Problems connecting to a printer (Brother HL-2140) network

How to connect to a network printer from a Win7 PC.

RT is the shared printer on the network, but can not find the driver (it tries to search for the update of MS for one).  Site said Microsoft printer compatibility is supported in the CR (Brother HL-2140).

I can browse the Brother website for the driver, but it comes as an exe that RT does not run, instead of just a driver file.

Have you tried to install it as a USB printer, then changing the USB port to the LAN. In the case of a connected network add a new point to the IP of the printer TCP/IP port, so attached via another PC create a local port, but the name of the UNC path of the printer path is \PCNAME\PRINTERNAME.

I have a HP photosmart D110 printer. Most of the time, it has been great so far, but sometimes it disconnect and won't let me print. Now, he says that it is offline and no matter what I have changed nothing. I used the HP print and scan doctor but it says that it cannot connect with my camera. After exhausting all other options, I decided to uninstall and reinstall the software. Well, I tried to reinstall with the officail for my printer HP software but it does not work. Whenever I put the IP address of the printer in, the screen will say that it has not been found. So I tried to find the IP address without type me into it, but it still does not work. I have a wireless connection to my laptop, laptop to my printer. I can connect to the printer itself to my network, but of course, now that the software is uninstalled I can't do anything.

I am really stuck and need help.

Well, you will need to read the manual of your router and your printer manual.  Go to your printer support page and searching the web site of HP using too.

  • Unable to connect to a printer Brother MFC - 240 c to Windows 7 computer network

The computer of my network which is connected directly to the internet and my router is a computer running Windows Vista (32 bit). My computer is connected through the network to access the internet and the printer connected to the computer base. My computer was also under Vista and networking has worked well.

I installed Windows 7 (64-bit, not by choice, done automatically) on my computer and now I can't connect to the printer on the Vista machine. I can access the internet (even if it is significantly slower than when I had vista) and on basic computer file sharing, but I can not configure the printer. The printer is a Brother MFC - 240 c
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

I'm assuming you get an error indicating that the print driver for 64-bit is not installed in the Vista machine.  You can either install a 64-bit driver that has the same name as the x 86 driver on the Win7 machine printing and reattempt the connection, install the 64-bit driver that has the same name on the Vista computer (for other 64-bit machines), but it's more difficult.

Alternatively, you can set the machine to check Windows Update for a printer driver that has the same name as the 32-bit print driver.  If gpedit.mcs run for the version of Windows you have.

If there is no matching driver name, you cannot make a RPC connection, but you can create an SMB connection.  Search for Local Port.  There are many posts on this.

  • Problem connecting to a printer USB to Equium A60

I tried to connect a USB printer, Photosmart C3180, to my laptop Toshiba Equium A60 model but when I load the software and follow the instructions it seems to load correctly, then at the end the following error message appears "specified Port unknown".

I tried everything the printer manufacturing suggested and even downloaded the latest Toshiba BIOS updates, but this still does not work. The PC detects new hardware but won't install it.

I tried with another USB printer and the same message appeared.
    Any ideas?

    Hello

It seems that the printer port name specified does not exist on your computer.
You must use the Print Manager to see the current list of ports, you can print and use one of these.

  • Computer cannot connect to the printer via the local network

I have two computers sharing a printer, the printer is connected with USB is Vista Home Premium 32-bit. The other which must be connected wireless is old computer Windows 7 Home Premium. My, I suppose his ultimate, I'm not sure tho, that works fine with the printer. This Home Premium one just can not connect to the printer. It keeps saying can't find a print reader, I downloaded a universal driver HP that I learned other positions, and he said that it was not a correct driver.

I asked our technical support to help me. And he told me that Home Premium has this problem. The only way I can solve this is to update my system at least pro. I checked online but I have not seen someone talked about this. Just make sure that is it true? If not, what can do now?
    Thank you very much.

  • Problems connecting to the internet using the wireless network connection

I can't connect to the internet using my wireless network connection. I had made the diagnosis and he stated that "the DHCP is not enabled for the wireless network connection. I had checked the DHCP, but it has been activated!... Someone would give any suggestion for me to solve the problem?

Open the run command box by pressing Windows key + R, type services.msc and press enter . Search The Client DHCP and check if it is enabled or disabled. If disabled then turn it on and see if the problem still persists or not.

