Problemo Vista Premium to Ultimate upgrade

Hi-

During the installation of the ultimate upgrade, get "one or several components of the system could not be configured", then it restarts and pours me premium.

How to tell what is causing the problem and repair?

LW

Can you please provide the model number, it is usual on your turn, you can also find a service number for Dell computers, this will help to find the latest drivers from the Dell Support Web site: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen

Do you have antivirus software or security suites installed on your system? You uninstall them before upgrading?

Hi back from the guy with a new query.

"" I'm looking to upgrade Vista Home Premium to Ultimate... checked the requirements of what is known on the "Windows anytime upgrade" site and I can you there is a lot of conflicting ideas on how its all done up to the fact that I would need a disc to upgrade mailed to me.

After reading a few other forums recently, the answer lies in what you guys can or perhaps are not able to advise me... and the question is:

Only the so-called "rescue disk" provided with the purchase, IE the Windows operating system disk... ALL CONTAIN THE ' VISTA "SYSTEMS AVAILABLE..." Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate? and very unlikely, but she coded upgrade or anything like that, as its meant to be to perform upgrades?

Thanks a lot again in anticipation of your kind comments

    Andrew.

Firs of all I think you should know that it is a forum for users and to my knowledge, there is no guy from Toshiba which could provide instructions.
I know, it's, your Toshiba Recovery DVD contains the same Win Vista that was preinstalled on your laptop.
It seems that you bought this laptop with Vista Home Premium and this operating system should be placed on the recovery media.

Please DON t mix the Toshiba Recovery DVD with a DVD of new, original and clean Microsoft Vista.
Toshiba Recovery contains an image include the OS, drivers, tools and additional software.
    It s already active.

The MS Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista but to use a version of Vista that a right serial key must be inserted.

Hope I could make a clarification.

    Concerning

  • Impossible to reinstall Vista 'Red' full ultimate upgrade after having to perform a restore.

I have a Toshiba Satellite P505D with Vista Home Premium pre-installed and previously implemented to upgrade to Vista 'Red' Ultimate bought authorized MS media and key. I also have the valid Windows 7 Home premium upgrade media and key, as was offered at the time of the purchase of the laptop, but not yet installed.

I just had to perform a complete restoration of the original Toshiba media (Vista - Home Premium), but after the restoration by using the option 'online' to 'receive all updates of course MS', I tried to reinstall my Vista Ultimate ' Red' update, but I could not upgrade "in line to receive available updates" and was invited that "no other support is available for the Vista SP1 that I» do a clean install"which, once carried out, wiped out the mfg provided o/s and S/W and made my lap top"seeks", an operating system. I still had to re - install Vista Home Premium, but this time through recovery of the mfg media offline and then re-installed all the updates of windows. Where is the status of my OS right now.

The upgrade of Windows 7 I had received, upgraded my Vista - Home premium 7 - Home Premium. I bought Vista Ultimate "Red" upgrade before treating the offer to upgrade to Windows 7 and now cannot use or get help for him apparently. I want to reinstall my Vista Ultimate upgrade, but if it is not supported, I'll continue to use my Windows 7 upgrade. Am I eligible somehow to uprade my Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate edition through my purchase of Vista Ultimate?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    1. your ultimate Vista package should improve your current OS without much in the way of a problem.  The patch SP2 should not prevent the update as far as I KNOW (I know).  I guess it's possible that it may be (* the DVD) versions prior to SP2 and therefore could doesn't recognize not the operating system installed as something it can be upgraded.  Is there anything that is engraved on the DVD itself that tells you if it includes SP1 or SP2?

What happens when you put in the DVD and it Autostarts or you choose to run the installation, and then choose update?  What is the specific message or the reason for the failure?  (To be exact with the message.)

    2. you can proceed directly to Windows 7 Ultimate from where you are now.  This web page outlines the valid paths and as you can see, Windows Vista Home Premium, you can either go Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Ultimate edition.

What are the differences between the versions?  This web page shows some of the basics.  This comparative table goes in the finer details.

Basically, however, you need not go through another version of Windows Vista to Windows 7 (two versions mentioned in any case) nor would gain you something by doing this.

As the manufacturer of the system with a Windows 7 upgrade path themselves - they need to support this system with Windows 7 installed on it - which is a good thing for you.  You may want to visit the support from the manufacturer of such and downloads section now to make sure they have drivers of hardware devices for all the hardware in your system to Windows 7 – just a precautionary measure.  Also - make sure that any software that you have installed on your own is Windows 7 compatible and all peripherals you have set (or sometimes attach) to the system.

