problems because of the uninstalled windows firewall?

Hello, my usb modem recently had problems & my operator asked me to uninstall the windows firewall. the problem was not solved & they just send a new modem. my internet is laggy and I wonder - is this due to the fact that animals such as the pop ups make it real slow (by uninstalling the firewall)? How do we install this return?

What operating system do you use?

If you use Vista, you might not have uninstalled Windows Firewall.

Windows Firewall is party to the Vista system. He lives and dies with the system. It can NOT be uninstalled, cannot be reinstalled.

You can have it turned off.

Try the following procedures for re - starting the Windows Firewall...

Start button > in the search box, type services > press the Enter key > scroll down to Windows Firewall...
under the State column, it must be said... Has begun
under Startup Type, it must be said... Automatic
If it does not, right click on Windows Firewall > properties > in the next window...
Change the Startup Type to Automatic by clicking the pointer at the end
change the status of Service beginning
Click OK when finished.

  • Windows cannot start the service windows firewall

My windows Security Center indicates that "the windows firewall is disabled.  When I try to turn it on I get the message "windows is unable to start the service windows firewall."  Any suggestions?

    Hello

The answer depends on what you have anti-virus security.

If you have, for example, Norton Internet Security protects your computer, it is using Firewall from Norton.

If you have 2 firewall of exploitation, which can cause system hangs, slow, etc.

What Antivirus do you use for computer security?

If you don't have a Suite of Internet security, protect your computer, scan for Malware:

Download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware, if necessary in Mode safe mode with networking:

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

And here's how to go in Safe Mode options; Select safe mode with networking from the list of options:

  • Reinstallation of Flash after the uninstall - Windows Pro 8.1

I lived with some flash content problems; a site has no volume, others would not load the videos at all, etc.  Believing that I had to uninstall and reinstall FP, I followed the steps on the following url:

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/Flash-Player/KB/uninstall-Flash-Player-Windows.html

The above url must have a huge warning just upstairs, "NOT FOR WINDOWS 8/8.1.

After running the uninstall tool provided and delete the specified files, reinstall FP proved to be impossible.

Try to reinstall in IE10 inevitably redirects me:

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/Flash-Player/KB/Flash-Player-issues-Windows-8.html

I thought at the same time I don't need to install FP because it is integrated into IE in Windows 8, and I don't use IE in windows 8.

    Capture.JPG

I ran across the pre-packaged diagnosis.

    1. In tools > manage add-ons, Shockwave Flash Object is present and 'Active '.
    2. I checked the ActiveX filtering is unchecked.
    3. Windows does not allow me to update IE to get the latest version to provide me with an error message that the update is already installed.

Other pages that were useless due to do not apply to my question, or the tools provided do not work:

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/Flash-Player/KB/installation-problems-Flash-Player-Windows.html

    http://www.Adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

I also tried a couple of full package downloads provided in other discussions in this forum.  I get an error of installation: "your Microsoft Internet Explorer browser includes the latest version of Adobe Flash Player built-in.  "Windows Update you will be notified when new versions of Flash Player are available."

I see that others have had similar problems in the past, and that Windows Update fixed the issue when an update of the public Service became available.  I don't want to wait for that to happen.  There must be a way to actively install FP in point 8.1 of Windows.

It was the final clue, I needed to solve this problem that takes weeks.  The filtering settings activate flash and active-x were not causing my problem, it was something that was wrong during this update.

The specific number will change over time.  In my case it was kb3008925.

On the flash test page: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-issues-windows-8.html

The update for flash player Internet exploring down will give you the number of KB when it downloads and you get the error message that it is already installed.  Use this number of kb to uninstall the update, as pnutlovr says, then restart IE, then reinstall the update.

  • The 113 Windows Firewall port

    Hello

I connect to several network devices using telnet, ssh, and ftp.
If I activate the Windows Firewall connects it to take about 10-15 seconds to reach. If I disable the firewall it is instantaneous.
What I've read I need to allow TCP Port 113 (auth / ident) to pass the firewall Windows may reject it properly.
I added a new rule for Port 113 and rebooted, but I still have the same question.
If I turn off the firewall, it works fine, so I know there is not no process running on my PC which interacts with port 113.
In windows 8 I got this problem and never solved so I installed ZoneAlarm which has worked well and I have no problem connecting.
Now, I've upgraded to Windows 8.1 this problem is back and ZoneAlram is not supported.

A certain offer any advise how it opens correctly on the firewall and if there is anything else I need to do.
    Thank you

No do you have ideas on this?

I tried to add inbound and outbound allow rule of traffic, I tried a block but neither seems to help.
Disable the firewall, it works very well!

I just started using Adobe Premiere.  I am to change some old video files .mpg and who were captured using a version of Cyberlink Director of project (from approximately 2006 or 2007).  I am able to edit them using the video editor from Adobe, however, when I try to play, I get a message saying "the selected file cannot be read because your system does not have the necessary compression/decompression (codec) installed.".

I had a quick glance in the section that comes up saying 'Click here for more information', but the information does not seem to relate to codecs (for example how can I import the correct codec etc.).

I also had a look on responses to the questions in this forum and been more widely on the internet, but could not find satisfactory answers.

I wonder if someone would have a solution to my problem or even directly suggest me to a website with a solution.

  • No windows firewall after the fbi virus

Recently, I caught the virus from the FBI and used Norton Power Eraser to get rid of him. However, now my windows firewall will not turn on. I get the 2different error messages: 'Due to an unidentified problem, Windows cannot display Windows Firewall settings,' and when I try to update the firewall settings "Windows Firewall could not make the requested updates. It also does not allow me to activate Windows defender, giving me the error code '0 x 800070424 '. Hello

What do you use for an Antivirus and it is part of a Suite of Internet Security?

If you are using an Internet Security Suite, it will have its own firewall and disables the default Windows Firewall.

And you should have only one firewall to avoid problems related to the operating system.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

If you use Norton, AVG, Avira, Microsoft Security Essentials, McAfee, etc. the default action is for Windows Defender must be disabled, that these AntiVirus programs have their own Antispyware Applications.

    There is nothing to worry.

Using both programs at the same time can cause system conflicts, etc.

If you are using one of the above AntiVirus programs, this Information from David O - Support Engineer shows you how to manually enable Windows Defender (disregard information from uninstalling; not possible in Vista):

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_vista-security/how-do-i-manually-start-Windows-Defender-in-Vista/dab845b2-9ba5-47F3-9518-c4c6781e7d5b

"Go to start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. Look for Windows Defender.

Right click and select Properties , ensure that Startup Type is automatic.

Once modified, click apply and OK.

Quit and restart your computer. Check the back take the same path to confirm that Windows Defender has started"

    .

If you want to have additional protection against malware using the version FREE of Malwarebytes AntiMalware:
