Problems of displacement, deletion, renaming of files in Vista Home premium with Service Pack 2

Since SP2 was installed I had travel problems, copy, delete and rename files.  When I do all this the appropriate box opens, but it will remain open and the computer will not respond.  The only way to solve the problem is to use the Task Manager to end the task.

I'm running a processor 2.33 GHZ of intel with 23 GB of ram and a 500 GB with 310 GB of free disc.

I see that others have the same problem as me, but there is no way to comment (that I can see) on the thread I've read.  After a lot of problems, I did a clean install of VISTA Home Premium (came with my Dell PC) and when I installed service pk2, all of the same problems that led me to do a clean install appeared.  I can't the computer to recognize and install the keyboard and the mouse of the blue tooth. (Don't tell me to contact the manufacturer, because they came w / the computer and say "Dell" on them!)  He told me that the enumerator does not work.  Then I launched Quicken, and when I tried to save a registry check for print, he gave me the msg "Quicken launcher has stopped working".  He was a key reason I did a clean install.  The only improvement is that I can at least open Quicken, which he would not let me do before.  How to uninstall service pack 2?

  • Unable to start boot corrupted files Windows Vista Home premium

Hello all recently I got my hands on an old Toshiba laptop Satellite I'm supposed to have attachment to a friend, however, she doesn't remember the password for the laptop so I searched for ways to circumvent the password and delete it however, I ran into a major problem, according to the wiki site , how you put in a family of Windows Vista installation disc premium, you select your country and all that say before you install is a repair of your computer, but I can't so I thought well maybe if I hit install that it will recognize that there are already Windows Vista on the computer however to my dismay that it did not so I canceled the installation but now the computer does not even boot into Vista at all he'll just do Startup Repair whenever whenever it starts "Windows loading files" I already tried several things the bootrec command using command prompt without success, I tried to restore the master boot record by using the command-line without success either, here are the details as seen from the Startup Repair tool: signature of the problem GREATER TOMBENT AUTO there is also one that says corrupt boot configuration data and who says fix partition table I look it up online that I mean who is the code which is the ID of locale 1033 I looked up the exact problem this forum and he said if there is the disconnect a USB connected the problem with that is there is no USB device connected. To clarify what I said earlier about wiki, how what I tried to do initially was put in the trunk of installation disk from the CD in the environment of the installation, then click on repair your computer so that I could use CMD to reset the password online, I have seen that you can change the keys to self-retaining pull up of CMD by modifying the ease of access button but I thought that it would be easier because I don't have to understand how to fix the ease of access button after I did. So now I am at a loss as to what I could do next to important things to note that this computer doesn't have system restore points stored on it so it is not an option if you do not understand something please let me know and thank you for your suggestions. PS I will try a disk check, now that I think of it.

Hello all I was able to restore the computer back in working order without password, I did however have download and burn a copy of Vista Home premium at my discretion. But I use the product key legally reactivate Windows Vista Home premium but I have to say that the search for the driver for this laptop has not been easy, especially the pilot Wi - Fi that I had to go

burn it to a disk, and then install the software in this way. I really don't know not how I got the display driver correct because I downloaded the driver two booster and then the next minute it was display driver just because I checked on the user manual on Toshiba.com and it was the correct an Intel 3000 graphics thank you all so much for your help and I hope this helps someone else :-)

  • Unable to restore files in Vista Home Premium

Don't know which forum it might be suitable for.  Cannot restore files backed up with the backup and restore on a new install of Vista.

Unfortunately, I did a system restore which did a factory reset (FAT fingers-involuntary). Was trying to solve a problem of driver.  The reset fixes this issue.

I did a backup of files using backup and restore to 3 days before, so I have a backup available.  The files are on a hdd external usb. I tried to restore using advanced restore "from another computer.   I made a first return to the top on the reinstalled Vista and now I have 2 backups on the hard drive. When I try to restore old save I get 'incorrect parameter (0 x 80070057)' ' the location is correct and try again.   Its on the same drive as the new backup. The new back-up works fine as I tried restoring file as a test.

I went to the folder properties to ensure that the system and the users have full control for the hard drive and all files. When I open them back up, files have full control, but the single play button is shaded. Don't know if this is linked from the new folder is similar.

I took the hard drive to another laptop under Vista (SP1) and have the same problem when you try to restore "from another computer.

I have looked through the forums and see nothing similar, although I've seen some that are close on the web - with no solutions.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you
    Nathan

  • Locked PDF files. Vista Home

I can't open the PDF files. I installed adobe reader 9. I have norton antivirus 360. I can open saved files, but cannot open internet sites. Now I'm unable to download them as well. All ideas

    Hi stevejoneschris

    ·          You are able to download other files?

    ·          This problem occurs with only Adobe files?

    ·          What was the error that you received when you tried to download?

