  Hi, I recently bought a new Hitachi 1 TB internal hard drive. I wanted to do a clean install on the new drive (d), be able to dual boot my computer and leave my old 300 GB disk (C :) as the primary windows installation. After physically installing the new HARD drive, I noticed that "new hardware found" and the the brand name flashed in the bottom right corner. I thought I'd see the new hard drive in my computer, but I did not. I initialized the new HARD drive with the computer management window (right click on my computer - manage) and I also formatted in NTFS (I had to change my printer hard drive letter to assign the new HARD drive with the letter D, but I've made other changes after this step). Now, I could see and use in my main windows on the C: installation. I then installed a windows new copy XP pro with the installation CD I got for my C: but on the D: (Note: I have a Dell computer (and the Dell reinstallation CD) and my current version of windows has SP3 while the installation CD is only SP2) (I also reformatted my HARD drive during the installation of windows to NTFS)

  Now when I try to start on installing the new on my D: I get "Windows did not start because of a configuration of the disk of the computer problem. Could not read the selected boot disk. Check startup disk and hardware access path. "and another line saying to refer to manuals HARD drive and windows.

  My Boot.ini file at this time was:

  I tried to use the bootcfg /rebuild but the line to boot.ini for my secondary HARD drive still does not work.

  I also tried to use expand F(dvd-drive):\i386\ntkrnlmp(I_have_a_duo-core).ex_ D:\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe and a few other combinations, but I when I login as D:\windows simply, it fails to extend with a message like "could not develop" or C:\windows I get "restricted access".

  I have not yet tried CHKDSK/r, but since I did a clean install on a newly formatted drive... I don't think it would work.

  I've also marked the partition on the D: as active (in computer management), but it did not help me.

  I've done a first installation of windows repair, strangely, I couldn't fix this one... Still does not work...

  My default windows installation yet works very well & I see that windows has been installed on the D: but I'm ideas from how to operate the dual-boot, can someone throw me a BONE on what to do?

  Maybe try to do something with the Boot Manager (whatever it is?) Create a new partition and use it as a boot manager? I don't really want to do this, because if I made a mistake I will be unable to use my computer and dual boot should work without going through all this trouble...   Edit: I also noted that I can't see my new HARD drive in my BIOS... weird... SATA-0 is my old drive HARD 1 and 2 are my dvd 3-5 readers are 'off' and it doesn't seem to be anything that it is plugged in. I also have 4 bays for internal HARD disks. Now, 2 are busy.

  Edit2: I looked inside my case and enabled the good Sata in the Bios after a reboot it detected the drive correctly. Dual boot doesn't always work well... The fact that it was disable in the BIOS while I was installing the new HARD drive could change anything? Hmm...

  In case I wasn't clear enough: I had a windows XP Pro installed on my C:, bought a new hard drive and installed the same copy of windows on it (d). I think that should allow me to double boot between the two installs different. Even if for some reason I can't boot from one on my D:. Andrew, I do not understand why you so far physically disconnect the other drive, the point of the whole operation is to build a boot.ini file so that the BIOS knows that it y facilities 2 windows and you allow to choose (and not have conflicting problems between the 2 systems), someone correct me if I'm wrong?   Andrew "also, once a new hd is plugged on the pc & running, most of the BIOS will place (them) as 1st priority hd, set the BIOS to do this", you mean that by installing separately from windows on each unit when the other is not plugged in, I could choose what disk to start from defining their priority in the BIOS once they are all plugged back? It's too tedious (as I intend to move frequently between the 2 installs) and requires a computer to other users of the lack of computer knowledge. Unfortunately, it is not a viable option.

  EDIT: I DID IT! Hmmm... Well, I double checked in the recovery console, the path of the new HARD drive with the arc command Scan. Tried to start again with the MULTI (0) in my boot.ini and it worked... I also had my windows install CD in. Maybe that is why I could not start, windows needs the CD to complete the installation? Weird, I don't know what I did to the difficulty it... but hey, it works! Thanks for your ideas guys!

  When you reinstall CS5, you start to 12.0 there's a 12.0.4 update that includes bug fixes.

  You need to directly download this update and before you install, go into osx security & privacy > general tab and temporarily allow app installs anywhere.

  I got a selection list filter that has three values null, Y and n. based on what the user selects a tabular presentation is filled with data that also has a list of selection.
  
  Now, earlier, I had only two values Y and N in the selection filter, and according to the selected option list, select tabular list would be filled as well as other areas. Select the 'tabular forms' list for all lines are the same width. When I added the Null value option in, select the filter, now the tabular form displays all of the values, however, the selection list is of different sizes according to the length of the text.
  
  I put in the CSS Style of the selection list - width: 20px
  
  I also tried the option element width, but still no luck, when I select Y or N to the upper filter select, selection lists appear correctly with the same width.
  
  No idea what could happen?

  All functionality of another column using the column Standard report basically, means the "CSS" Style property is not applied (see, for example: {: identifier of the thread = 1001577}), then the attributes of the element, link attributes etc. should be used.

  Tabular controls, to use the standard approach of HTML attributes. Come in

  Assuming that I got those right, the answer is not much sense yet.  Take a deep breath, take your time and use simple language with common punctuation.  Type slowly.  Your hands are going faster than your mind and makes it hard to follow.  Don't make things worse by getting over excited.  ;-)

  What I tell you (based on the original post and now this response), this is your best course of action with your horribly hacked and infected system should all erase and start over - disconnecting the network while you do this to your computer.  If you have a USB and there are some select files/folders you want to have no EXECUTABLE in them - copy those turned off.