Open the run command box by pressing Windows key + R, type cmd , and press enter . At the command prompt, type ipconfig/all and press ENTER. Now, check the IP address, default gateway, DNS etc. If you find all the information is correct, but you cannot yet access the Internet so if you connect the wireless network is secure or not. To determine the glance to the wireless network icon in the taskbar, then click on it. It will show you the available wireless networks. If there is a "yellow shield" present on the network icon, the network is not guaranteed, if there is no "yellow shield" does while the network is secure. In a secure network, you might have a "network security key. In this case try to disable the 'Network security key' option for this network. To do this:

Open Control Panel , click network and Internet , click network and sharing Center , click manage wireless networks on the left.

In the list select the wireless network and do a right click, select Properties, Security disable tab all options that is, in security type do not select no authentication (Open) and to the type of encryption , select none . You can also activate the automatic connection and SSID settings to further enhance connectivity, on the connection tab, click to select the "connect automatically if this network is in range " and "check boxesto connect even if the network is broadcasting his name (SSID) .

For more information click here and see how you can determine whether a network is secure or not.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/how-do-I-know-if-a-wireless-network-is-secure

If the problem still persists, then check your firewall settings and make sure that the firewall is not blocking your Internet connection. Some software Antivirus has a built-in firewall and they block by default all unknown connection to the tightening of security.

Try to restore Windows Firewall default settings. Open Control Panel click on network and Internet , click system and security , click Windows Firewall , click default settings .

Hope this will help. Thank you.

  • Problems connecting to a Satellite Pro 4600 for network wireless home

    Hello
My computer has a processor Athlon 64 x 2 4200 + and 2 GB of RAM, with XP2 Pro. I have a Linksys WRT54GS broadband router and connected with Virgin Media.

My daughter gave me an old laptop a Satellite Pro 4600 with a 747 MHz Celeron processor, 384 MB of RAM and XP2 Pro has an Intel Pro/100 VE Network adapter. I set up a Linksys Wireless - G Notebook Adapter with SRX (model No. WPC45GX), so that I could use around the House. However when I try to connect to the home network, although he "finds" a list of networks, I am unable to connect and get an error message - "Windows cannot connect to the selected network (my home network). The network can be is no longer in range. Please refresh the list of available
    networks and try again. »

I tried to connect with laptop computer in the same room as the router, but get the same message. In the Manager of peripheral devices, network cards, the two are shown and both work properly, but in the taskbar there is a red cross shown on the two icons, they say that a network cable is unplugged, but I don't have a cable network.
The other tells me that the wireless is not connected.

I presume that the adapter works as it can 'see' wireless networks, I used Lynksys support to verify that all router and adapter settings are correct.
My wife has a new laptop and is able to connect to the home network with no problems.

Please can someone offer advice or assistance.

for some reason, you need to turn off your wired connection (cable) and use the client of the PCMCIA wireless network card. Maybe just the problem that your system can not separate the two network connections and gets an error it s. You should also visit the site Web of Linksys and download the latest driver and the customer for the card, so you can make sure that the software is up to date.

Another good idea would be to visit www.microsoft.com and the support center for any 'knowledge base documents' which could probably solve the problem.
As your machine is really old and no one is using PCMCIA cards more, you may wait a long time for an answer in this forum. Maybe you should check the site from linksys for a support section. Maybe they could help you...

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry "BOLD" - problem connecting Wi Fi "unable to associate the network."

    Hello

I am trying to configure my Blackberry "BOLD" new, I am new to the platform - from an iPhone.

Unfortunately, I have problems to connect to my home wireless network. I tried two routers, the first being a pre-configured Tiscali (WPA encryption) and the second a Netgear mine. With the Netgear I tried to connect the Blackberry without security at all and the WEP. The Blackberry scans and detects my network, but is then unable to connect each time. Simply, I get the following message on the phone:

Unable to connect 'Impossible to associate the network '.

It really spoil things for me, because it is important that I can connect to the wi fi network. I had no problem before by connecting the iPhone, Nokia or Windows Mobile devices.

    Thank you in advance,

    Wendy.

You will need to remove your battery, wait a few seconds and then put the battery in.  You'll notice that whenever your blackberry starts acting weird, remove the battery usually solves the problem. Turn off the phone, is a bit like putting your computer into sleep mode more.  Take out the battery if want to make a stop, cold-start of a computer.
