I have a serious problem with Lenovo.

I bought a T500 last spring. I asked the representative of the sales if series T have even international warranty (I had a T42 and X 41 before and both were covered in most of the countries in the world) and as expected, the T series was still covered at the international level.

This status quo.

I decided to buy the 3-year international warranty, on-site.

Last may, I took a job in the Netherlands and we moved there in July.

my laptop had a problem, I called Lenovo Netherlands and they told me they cannot interview because it was not under warranty.

I contacted Lenovo USA back to find out what was wrong.

I spend a lot of time on the phone, and finally they made me go to this page:

I put my machine type (2081) and I don't see any country in Europe.

I was furious to see that Lenovo USA has a warranty on the T500 in places like the TURKS & CAICOS or Aruba and not in Europe. with my T42 and X 41, guaranteed international meant most countries in the world, not just a couple of the Islands and countries develop.

I then went to the Web of Lenovo UK site and I chose the T500 even. the order also said that I chose a type of 2081. So in theory, British customers who purchase a T500 to the United Kingdom have no guarantee in their own country. And I am sure that our British friends have a warranty on their T500.

So there is obviously something wrong with Lenovo.

I tried to explain over the phone, but no one listens, they constantly through another Department and finally hang on me. Support nice guy. I like the new Chinese owners. Of course, they know how to treat customers. IBM, come back!

I don't know what to do now. I am really upset about Lenovo because they refuse to fix my problem.

They recognize difficulty there is a problem with laptops UK but they say, to the day, it would not apply to me.

Is there someone here who can give me a name, an email, a phone number I can contact?

  • Problems with WD drive external HARD with MBP 15' retina

    Hello

    I bought a WD My passport 3 TB about 6 months ago. After awhile it started to act funny: sometimes I plugged the HARD drive, but it did not show up in the office (after trying it a few times, it worked normally) and some files has been corrupted. I passed the test of WD drive utilities and quick test has been authorized, but 'test Drive Complete' failed.

    After the problem has persisted (and laptop computer find drive HARD became harder and harder) I bought an another WD 2 TB HDD to backup data before returning the 3 TB of warranty drive.

    I copied all the info in the new HARD drive, but I find that, although it works 'well' (the computer always finds the drive and never got corrupted files) the new drive passes the "Test of complete transmission" WD drive either utility. Although possible, I suspect that the new drive is not faulty as well.

    Is there a problem with the whole WD drive utilities, or the WD drives don't work really well with the MBP?

    Is there a reliable way to verify the disk HARD WD on Mac?

  • Problem with the software Modem on Satellite Pro L40

    I tried to set up a connection Dial-Up Networking on a Satellite Pro L40 running Vista and can't get the modem to talk to the modem from the ISP. The connection appears OK and then you can hear the modem dial, but when the ISP picks up there is a bit of yelling and then my modem abandons the connection and I get the standard vista connection failed box.

    -try different cables to plug into the phone jack
    -several different ISPS and phone numbers
    -reduce the maximum speed of the connection
    -connection to the same ISP with my Satellite L10; works very well never have time!
    -using the windows to diagnose and repair the tool (set last resort!); says that the modem works fine and can not find a problem with the connection

    Is it possible that the update of the BIOS on the laptop would make a difference (currently v 1.60)? I did some research on Google and found messages on various forums, which suggests that the connection between the motherboard and the modem chip is a little doubtful for all the Agere Soft Modem; If the case is it something I can fix myself or I should go for warranty repair?

  • Satellite P300-1 year - Touchpad problem with AC adapter / CC

    I have a laptop Satellite P300-1 year and from the beginning (two weeks)
    I have a touchpad problem: it will not immediately responsive and the pointer shakes when pressing the key. Very often, it freezes for only one or two seconds.

    It's VERY annoying. A USB mouse works perfectly.

    The point is that your laptop should be always verified using the Toshiba factory setting.
    Why? Because the ASP wants to make sure that this issue is not related to a software problem (compatibility problems with applications 3rd part). Software problems are not covered by the warranty.

    In addition the ASP will always recover the laptop before the verification of the pieces of equipment to malfunction. Therefore, you should always back up your data from the HARD disk until you send the laptop to check.

    I recommend you to reinstall the operating system using the Toshiba recover disc and then check if the problem appears.
    If yes you can contact ASP and could provide all the necessary details for only one technician.

    Hi guys,.

    my girlfriend ordered a Toshiba Satellite U920T-100 about three months ago and she had problems with it since. We're not quite sure what causes because they seem to happen randomly.

    The questions are:
    -It starts, but it freezes at the Win8 connection with a blue screen (a rather hot blue, no blue screen of death)
    -It starts not at all, only after a few attempts
    -It will not stop
    -It freezes all by organizing files (for example copy of files from A to B, but not yet large amounts of files)

    New: these questions seem to be completely appearing randomly, I wasn't able to reproduce them in any way.

    Also: WLAN connectivity is really bad.
    The laptop is not able to find networks, while my laptop has no problem with it.
    And when he finds them and connect, the connection be lost - once again: no idea why.

    That surprises me the most, because in tests and comments that I've read that connectivity has been praised everywhere.

    I think you should do that because the issue described can be related to system problems, but also hardware problem (HARD drive for example). The resumption of the factory allows you to check if its software or hardware related problem.

    Usually, all the problems of software (System) could be solved by the recovery process. Hardware problems would continue.

    From my point of view, the recovery of the system is the first step, you should try to solve the problem.

  • Need help with a warranty issue, but can't take the computer back to the shop

    I have the following problem:
    I'm a backpacker and bought a Toshiba A660/15j someone in Adelaide. I have the original receipt and the laptop is still under warranty.
    Now 2 issues have been raised. First of all, I sometimes get a message that my system runs too hot and that I should stop the computer immediately and return to the service. When I open the monitor health all values are good and the system does not display any overheating (nor does it feel too hot). The second thing is that about two weeks ago, the battery started to empty real quick. When I now fully recharge the battery and do not touch the computer for 2 days, it will be completely empty. It is surely not normal!

    There may be a build-up of dust in the radiator. You can buy a can of compressed Air from electronic stores (DickSmith and Jaycar for example) to blow dust through the vents.

    What about the battery drain, update the BIOS to the latest version (take a look at mytoshiba.com.au-> Support-> downloads), then go into BIOS by pressing F2 during POST and disable the USB Sleep and fresh.

    If you still have problems with it, you can send the laptop to a Toshiba repair center. There is a list ASP on mytoshiba.com.au