  You should probably reset each password you have for each account that you have as well – each of them.  Anywhere - Internet, etc.

  You may want to also likely reset everything router you might have that connect you to the Internet if there is a custom configuration - as they have probably your router pirate as well - giving them a back door at least in your network.

  What you have presented I can assume only you have been scammed.  They have probably used something like VNC or TeamViewer and your willingness to participate to take complete control of everything you have on your computer and possibly connected to your network.

  If it is a business network - disconnect your computer it immediately and contact your it Department and let them know what you think.

  Try using the brush included in the CD or download. The OCR software is included in the full feature software and driver in the links below.

  Of the Original installation CD:

  1. Insert the CD in the drive and then cancel Setup

  2. open my computer and click right then on the CD from the drive and select open

  3 open the Util folder

  4 open the CCC folder

  5. If you have an HP computer, run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a computer not HP, run the L4uninstall.exe

  6. once the uninstall is complete, restart the computer

  7. click on the link to download the latest full features software and drivers for the Deskjet F2180

• All records have selected read-only option, and I am unable to remove it.

  I have recently reinstalled Windows 7, without touching the drive was in my data. All data is intact, but for all delete them and move the action, it seems to be asking permission from the Admin. • Problems printing on all Adobe applications

  I work in a design studio and we had persistent problems with printing - and we have assumed that the problem was with our printer. We get washed out color, lack of definition and detail and the garish colors that do not resemble the image on the screen. Here is a part of print - it's a crowd at a conference.

  

  It's just a picture of a print from my iPhone, but I hope you can see where it is strange, faded 'gaps' in the shadow. We have three designers, and we all experience exactly the same kind of printing problems. During this inquiry, my colleague has printed the same preview image and look what happened.

  

  All the details and colors restored. And we were able to print with the word precision too. If the problem was with Adobe throughout, but since these are the only applications that we print, we had not realised. (Photoshop and acrobat print just as bad.)

  I went through the long impression here troubleshooting guide, and I also used all the different settings I see print. The partial solution only I found is: print > output > color:- and change the setting from "Test CMYK" to "Composite RGB. This allows to slightly improve the quality of printing, but still nowhere near as good as preview or Word. (I'm also wary about the use of this parameter because it is probably not the correct setting to use!)

  CMYK profiles are all specific to the device. RGB to export allows to work without knowing the conditions of exit in advance, or re-purpose to different output devices, without renouncing any color quality unnecessarily. If you feel that you must work in CMYK mode, then you MUST know the correct output profile before you start, and I recommend to assign this same profile the profile of work document (this in the Edit menu), that are not necessarily the same profile selected in the color settings.

  I have not worked with a printer who wanted native files over the years. Industry standard was PDF for more than ten years in the United States, although I'm sure there are other parts of the world who are not also updated. They would reject a file with RGB images makes me think that they have no idea how to do to really work with InDesign, or that they do not want to take responsibility for their own lack of understanding of color management so that they can say the ' color we printed is the color that you have submitted "that should no longer be taken care for you in a color managed workflow.

  I work almost exclusively for printing, including the occasional color-critical Museum catalog, and I have not used anything other than InDesign make layout since about 2002 when version 2.0 was released. Printers that I use include color management, provide output profiles, and my monitors are calibrated. The prints are evidence of contract, which corresponds to what I see on my screen as close as technology allows.

• Tracker 3D camera problems (the track points are not selectable)

  When I apply the 3D camera tracker, analyzes and solves beautifully, but I can't select any of the track points.  No bubble.

  I can add a camera, but no other features.

  I've exhausted all the tutorials and FAQ, and I'm pretty informed about this process.  I used it on this machine in the past, but now it does not work.

  I did some updates on the road (more RAM, SSD drive) and added a few new plugins and scripts, but it's been a while since I was a camera solve so I can't say when these things would be to correlate, if in fact they would.

  I tried the same scenes on a different machine and it worked perfectly, there seems to be a problem with my machine.

  I wonder if it is a GPU issue?  Can any plug-ins or scripts cause a conflict (I no longer believe, but...?)?

  Are there any known issues?

• InDesign CS4, CS5.1, CS5.5 all the crash when saving files

  One of our users has an accident trying to save files in InDesign.  It has OS X 10.7.  This happens in the CS4, 5.1 and 5.5 versions - all three versions, he has installed on his computer.  We ran finagler fonts which has solved problems for us before, but it has not solved the problem.  We have also reset the preferences in each version using the keyboard shortcut.  It doesn't work any more.

  Looking at your crash report, suitcase does not seem to be involved.

  Instead, your accident is in this odd plugin:

  I guess that's the North Plains telescope DAM system? Shame on them! They are not allowed to name their plugin 'com.adobe.anything' if they are not Adobe!

  In any case, try to remove the plugin. Assuming that suits it, contact them.

• Problems to use the cursor to select the format of pdf text precisely

  When you try to select a bit of text that is in a text (as opposed to a text box) on a form object, the cursor highlights several other items of text on the page.

  I'll try to reproduce it below:

  It is just the nature of the documents in pdf format, or is this something that can be avoided.

  I made sure to give each its own name text object, but the problem persists.

  Let's say that I tried to highlight all the end of this sentence.

  Note that the other texts are selected as well.  This would happen in a form when I would try to select only the text: "the end of this sentence."

  Its not impossible to select the text I want in acrobat, but it seems to be very sensitive on the forms. Just to have the cursor slightly outside the central axis of the text, and half of the shape is selected.

  Is it possible to make it more like the text in a text field?
