Problems caused by Service Pack 2

Last year, I got my HP Vista 32 bit twice because of problems with the mouse pointer, paste (especially to the "Awakening"), delays to scroll (then a movement of catch-up "jerky"), failure to stop on command (requiring the close button) and occasionan freeze ups.  Whenever I got it back, these problems have been eliminated, but as soon as I install Service Pack 2 they return immediately.  Is there a solution/solution for this?  What are the implications and problems do not have SP2 on my computer?

Hello

1 did you changes to the computer?

2 did you receive an error message?

3. is service pack 2 is installed successfully on the computer or did you receive an error message during the installation of service pack 2?

Method 1:

Step 1:

I suggest you check in safe mode.

Start your computer in safe mode

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Step 2:

I suggest you perform the clean boot and check.

Place the computer in a clean boot state, then check if it helps. You can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

To set up the computer in a clean boot, follow the steps in the link: How to perform a clean boot

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After checking in the clean boot, follow step: 7 article to reset your computer to normal startup.

Method 2: I also suggest that you scan your computer with the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Important: During the scan of the hard drive if bad sectors are found, the scanner tries to repair this sector, all available on which data may be lost.

I suggest update you also the mouse driver and check.

I also suggest you to update from the manufacturing mouse drivers.

  • Problems to install Service Pack 1 for Vista

    Hello

I'm running my computer on Vista Home Premium 32 bit only.

I'll just say everything that happened to that meets anyone knows exactly what is happening. Recently, I received a few DVDs of the trial version of Adobe, who quickly, I tried to install. The installer says I need Windows XP Service Pack 3 or Vista Service Pack 1. I found this curious because I thought that I had installed SP1 long ago when it appeared on Windows Live Update. After checking, I discovered that I had not installed for some reason any. I watched in Live Update for download, but it wasn't there, so I came on the Microsoft site and downloaded the stand-alone version of the service pack. I have closed all the programs that I had running and run Setup. He got to halfway through the installation bar (first?) and has stalled for a while, then extended to the end of the bar and displays an error, which contained a link to this page: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/947366. I followed the steps in resolution 2 and downloaded system update readiness tool. I ran the installer, but it seemed just to stall for a long time, so I canceled and he run. This time I got an error before he began to install (Code: 0 x 80240009). I looked for a solution and came across this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833, with some people claiming it fixed.
I followed the steps and restarted my computer and it is no longer displayed the error, but it just keeps stalling at the installation screen. I decided to see if I could find an alternative
solution to the original problem with the Service Pack and came across someone who says that McAffee was responsible, which is the virus scanner, that I installed it on my computer. I disabled
pretty well all of the program, as well as my firewall and restarted the computer again. I ran the installation but got the same error. I have reactivated my firewall and McAffee and now I'm
at a loss on what to do next.
To sum up; I can't install SP1 or system analysis tool and I need to.
If you need more information, let me know.
    Thanks in advance

    Hello, Ember09

This seems to be an invalid data error code, Service Pack 1 installer was corrupted when you downloaded it, try to download it once more and check if you get the error again.

    Download the stand-alone update: x 64 | x 86

  • Problem with Vista Service pack 2

Like a fool, I downloaded and installed this service pack.  Now my computer restarts.  I spent 12 hours with the technicians MSFT trying to solve the problem, and I still have the problem.  MSFT says the problem with my DELL hard drive.  DELL said that the hard drive is fine.

I even reinstalled windows - take 3 hours - and I still have the same problem.  I tried to start in safe mode but after loading the files a few dozens, my computer crashes.   I can't to windows to open.  I can't go to my office.  I can't remove this insidious update.

I can't completely clean the computer I have important files that I'm going to lose.  MSFT and DELL say I need to have a tech shop and have them remove the disc and save my files.  I want to know who will pay for what is not my fault.

    Help, please

    Hello

One of the easiest ways to remove your data is put the drive in an external USB enclosure and
Copy the files to a different drive or just use this as an external drive and install a new in your
computer. Don't forget that looks like the system has problems and I bet it's the hard drive
    drive interface controller card mother.

Another real possibilities, is that you have a Rootkit that is causing the problem.

    Good luck.

  • Problem installing Vista Service Pack 1

    Hello

I searched the internet for hours now and have found many people with the same problem but I couldn't find a solution.

I just bought software that requires Vista service pack 1 which I thought that I had already but I didn't so I installed it.
It goes through the whole process of installation and the last section after restarting, it goes to a black screen where it moves well as files or something but locks files 37898/94821 with the message:! 0xc01a001d! (\Registry\Machine\COMPONENETS\winners\x86...).

If anyone has had this problem and know what to do.
My laptop is fine without service pack 1, but my new software needs to work so I have to download it.

    Thank you

    Hello

To be honest, I never had any problem with my Vista updates
The Vista updates automatically every time when I m online and when new updates are available

How have you tried to update the Vista operating system?
Have you downloaded the SP1 version first on the HARD drive or do you run an automatic update?

