  I'm looking to get a new laptop for a company, I'm leaving, and I was thinking about a mac. However, most of my software is based on windows. My only concern with a mac, is that while I can have all my VM set up, I can not run VMWare Workstation on OSX, so if I need to change something in the settings of the virtual machine, I need access to a PC with VMWare workstation.

  Run 'show port-security' on the switch and see what you have.  You can also view the current configuration of the port connected to an esx.  A switch will remove any doubt relating to port config differences type.

  This phenomenon was linked to your video driver (atikmpag.sys) /DirectX.  I would completely remove the current driver and install the latest driver available.