    Try the following steps:

Step 1: Configure the browser to open PDF files in the browser window

When you install Acrobat or Adobe Reader on a system that includes a browser, you automatically configure the browser to open PDF files in the browser window. Acrobat and Adobe Reader install the ActiveX plugin files allow you to use Internet Explorer to open PDF files. If an application is installed, but do not open the PDF files in the browser window, work through the following steps to configure the browser:

    1. make sure that the system meets the requirements for the product that you use Acrobat: Acrobat may not work correctly if the system does not meet the following requirements:

    -Intel Pentium processor

-Microsoft Windows XP Professional or home edition with Service Pack 1 or 2, or Tablet PC Edition, or Windows 2000 with Service Pack 2

-128 MB of RAM (256 MB recommended)

-460 (Professional) or 360 MB (Standard) of available disk space; Optional installation files cache (recommended) requires 300 MB of additional free disk space.

    -1024 x 768 (Professional) or 800 x 600 screen resolution (Standard)

-Drive, if installing from a CD

-Internet Explorer 5.5 or later version

2 make sure that the ActiveX folder contains the files required for web browsing: to open PDF files in a browser window, the ActiveX folder should contain the following files: Acropdf.dll; AcroIEHelper.dll; Gbdetect.dll; and Pdfshell.dll. If one of these files is missing, repair Acrobat or Adobe Reader by selecting help > detect and repair, or reinstall the application. You can find the Active X file in Program Files/Adobe/Acrobat 7.0

3 use a supported browser version: make sure that you use a browser support Acrobat and Adobe Reader, such as Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher.

4 restart Windows after you install Acrobat or Adobe Reader to update the Windows registry: to make sure that the Windows registry provides the information of your web browser should display PDF files, restart Windows. If the Windows registry is not updated after the installation of Acrobat, the web browser can not find the references it needs to access the PDF files on the web.

5 remove earlier versions of Acrobat or Adobe Reader: if you have an older version of Acrobat or Adobe Reader is installed on the system, remove it using the Add / Remove programs in Windows.

6 repair Acrobat: if you use Acrobat, repair or replace the damaged or missing files by using the detect and repair feature or the dialog box add or remove programs.

    To repair Acrobat:

    1. choose Start > Control Panel.

    2. double-click on add or remove programs.

    3. Select Acrobat, then click on modify.

    4. follow the on-screen instructions to repair the Acrobat.

7 reinstall Acrobat or Adobe Reader.

Step 2: Configure the browser to open PDF files in Acrobat window

If you want the browser to open PDFs in a separate Acrobat window, to set the browser to use Acrobat or Adobe Reader as a helper application. Then, when you select a PDF file in Internet Explorer, the browser opens the PDF file in an Acrobat window instead of the browser window.

To configure the browser to use Acrobat or Adobe Reader to open PDF files:

    1. exit Internet Explorer.

    2. launch Acrobat or Adobe Reader.

    3 Choose Edition > Preferences.

    4. Select Internet in the list on the left.

5 disable the display option IN the browser, and then click OK.

    6. restart Internet Explorer.

Note: The next time you select a link to a file PDF, the browser may ask you to open or save the file. If you choose to open the file, the browser opens the file in the support application that you specified. If you choose to save the file, the browser downloads the file to the hard drive.

Step 3: Download of a PDF file on your hard drive

You can download a PDF file on the hard drive of a web page link. Download of PDF files does not require the ActiveX plug-in file must be installed. (If you want to open and view the PDF file after you download it, you must have Adobe Reader installed).

To download a PDF file from a link:

    1. right click on the link to a PDF file, then choose Save target as on the shortcut menu.

    2. in the Save dialog box under, select a location on your hard drive, and then click Save.

  • Problems of 64-bit Vista Home Premium, Ultimate upgrade

I recently bought a laptop HP Pavilion dv4-1144us with 64-bit Windows Vista Home Premium (with SP1) pre-installed electronics Fry as well as a copy of the upgrade to Windows Vista Ultimate Edition (with SP1) because I need to the ability to connect to a domain when using the laptop at work.  After installing Office 2007 Standard and by ensuring that the new Windows Vista laptop basically work, I tried to run the installation from the Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit Upgrade disk and found that, after an hour or two of an upgrade treat it to race end in a non-descript "cannot upgrade one or more components.  Error Windows will restart and cancel the upgrade. ", after which he ends by turn to Vista Home Premium.

After doing a little research online (on TechArena) and I have re-tried the upgrade again after:

In Control Panel-> programs and features:

    -Deactivation of Microsoft.NET Framework 3.0

    -Disable remote differential Compression

-Deactivation of the replication DFS Windows Service

Disable Norton Virus and Internet Security software pre-installed

Disable the Windows Firewall and defender.

    Uninstalling Quicktime and AIM.

Disconnect all other devices to a USB mouse.

However when "Compatibility Check" of the upgrade at the beginning, he warn a problem with a filter 'keyboard '.

(no further details) which I think can refer to the HP software that implement quick launch the laptop keys.

So I downloaded and installed the latest version of the HP Quick Launch Button drivers on the HP Support page:

    ' HP Quick Launch buttons Date: 08/2008 Version: 6.40.8.2 H size: 20.97 M

and I tried again, but still without success.

Note: I can not run the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor, as recommended because it does not work on Vista 64 bit.

However, there are standard HP and Microsoft Vista + Office + MessengerLive software installed only at this stage.

Are there additional clues on what to try next?  Has anyone experience this problem?