    # Anytime Upgrade is specific edition.  If Home Premium was the original OS on the computer and then restore it and then use the HP upgrade last month to THE or buy a professional for the last update.

Except if you have language packs that come with Ultimate I'd stay professional.  Professional is expected to support up to 2020, while Ultimate is limited to supported until 2015.

  • Vista Express from Vista Business to Ultimate upgrade (with license Ultimate home)

I have a computer that doesn't work anymore, when I arrived he had Vista home. I did a whole time upgrade to Vista Ultimate. Since then, I have a new computer that has Vista Business installed on it. I have already installed all my software and transferred files. Now I try to do the upgrade with my Ultimate (software Licensing Commerce Client) key anytime and get the error "cannot install license package. This license package cannot be installed from the edition of windows that you are using"it offers the phone number and website to help and both are out of use.

How can I fill this upgrade? Get in touch with someone to get a different license key?

I can't install the Vista-Home of the original computer because he has only a restore disk, and the news is another brand.

    Hi Ron2010,

Please check whether your current operating system is activated. You would not be able to upgrade to any edition if it is not enabled.
You can check this link for more details on this error message: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/930377
Let me know if that solves the problem.

  • Windows 7 Home premium to ultimate upgrade

    Hello

    recently, I bought Y560 with 64-bit Windows 7 home premium (with i7 & 8 GB of RAM).

I was told that in order to better use the resource that the laptop has been it is better to go for Windows 7 Ultimate.

Is this true? It is worth the upgrade to Ultimate?

    Thanks for the tips.

    Vinciane

    Hi Joel,.

It's hard to say. It depends on whether or not you need/want the extra features included in Ultimate. You can find a comparison between Ultimate and Home Premium using the link below. Also remember there are alternatives to these features if you miss one of them it could be cheaper and better to find another application to perform this task alone. It might even be available freeware that can do the same thing.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Windows-7/compare/default.aspx

If you do not miss the extra features, I would say that it is not worth to spend money on an upgrade to Ultimate.

  • Win7 Home Premium to Ultimate upgrade

I have win 7 home premium on my computer and works well.  I want to go to the ultimate with a new disc install ultimate (version integral 64-bit) when I try to install it, and use the 'upgrade' prompt, Setup stops and sent it to me to Microsoft "anytime upgrade page" is anyway I can get around this?  or is the "anytime upgrade" the only way to upgrade to Ultimate? The disc I have nine and possess the product unused key.

Ok. Simply enter the product key when asked to do so. There are a small chance that the upgrade may not work (see the bottom of my first post) If you have two choices: 1) just to check their website for any questions related to the Express upgrade or the Anytime Upgrade 2) call of the factory supported team.

  • Upgrade Vista Home Premium to Ultimate - Windows complete PC Backup and Restore

    Dear Madam, dear Sir

Upgraded my laptop HP DV7 Vista Home Premium to Ultimate, mainly to use Windows complete PC Backup and Restore.

The restore time and unfortunately no option in the boot menu at startup to restore system from images. No menu advanced etc. I guess starting always remains at the level of the premium and does not provide "Windows complete PC Backup and Restore" restore options.

Grants menu of system restore points, with only the last good restore point and no option to select point of previous restoration or system image to restore from.

    Mmmm nice ideas...

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Complete PC Backup is designed for the reinstallation of the operating system that you have backed up.

You access it to start from a Vista DVD.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/Windows-Vista-complete-PC-Restore/

To restore a full backup of the computer, you must proceed within the Windows recovery environment. To access the Windows recovery environment, you will need to insert your Vista DVD in the DVD drive on your computer and turn on your computer.

    See you soon.

I want to install Windows 7 Professional.  I ran the Windows Upgrade Advisor, and he told me that I can upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium and Ultimate. Why not professional? Or is this correct?

You can still install Windows 7 Pro, but it requires a custom installation. This will remove all your programs (you will need to reinstall them), but you can save your files and settings to external storage before doing so.

If you want to make a place in the upgrade you will need Home Premium or Ultimate.

What Upgrade Options are available for Windows 7?
If you are running Windows Vista , in some cases you can proceed directly to Windows 7, and in other cases, you must perform a custom installation. The following table shows what editions of Windows Vista can be upgraded to Windows 7.

    Windows Vista Home Basic

Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Ultimate

    Windows Vista Edition Home Premium

Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Ultimate

    Windows Vista Business
