start the windows xp disc.

If you get the message hal.dll missing, your system is still booting from the hard drive and do not boot from the XP Recovery Console CD (I hope that you have created).

There is no hal.dll on the CD you made if all goes well.

You must enter the BIOS of your system and make the first boot from the CD to your Pcakard device Bell looks like it firstly, instead to focus first on the HARD drive (make the drive the second choice for now).

Searching the Internet, I found a message that says to enter the Packard Bell BIOS you must do this:

Users of Packard Bell, you can access the BIOS set up by pressing the keys F1, F2 or del

I don't have a PB, so I can't say for sure if that works, or what to do after that - you will need to look around the BIOS for things like the boot order boot priority, etc. and make the CD drive the first choice, second choice HARD drive, save the settings, then you can boot from the CD I hope that you have made using these instructions.

Generally when the system detects a CD is inserted, it will sell you a message like this:

Press any key to boot from CD...

Then all the button and follow the rest of the instructions...

  • Problem starting Windows Vista Edition Home Premium

Windows Vista Home Premium OS would start when I turn on the computer. I have to cut the power and then turn on to restart the system. My computer is a HP Pavilion dv2500 laptop purchased in mid-2008. I use the system repair, System Restore, etc, but I still have the same start-up problems. Can help me to offer a solution for this problem.

You can easily check if it is a hard drive problem.  To test your hard drive, check the manufacturer and then get the diagnostic utility of: http://www.techsupportforum.com/hardware-support/hard-drive-support/302602-hard-drive-diagnostic-utilities.html.  If she failed the test, replace it.  If she passes the test, then it's probably nothing wrong with it.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can also test it with chkdsk:

Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run.  It will scan and attempt to resolve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a potential cause.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't know how to test wireless card, except by the permutation try it with a known good to see if the problem is resolved, and if the problem moves.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite L450D - 13G - problem starting Windows 8 to 8.1

    Model: Satellite L450D - 13G

I just ugraded to 8.1 Windows of Windows 8 and now at the start of desktop support and refreshing continues, so I can't do anything.

As far as I can see, is that the file system keeps from (explorer.exe).

Someone at - he experienced this? Any help would be much appreciated as I can see no way that to restore it to Windows 7 with my Toshiba recovery disc.

Fortunately someone Toshiba reads these forums and has an answer.

    Hello

First you need to know that win 8.1 on this Satellite L450D series isn't officially supported, and that means this laptop of the manufacturer does not guarantee that these BONES would work properly.

However, I put t see serious reasons why 8.1 Win should not work properly.
In my opinion, something was wrong during the upgrade. To resolve this issue, you must repair the system.

Press the power button on the point 8.1 of Windows (via charms bar) and hold down the SHIFT key when you click on the button to restart. Then the next screen should appear and you may choose to solve the problems.
In advanced options, you can try some options such as auto repair, System Restore, and others

  • problem starting Windows XP. Reinstall I tried - certificate key is "invalid".

I bought an ACER desktop computer provided with Windows XP; It also came with a "Shrink Wrap" CD of Windows xp, if the certificate of authenticity was already glued to the computer. This weekend I had trouble starting the computer and a technician said the problem was with Windows XP, so I tried to reinstall the software and opened the shrink wrap and started installing. When I entered my license key from the certificate of Authenticity on my computer, I got the message that the key is not valid. Now, how can I get my computer to work? I'm stuck. Can Microsoft tell me what the key is for the shrink wrapped product supplied with my Acer? Why is my license key of my sticker on my computer not considered valid? THnaks. MAE

Do you have the correct sequence of letters and numbers. It is common to confuse the number 0 for the letter O, number 8 for the letter B, letter Q may resemble an O.

  • Problem starting Windows XP (x 64)

    Hi all,

I have a problem with my Windows XP (x 64). The thing is that it doesn't start with any user at all. I turn on the computer and wait for user selection list to appear, and then I chose a user (normal user or admin, it doesn't matter), put the password and press ENTER. Then the system seems to start up of dor on a pair of seconds but immediately displays the message "closure of the session...". "and dates back to the list of users. This happens with all users (admin or not) and in all modes (secured or not)

No one knows what it is and how to solve?

Thank you very much in advance,

    Charles

    Hello

Remove all external devices and then try to start and check what is happening.

Also lets check if the start last known good Configuration (LKGC). To begin LKGC, follow the link.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315222

If this does not help, you can try to boot into safe mode with command prompt and verify if you are able to do. Use the same link.

If you are able to boot into safe mode with network let us know so that we can help.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Problems starting Windows Firewall in Vista 64-bit

I have a laptop HP with Windows Vista 64-bit installed. A few weeks ago, I started getting a message that the Windows Firewall did not work. I tried to restart it via the Control Panel, but it won't allow me. I tried to run tools of analysis for possible corrupt files, disabled through the System Configuration utility in the control panel services and rebooted, etc.. When the system boots, the message "problem reports and solutions has stopped working" is displayed, followed by other messages and ends with a message that the firewall does not work. I think that all messages are attached together as a resuly of the firewall issue.

In addition, I installed Microsoft Security Essentials, which need to make updates. Whenever he tries to do, it cannot and still once, probably because the firewall does not work. He continues to make an attempt to update and will not stop doing so, even after clicking on "Cancel Update" when its window is opened.

I brought no changes to software that would have caused the firewall to stop working and can only assume that the question was created by one or more software updates automatic in the past two weeks, either from Microsoft or from HP.

All attempts to resolve the issue have failed, and I hope someone can help me without providing links to register software or driver that force me to buy them or not and can never help to solve the problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated: it has become quite frustrating.

    Hello

Disabling Services is not a good idea.

First, analyze your computer of viruses and malware.

If it's clean, or you found a few "junk" and it does not work after cleaning...

Open a command prompt, type sfc/scannow and press ENTER.

It must analyse the system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

This document contains more information on SFC scan: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

If this process cannot run or get caught in the middle or also shows a lot of errors and cannot fix. I'm afraid you're better to make the backup of your data and reinstall the operating system.

  • XPS15 problem starting Windows 8 L521x

Hi Phillip I want to thank you for the info you have posted here.

I have a L521x XPS15 that comes with a 750 GB HARD drive + an SSD of 32 GB for implementing caching. I upgraded to w8 via the simple up grader downloaded from the Microsoft Web site. The laptop starts the way it came: with the BIOS. As I don't have a clean install, never changed to start using the UEFI.

Now my problem is that w8 after 2 weeks has simply abandoned and does not start. Only, it loads a blue screen named "recovery" showing the error 0 x 0000001. He suggested to do a restore by using the DVD, but here is when my knowledge is not enough to do the recovery.

I managed to make the DVD to boot but the recovery program cannot find the operating system or the HARD drive to start the recovery. I guess that's maybe because the Intel SRT and arrangement double disc.

You say you a way to make the program of recovery to work please?

I'm not very happy with the w8 and I just want to put w7 return (I have the original DVD to dell and my backup DVD 4)

If it is not possible to recover the w8, how I will use my drive of w7 to install it (to then restore the image discs I made before installing the w8). Should I change the machine to AHCI for it?

I posted this issue in several forums and unfortunately no one could help you (same chat with dell has benn a pain as they replay like they were robots). Any help will be appreciated.

I moved this to its own thread. I asked the other Rockstars if they have other ideas. RoHe suggested to disable Secure Boot of Windows 8, if you have enabled.
