    The evening

The icons on my desktop constantly changing arrangement. This seems to be a flaw in Windows 7 I saw several other posts on various forums all relate to the same question...

My first thought was to contact MS and ask about this, but this idea was quickly put end when I discovered that they would charge me for this match (Yes, even it was involving an operating system 'fault' instead of asking me generic technical support!)

Any ideas on a fix people? This bug is extremely irritating (for not to mention affecting a great many users!)

  • Problem with icon of the taskbar with Google Chrome 32

    Hello world

I have a problem when I try to Google Chrome 32 thinapp. I did the capture with WinXP using Thinapp 5.0. The application works very well, but I only have one problem. The icon of the Chrome in Windows 7 taskbar does not work. Instead, I see the icon included in the screenshot. If Chrome is installed locally on the computer, it works. I tried to capture on a Win7 32 and 64 bit and it gives the same problem. Has anyone had the same problem and found a solution?

    Thank you

    Screenshot.jpg

Google Chrome 34 and 35 are still showing the same behavior...

    Do this test:

    -Launch Chrome packed

-Right click on the icon 'Virgin '.

-Right click on "Google Chrome" and select "Properties".

-Click on "Change icon" and note the error message: Windows cannot find the file %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Google Profile.ico

This file exists in the package, and if you copy the 'Google' Profile.ico in the capture folder in this location in the native environment, it works!

As you probably notice, I did it "BOLD" the word "Windows". If you use ProcMon to troubleshoot the behavior and search for "Google Profile.ico", you will see that the process "Explorer.exe" returns "PATH_NOT_FOUND". It is normal, because "Explorer.exe" does not and cannot run in the virtual environment.

Another solution to the file manually on the background, would be to rename the '% Local Appdata%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default' '% Local Appdata%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default.old '.

Then create a new folder "Default", with a MERGED insulation.

Once the package is rebuilt, it should work fine. Google Chrome checks if that file exists for this user and if not, recreate. With isolation being MERGED, it creates in the user profile.

  • Problem with icons of the LV2012 library (.lvlib)

    Hello

Using LabVIEW 2012 Full version (32-bit) on Windows 7 (64-bit).

I create a project library (.lvlib) and add a bunch of screws.
I create a banner library icon and apply icon library of all the screws in the library.
I then change the icons of all the screws in the library, add additional layers, so that each VI icon has a layer called "NI_Library" (the banner library icon) and a bunch of other layers.
    So far so good.

I have then change the library icon and apply the change to all the icons in the library.
I open to the top of the screw in the library and find that all the extra layers that I added to each icon previously were wiped out. All my cancelled work.
Now each VI has 3 layers: NI_Library, NI_IconNumber and VI icon and none of my other layers.

I am sure that this has not happened in LabVIEW 2011. IN LabVIEW 2011, if I changed the icon libray and apply the change to all the screws in the library, only the layer of "NI_Library" has changed, all other layers remained intact.

Is this a known issue? Surely this can't be the way it is supposed to work? Or I'm things misunderstanding?

It's a bug that has been fixed in 2012SP1.  My apologies for the great inconvenience.

  • Have recently noticed icons on the desktop "oscillate" or shake a moment; What is going on? Is this a problem?

I recently noticed some icons on the desktop, shaking for a moment from time to time, which does not seem to be connected to everything I do. I noticed mostly with the icons for a few programs I downloaded recently (Switch Sound File Converter, WavePad Sound Editor and RecordPad sound recorder), even if I used these programs in the past without problem and did not notice anything unusual to suggest a virus. Does anyone know what this means? Thank you!

    Hello

    Step 1:

You can try to start in safe mode and check if the problem persists. Only basic files and drivers needed to run Windows are started. If a problem doesn't reappear when you start in safe mode, you can eliminate the default settings and basic as possible cause device drivers. To start in safe mode follow the link.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Step 2:

If the problem does not occur in safe mode then boot to the desktop in normal mode and check that the third-party program is causing the problem. To configure your computer to clean boot follow the link below.

  • Size of icons on the desktop

The icons on my desktop got a huge while I was working.  I tried to change the resolution of the screen, but it has no effect.  The police is of normal size, but the icons are huge.  How to make their return to normal?

    Method One

    1 / right-click on a vacant part of the Office .

