  I have a HP Pavilion dv4 and am running Windows 7.  I recently discovered that my optical drive (hp CDDVDW TS-L633N) is unable to read DVD + R.  The unusual detail is that it reads DVD-R, and CD without any problems.  Also, I can write a DVD + R.

  Because I just returned from Latin America, I thought that this problem was related to the locale.  Nope... the regional setting is correct.

  I uninstalled the driver and restarted the computer, but that didn't work.  I also downloaded Windows Fix it tool and failed there as well.

  Any other suggestions?

  Thanks for the suggestion.  I'm embarrassed to say that at the end of the day, there is a very simple solution that I forgot.  In other words, the lens just needs a good cleaning.

  Because it was reading DVD-R and CD format without any problem, I assumed the problem was related to a software problem.  After cleaning the lens with a Q-Tip and isopropyl alcohol, however, everything seems to be.  Thanks again for all the suggestions!

  Recently, I replaced my Tecra M2(: MODEL NO PTM20E-0MTGR-EN, SERIAL # 54579007G) hard drive and reinstalled windows xp.

  I did most of my files on an external drive, but I don't have the original installation discs. I am now unable to read DVD or use Win DVD 4 (which came with the machine.

  Is there a file I can download to reinstall dvd playback or otherwise what method can I use to wind dvd port 4 from the external hard drive (there the dll and .exe file but no installation file)

  If you have written about WinDVD player bundled with the laptop, in this case, the situation is as follows: WinDVD player is part of the installation image and may not be downloaded from the Toshiba download page.

  If you want to use the same application, you need to download a free version of the download from producer page or buy it as all other applications. When you buy the computer Toshiba laptop to ensure that each customer can view DVDs and install WinDVD player. If you use original recovery image, you can use it every time but if you want to use your own OS, in this case you are solely responsible for the installation of the OS and software to use.

  If you have preinstalled with success the OS I recommend using any DVD player application. Intervideo WinDVD, one do not.

  Are you sure that this drive is compatible with media CD/DVD + ?
  As much as I know the reader in this device is only compatible with CD - R, CD - RW, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD - RW, DVD-RAM (read-only).
  In addition, you should try different DVD from different manufacturers. But like I said no + DVD.

  I have a Windows XP with service pack 3 and I am currently unable to read DVD + RW or CD - r on my computer.  The computer thinks that the disk is empty, even if the information is there and it works fine on other computers.  It * can * read commercially created the CD and DVD, however.  The only fix I can find is in the 899527 article which I'm unable to install since it was apparently incorporated in service pack 3 already.  I contacted the manufacturer of the drive and it seems to work fine according to them.  Does anyone know what anyone else that I can try to fix this problem?

  It is very likely that your optical drive needs a firmware update to play the new formats of optical media.  Please tell the forum the brand and the model of the optical drive and the make and model of your system if the optical drive is packed with it.   1.), you don't need to call your "writeback" as your informed XML file. The reference in point answers to and not writeback.xml

  2.) did you put the file in the correct location? That is \OracleBI\web\msgdb\customMessages?

  3.) did you restart your services or at least hit "Reload the files and metadata" in the administration of server close?

  4.) are you sure that you want to do is INSERT and not an update?

  I tested your file here, and it fires off like that.

  one) you get specific error messages?

  (b) this happens to you with all the disks or just this one?

  Things you want to check for:

  Ø ensure you that the disk is properly inserted in the drive.

  Ø If the disc is inserted correctly, and you still can't write data, that the disk may be full or write protected.

  Ø you can use a disk that is not write-protected or disable protection against writing by moving the tab of the write protection on the lower part of the drive to close.

  O check the floppy drive on another computer.

  O check with different disks on your computer.

  It is almost always a problem of permission to write (despite the ambiguous message).  LR ' t for some write reason the files to the selected location.

  Food seems to be OK. You have no episode 'itunes:subtitle' or 'itunes:summary' tags so your episodes show no description, but it would not have prevented the store read the stream. The episodes seem OK - the URL begins with https rather than http, but this used to be a problem it seems to be now. If they had problems with real media files episode the error message would say that they were "difficult to download episodes from your stream.

  So I don't know what the problem is. Maybe your server because the power is negative reaction to specific applications on the iTunes Store - this has been known to occur even though it is unusual - while being OK with the iTunes application and browsers. You can try to ask for the support of aid, but essentially they will only address problems at their end, not yours. • Qosmio G30-201 is unable to read the hd discs

  I cleaned the lens of the hd player and the discs are all clean and withought scratches. The reader will read audio CDs and regular CDs, he also wrote for the dvd and cd discs.

  When I insert a HD disc in the drive it just continues to produce a whiring sound strang and will not play.