If the automatic update does not work, try to download the SP1 version first, and then start the update procedure:

    SP1 can be downloaded here:

  • After you install Windows XP Service Pack 3, my computer keeps restarting on repeatedly. How can I resolve this problem and use Service Pack 3?

I downloaded Windows XP Service Pack 3, yesterday, Microsoft's official site, and after that I managed to install successfully, it makes my computer continuously.

I searched this problem with Service Pack 3, and he seems to have an impact on nearly everyone who uses it.
I also searched for solutions to this problem, but they do not work for me after that I tried them.
I would greatly appreciate anyone who has solved this problem and did Service Pack3 achievable without having their computer restarted constantly.

    Hi Robert,.

I managed to solve the WinXP SP3 reboot loop by reinstalling WinXP fully and then install SP3.
Now, the reboot loop disappeared and I can use SP3 without any problem.
Thank you very much for your help and assistance.
    I really appreciate it.
    Best regards

  • Problem with Update Service Pack 3

I am running Windows XP with SP3, even automatic update repeatedly wants to install it, or maybe he wants to install an update, for it is written 'Update 1 1.'  Several times, I get a message 'fail' when it tries to install the "Update 1, 1."  I wonder if it is not recognizing the SP3, or if it fails to update SP3 - whatever it is, this problem could make my computer vulnerable to viruses, etc..  Help this issue would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Thank you for your response.  It turns out that I was doing a lot of maintenance you suggested, and I've done the other things you suggested, but the problem persists.

It says "installing Office 2003 Service Pack 3 (SP3) update 1 of 1.  It seems he'll have success, but then I get the same old notice of default and the yellow shield with the! is displayed again.

This is NOT Windows XP service Pack 3, or really have anything to do with Windows XP.

    My suggestion is

Locate your installation of Microsoft Office 2003 (CD) media and product key (should be on the CD case, but you can also use Belarc Advisor to analyze your system and get your product key for Microsoft Office 2003)

Uninstall Microsoft Office 2003 Panel--> Add / Remove Programs (and everything associated.)

    Restart the computer.

Install Microsoft Office 2003 for your support of installation and usage of your product key.

    Restart the computer.

Search and install all updates critical/high-priority http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/, restart and check again and repeat this process until there are no more critical/high priority left.  Ignore all optional updates for now.

You can trust in the security of ANY computer used until you have formatted the hard drive & then did a clean install of Windows.

  • Problems starting Vista Service pack 1 update - buckle boot - now

    Hello

Vista Home Premium (SP0) ran on our home computer. Due to the loss of IE7 support on some sites, that we needed to update IE and then install Service Pack 1 (SP1). After 3 hours of nail-biting install the computer hooked to black screen. Reboot and reset revealed a restart loop. (SP1 was choice of Native Windows updater)

This was the beginning of a strange troubleshooting. I consider myself a PC tech, but I discovered that this is not the case.

    • I started popping up in the Vista repair disk supplied with the PC, hoping to get the repair of the system than Vista point created before installing SP1. I got a blue screen after you start the DVD. STOP: 0x0000C1F5.
    • I jumped into a recovery CD UBCD4Win CD, I created a while ago with XP preinstalled runtime environment. Started good CD and read up on some forums. They asked to remove Pending.xml and another file which I can't put my finger on ATM there is no improvement to reboot loop or BSOD STOP.
      http://www.Google.com/search?q=remove+pending.XML+Vista+SP1+reboot+loop
    • I read on some forum more. I created a SystemRescueCD with a preinstalled environment location of linux. I deleted the file $Txflog. Following the instructions I can't boot the PC more: pre-launch control ok, black screen startup Windows system manager ntoskrnl.exe 0xC0000098.
I have had no problems to start the Vista recovery DVDs. As stated in the guide that I tried to reset the system restore point created Vista before installing SP1. I get an error at the end of the restoration of the system: system recovery failed due to an unknown error 0 x 80070570.
      http://www.Google.com/search?q= \$Txflog+vista+remove+systemrescueCD
    • After a few Snort of the forum more than that I was instructed to copy system files in folder windows\system32 and drivers. However, I could not find the hal.dll file as instructed but copied the remaining files without a hitch. This has not changed the situation.
(Stange done here, the cmd and the windows recovery environment guest is in Italian, despite the version of windows being a Dutch version. I chose the Dutch at first. is there a way I can change the language in Dutch?)
      http://www.Google.com/search?q=Ntoskrnl.exe+0xc0000098+HAL.dll+copy

So I'm here. All possible solutions are welcome. Please ensure that they are based. I'll try to uninstall SP1 tomorrow through the Windows recovery environment guest. I do accept solutions involving a complete reinstallation of Vista. I have a Windows 7 DVD, but none touch 2nd. It's another language too (Dutch - 7 English Vista). So installation on a W7 is not a direct option.

Please let me know something. Thank you guys!

SP1 is not the issue.  I saw this with a lot of Dell computers at work.
Unfortunately, the solution is a clean install of Vista with SP1 included in the installation DVD.

If this is a Dell computer, you can contact Dell to obtain a copy of the appropriate disk Vista with SP1 (SP2) installed.