2 / in the drop-down menu , click the view option.

3 / in the context menu , click one of the following options:

    • Large icons.
    • Medium-sized icons.
    • Classic icons.

The classic icons option will reduce the size the most.

    Second method

If you really want to control the size of the icons on the desktop, then here is a tweak that is really simple to do exactly that.

1 / make sure that the Office is at the point. In other words, click the office button to bring the Office to forward (assuming that you have other programs open).

2 / place your mouse on a free part of the desktop, and then hold down the CTRL (control) key.

3 / press CTRL and hold, and then, with your mouse scroll button, scroll the mouse towards the wheel upwards or downwards to increase or decrease the size of the icons.

4 / once the icons are the size you want, release the CTRL key.

5 / your desktop icons should now appear in a more appropriate size.

  • small images in the icon on the desktop

Sometimes when I create a shortcut on my desktop shows a white square with upper right corner folded down, but the real image of the shortcut is very low. For example: my icon for g-mail is a small envelope framed in red and my bing is a small orange square with a white b in it, but neither one is a full icon. They are inside the white square.

The size of the area corresponding to the icon on the desktop is fine. A small image is sometimes found inside the white square.  The icon is 1/2 inch to 1/2 in., but the real picture is nch 1/4 by 1/4 of an inch.

  • presentation settings pop-up automatically - disapper of the icons on the desktop!

I'm having a problem with the icons on the desktop.  Whenever I start my computer, or disconnect or plug when turned on, the desktop icons disappear, and the program of 'presentation settings' will appear.  The desktop icons disappear.  I right click on the desktop, select display and the "show desktop icons" is selected.  I deselect, then right click, display, show the desktop icons to show.  It becomes really annoying!  I do every time I turn on the computer, unplug the unit while it is on or plug it in.  Each time, the 'presentation settings' lights.  When I use the "Mobility Center" to turn off presentation settings, he points out that they are turned off and does not respond when I try to 'works '.  I have the presentation settings icon right click and stop the presentation.

How can I make this frustrating problem annoyingly go away?

Thank you Mick but you have totally misunderstood the nature of my problem.  I understand how to transform a computer market properly.

My point was that, once the computer is turned on, the presentation settings pop-up and the desktop icons disappear.  In order to get them to show, I have to then do a right-click on the desktop, select view - the "show desktop icons" is selected, but the icons are not - so I have to deselect "show desktop icons"; so, I have to repeat the whole process, this time by selecting "Show desktop icons" until the icons will be displayed.  IF I unplug the computer while it is on, the presentation automatically pop settings - up, the desktop icons disappear and I have to repeat the process.  IF the computer is already unplugged and turned on, and I plug it in, presentation pop up settings and the desktop icons disappear, and I have to repeat the process.  He became EXTREMELY frustrating - it's why I screamed for help...

Anyway, I solved the problem I hope - for some reason any my power settings swiched to profile 'Quiet Office'; When I switched it to the profile "Entertainment", the problem seems to have resolved itself!

  • Icon on the desktop without permission changes - new

This is a thread to an old problem that has re-curred: see also http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/desktop-program-icon-changes-without-authority/88ceb811-edfd-42a0-86ae-f024ebb84c92

I am connected to the re-currency it a few days ago, with some info on the link who has worked the last time and a question.  No one has yet responded, and on the prospect that old nets are more current on your side, I raised it a new.

Specifically, it is the image that I see with the white windows icon

The desktop icon is the element "in white" Windows.  Select it, properties/change icon, I got trapped change Panel adjacent to the empty desktop icon.  The icon displayed by the control panel change is correct.  The path in the target box is correct, and in the Explorer, the file icon is also correct.  Using the process of change icon for the desktop icon, I can change the icon of the Virgin and the other in the list, and that works.  Having done that, change this return returns to the windows item.  Program re - starts, hot and cold, re-boots don't change this.  When the program is opened, the correct icon appears in the system at the bottom of the screen bar.

I have the previous file of fixit winfolder stored on my machine (mentioned in the last thread) and applied.  It found no errors.  Then I tried later that displays the link in the old thread (which the question mentioned was subject), saved the file and then run.  He also found no error.

So, how can I fix this so the correct icon appears on the desktop?
