• Recovery system causing problems with the size of the screen.

  Due to some problems I had, I finally had to yield and perform a system recovery back to the manufacturer's specifications.  Once this is done, I downloaded all the updates to Vista, all the drivers, etc..  Everything is square and works fine now, with a big problem.  I bought a monitor 20 "a few months ago.  It worked fine before the recovery is done.  Since the resumption, the display is smaller, as if I still had the old monitor 15 '' on the system.  I did that the driver for the monitor is correct and up-to-date.  I found a way to enlarge the display of the size of the screen in an online search, but it does not clear up the problem.  For example... If I go to a site like the Pogo, the bottom of the site is almost normal size for the monitor, but the game pop up displays the size of the screen 15 ''.  I tried everything I know and can't get this last problem fixed.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I also checked the resolution and makes sure it's OK for this monitor.  Thanks for your help.

  Do you have the driver from Microsoft or directly from the manufacturer?  If Microsoft, go to the manufacturer website and download THE latest drivers applicable on your screen and the version of Vista (Microsoft sometimes cause problems).  Does the monitor require any firmware - if so, download and install that too much of the manufacturer's web site.  You can also update the video card drivers and firmware just in case it is the underlying cause of the problem - again go to the web site of the manufacturer to get the files rather than using those available through Microsoft.

  Go to start / Control Panel / customization / display settings / and make sure that your monitor is displayed in the drop-down list.  If this is not the case, click on the box and see if you can find your monitor and then select and make the box extend the desktop to this monitor is selected.  Go into the advanced settings, click list all Modes and try one at the top, if it is not already selected (assuming that it is appropriate for your monitor).  If this does not help, try others that are compatible with your monitor to see if you can find one that allows you to achieve your goals.  It may not work, but it's probably worth a try.

  Other than that, I don't know what to think.  You already seem to have covered most if not all of the bases.  If the above does not work, maybe someone else review this thread will have other ideas to offer.

• Problem with the size of the logo when converting to eps

  I'm all new to Illustrator. I created a logo and converted to an eps file. My problem is that when I use the logo, it is a big place with a lot of empty space on the bottom. I size the jury of the art of the area around the logo, but when I convert it I always get this great place with the logo on the top when I paste it into my word document. How do I get cropped to the correct size. I've got someone waiting for that and I can't even it in a format they can use.

  Looks like there is a hidden somewhere element forcing the whole document whenever this element is, even outside of the artboard.  Just a hunch.  Make a command Y (Mac) or control (PC) is to see the contours.  Then do a "select all" and see if the item appears anywhere.  Find it and delete it.  Now, maybe there is no hidden item.  That's what I do for each logo I prep would be: a.) if the work is h 2 "x 3" w (hypothetically speaking), set the size of your 3 x 5 work plan.  Define a holding imaginary line to the size 3 x 5 using a rectangle of 3 x 5 with no line and no fill > then lock it (object > lock selection).  You can benefit by exporting the work as a .tiff RGB and using them in Word.  However, you can import or insert a .eps in Word, but what works best.  I hope this helps.

  Your tiff is most likely at a different DPI.

  for example:

  If your tiff is 1000px x 1000px at 300 dpi = output print size is 3.3 x 3 x 3 inches

  If you place this file in illustrator. He will honor the size resolution and the release of this document BUT it will display at 72 dpi.

  I use a ColdFusion CFC, which is configured to generate an XML string. It runs on ColdFusion MX 6.1 and is configured as a remote web service. I tested the call and it returns the string XML fine when it is called from another method of Flex unfounded. My problem is this simple Flex application to call the same function via a service web, I wrote below. I cannot get to the exit results, keeps showing as NULL. I can't use the HTTP of Flex appeal for remote access because I'm not under MX7. Does anyone know what is wrong with my code?   Thank you very much! I do not have the notion that the HTTPService is indded just an HTTP call. So yes that it a much simpler way to call just ColdFusion to return the XML string to the application. No reason to use Flash Remoting or CFCS etc... and certainly not a web server. This made the turn that I called a HTTPService now what charges by coldfusion page that returns XML and bam, works well with e4x result etc... Thanks tracy!

  They add a drop extra 18px above the image. Heading tags are block tags, which means (in part) that they come with an extra space (margin) above and below). Take off the h2 tags the image moves to the top. Then you can go to the css and the header div 200px height (the height of the photo) instead of 218px and all this will harden.

  Hello, I recently got a netbook 9 "and when I try to play games on it, the entire game screen does not fit into the netbook screen.  This means that I can't play anywhere the menu or game etc controls are at the bottom of the screen. Can someone tell me if I can fix the problem please?

  9-inch netbooks generally have screens of 1024 x 600.  Most games have settings to choose their resolution, choose something like 800 x 600 or 1024 x 600, if they support it, and that should solve it for games that operate at full screen.

  If you talk about browser based games, unfortunately they often have a fixed resolution.  In Internet Explorer, you can go to tools-> full screen to hide the browser frame that will free up a little space, but other than that there is not a lot that can be done about it, it's an a limit to have such a low vertical resolution.   Have you tried to turn the rulers (Cmd (Ctrl) r)? This will give you something to measure. Other wise, go to the right end of the control bar and select again you want to display in the control bar.

  I have a 320CDT Satellite with the latest BIOS (v8.00) and Windows 98 Second edition installed. There are 32MB memory base and a 32 MB module in the single expansion slot. If I change it to a plug-in 64 MB I see that 64 MB of total memory reported, not 96 as expected; the specification for the machine indicates that the admissible maximum memory is 160 MB (32 MB base + 128MB expansion). Does anyone know if there is a problem with the maximum memory size for this model and if there is a solution or workaround? I need to know quickly, in order to decide if I should return the memory module to the vendor! Thanks a lot for any help, Peter

  Satellite 320CDT supports an internal memory of 32 MB and a single slot can be used!
  You can improve it to max 96 MB (32 + 64 MB)
  I found a few old memory modules. You can use the modules SODIMM 144 pin EDO PA2043U 32 MB or 64 MB PA2044U

• Problem with the loading of XML and xmlns

  I'm having a problem with loading an XML file that was created by Filemaker.  FileMaker will display an XML file by using one of two different grammars.  A poster of a standard form for the most that I can use with a glitch.  Flash CS4 AS3 seems to have a problem with the xmlns in one of the nodes.

  I need it so that the user can enter/change the data and simply output the XML file of Filemaker and then the Flash load the XML file not corrupted and displays the information requested by the user.  That is to say I might have the user open the XML file in a word processing application and have remove them the xmlns..., but it is rather heavy and not very user-friendly.

  I tried all the xml.ignore functions I could find, but it does not help.  I hope someone out there can help you

  The ':' is what we call a scope resolution operator. Using namespace allows you to potentially have two or more nodes that have the same name but a namespace 'different '. "These are normally specified in xml in the form xmlns:mynamespace ="http://myuniqueURI.com/etc"

  Normally, you would use the mynamespace:node by naming your xml nodes that are specific to this namespace.

  But the best is that namespace by default, when there is no real Prefixeespacenom: in the name of node as:

  That's how it is specified in your xml file, that is to say all the nodes without a prefix belong to the filemaker namespace.
