Hi Cathy,.

Receipt of an error 0 x 80070103 means that Windows Update tries to install a driver is already installed on your system or Windows Update tries to install/update a driver to an unsuitable version of this driver.

To hide the update, follow the steps below:

  1. Click Start, click all programs, and then click Windows Update.

  3. After that updates analysis is complete, click optional updates are available .
  4. In the Select the updates you want to install section, right click for the update you want to hide, and then click hide update.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click install updates to install the additional updates that are selected. If no other updates is selected, close Windows Update.

  • Windows Vista freezing, problems starting mode safe mode, Windows Update does not work, etc.

Hi all. I am operating Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1, 32-bit on an HP Pavilion dv6000.

My problems started about two months ago, when I installed several updates through Windows Update. I started having problems with my USB ports (even if these pilots were not being updated) and the computer was never able to close successfully. I tried to uninstall these updates, but that did not fix the questions I had. I have also installed software (AutoCAD 2007) at the same time and uninstalled, nothing helps.

Then my computer started to freeze after running for a few minutes. Time seems to vary from 5 minutes of good use for 1 hour, but I found that it works only because this so long, I only open a program or file and use it all the time (for example, reading a book in Adobe Acrobat format). If I try to open the program or additional files, go to control panel, etc. (read: if I do everything related to Windows Explorer) the computer crashes. I can still move my cursor but none of the windows meet, and I can't ctrl + alt + delete to enter the Task Manager (I get a black screen).

I was manually shut down my computer every time that happens and boot in SafeMode several times. Sometimes when I try to start safe mode it is hampering the crcdisk file and turns off. It happens not every time, however. Sometimes, when it starts it running the disk check, and there has been some index files that it has been deleted and orphaned files that it has been moved.

I tried to do a system restore to a point before the updates I've installed in October, but my computer has no points system, restore even if he says it was their creation before you install these updates.

The last problem is that when I go to Windows Update, it says that I have never checked for or downloaded the updates in the 15 months that I've had the computer - is not true, I, he lost at the time of all the record of it. So although I would like to provide you with wonderful with a record of what I've updated and people uninstalled, I can't because all this information is gone. In addition, I can't connect to the internet to try to check the news updates, because our internet service runs a USB modem, which is not communicating properly with my computer.

I hope someone has an idea of what's going on. I just can't understand the common point that all these questions arise, my technology skills are somewhat limited, so I hope for a relatively easy solution.

    Sarah

BTW, all my files were backed up on external drives.

I don't know Jack about computers, but I don't know that I went through almost exactly the same thing.  My pc was ok, then in a month or two, it took a nose dive.  something I did was too that much could not think of everything.  A friend told me to reset my bios to default settings and see what happens.  After having spent only 7 hours trying to teach myself on bios, I got stabbed in this area and it worked.  Everything is great runnng.  Now I can even right click on icons without crashing.

  • Problems trying to upgarde to Windows 10

    Original title: Please, help me

    Dear Sirs,

Thank you for reading my email.

I tried to upgrade my OS (Win 7 family basic to win 10) window.

I had a problem. my PC cannot be used. I turn on my PC and it seems that the CPU is always running and never stop.

on the screen: out of reach and no cable connected.

the monitor will look similar to freshen up and never stop.

I can't go to the control panel. Unfortunately, I decided to fix from my original Win 7 CD.

and now I can use my PC with Win 7, but I lost my programs (Microsoft Office: Word, XL, Power Point and many others).

Unfortunately, I lost my original CD of Microsoft Office.
Please, give me a direction. I had success with my laptop with Win 8 to 10 to win.

but, what is the problem with my PC and lost programs?

I'm looking forward to your good news.thank so.
    Best regards

    suwanto control

Sometimes, you need to make some preparations before the upgrade.

You can download a backup copy of your Microsoft Office from the following link:

    Download Office

    https://products.Office.com/en/download-back-up-restore-Microsoft-Office-products

    Task of pre-required

When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1

    then

    then

    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Reboot several times, and then try again.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
    • If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
    • Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
    • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
    • If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
    • If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
    • If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
    • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).
  • Problems of deployment OR after Windows Update

After completing an update of Windows, all my installers of studio project of measurement (using the configuration and deployment of VS 2010 project) stopped including the VC merge modules ++.

Long story short, the update improved my Microsoft_VC100_CRT_x86.msm and Microsoft_VC100_ATL_x86.msm files, and new files have different version numbers the installer could not find the merge modules dependencies OR.

I fixed this problem by crushing the new MSM with old files.

My question is this: How can I prevent this from happening in the future? Disable Windows Update is not an option for me.

It seems to me that the libraries NOR should not care about the specific version of the MSM VC100. If VC100 is up-to-date, the improved version should be included as a dependency of the libraries OR. Is there a way to get there?

    -Steven

    Hi Shansen,

Thanks for the compliment. We try very fort make the best product possible.

Unfortunately, there is little we can do in this case. As Measurement Studio is running in the Visual Studio development environment, the application distributions are all managed by Visual Studio. I suggest you contact Microsoft technical support about this issue.

  • Problems with the installation of windows updates and reboot the computer

When you try to restart the computer it freezes on "installation updates.do not turn off computer.". Currently have 20 updates which will not be installed. computer says CCC.exe prevents the computer from restarting and getting error code 80240016 when you try to install the updates

    Restore point:

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