    -Greg

You can try to uninstall the filter on the keyboard until the upgrade is complete...  In Device Manager, go to 'View' and select 'show hidden devices and then go down to "Non-Plug and Play drivers" and made a right click on the keyboard/HID filter drivers and uninstall (remove also the softare upon request).

  • update of Windows vista home premium w/sp2 kb978207 IE8 for vista security update problems

System: vista home premium w/serv pack 2
    Antivirus: Avira
other notable programs: itunes, roxio creator media, Skype, messenger, yh, IE8, msn messenger

I tried several times to install IE8 KB978207 update without success. The last time I tried it, he first gave me an error code of 8024200d, then I reinstalled it. I finally understood by installing the updates one at a time which caused my laptop to not be able to run the start afterreboot after you install updates. I end up having to run the diagnostic tool for starting and when it finishes, I check the error log and it tells me that the reason that she didn't was due to a patch, then using the advanced features to restore my system before installing KB978207.

  • How to delete/rename/move files in CS3 contribute

    Hello

I'm a total Newb in Contribute. And I have a few questions:
    1. how to delete/rename/move files or directories in CS3 contribute
is 2 - there a solution to edit pages with Iframes?

Thanks a lot for your help
    Victor

To manage files and search the files to change/remove outside the range of navigation and links from your Web site, check out the 'Choose' button on the right side of the address bar. In this way, you can also find loaded files in your I-frames.

To delete files, you must have the proper rights (Edit, administer Web sites) to be allowed to delete files. The process of deleting is:
    1. open the file ('Choose' button)
    2. go in: file, share, Delete page

  • I have problems keeping records and files of the administrator and the user separate in my laptop (HP Pavilion dv6700) under Windows Vista Home Premium.

I have problems separating records and files of the administrator and the user. My computer is a laptop (HP Pavilion dv6700), used as a home computer only by myself, I like to keep the two distinct roles, but am unable to as Vista seems to be considered as one and the same. This scenario has arisen as follows:

Initially, when I bought the laptop - approx. 18 months back - Windows Vista Home Premium was preinstalled, with the name 'Administrator' as an administrator. To customize the operating system and to use safely, I installed a user 'Renault', as a Standard account user.

After awhile, I changed the name of the Director of "Renault", for reasons I have can not remember now. This caused Vista to combine folders and files of the two "users" in one, I found difficult to deal with, that I could not operate my laptop as just a Standard user, but is still considered the "administrator." On the one hand, this greatly increased spam in my email accounts. So I tried to reset the name of the administrator as 'Administrator' itself and keep my user name as "Renault", as originally the case.  But Vista me has failed to create a new user under the name "Administrator". So I created a new user under the name "System administrator", with administrative privileges. This has been accepted by Vista.

But I forgot to change the user account for 'Renault', on the Standard account, so there was BOTH administrator accounts at the same time on my laptop! I realized that now only. The net result was that all the files that I created under the system administrator user were still being displayed under the user account of Renault. A few days back, I realized this and tried to separate the files correctly, but it has not been possible. No matter what I copied the account of the user in the files under the system administrator account, the files have been copied on account of the user himself.

I tried to fix this by changing the name of the user account in something very different, AND as a Standard user. but this also does not work, as all folders and files under the administrator account system shows it as being under the user account of "Renault" only!

Then, I deleted the user 'Renault' from the list of the user, but he was not yet of any help. Whenever I tried to create a new file under the system administrator, Vista responds with the message, "C:\user\Rajaram folder is not present. Will I create a new? ", which defeat the same purpose of my tent to isolate the administrator account and the user account.

SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE WITH A SOLUTION, - OTHER THAN REFORMATTING MY C:\ DISK AND REINSTALL VISTA AGAIN - TO GET OUT OF THIS MESS, IT SEEMS TO ME YOU HAVE CREATED AND HELP ME TO HAVE AN ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT AND OTHER UNIQUE STANDARD USER ACCOUNTS PROPERLY ISOLATED.

I would be always grateful for a quick and helpful response.
    Thanks in advance.

    -RAJARAM77

Thanks for your reply. It was very helpful / sorry your proposed solution has not solved my problem. Kind regards. -Rajaram77

Better to delete the user account except the one that was built in the administrator account that you renamed. Before this backup all your data files of these user accounts.
Then rename the buil into account administrator as 'administrator '. Then you create another administrator account and use it and never the user built in Administrator account and leave it alone.

  • Problems with windows update, run sfc/scannow and boot into safe mode. (Vista Home Premium)

    Hi all

Please bear with me here that I try to explain all the questions I have with my computer right now. I'll try to explain everything that self-organization as possible, but if you need more information or file papers to provide a solution more precise, do it me know.

To start, I use a HP Pavilion dv6000 series (dv6748us to be exact) with Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit) installed. (Service pack 2). About 6 months ago I got this laptop from what I believe was the conflicker virus (kept forwarding pages, arrested updates and antivirus programs, etc.) and I managed to get Windows Update works again. My help and Support did not work well, it only worked in Mode without failure, so I did some research and tried a bunch of suggested corrections (update the registry, etc.) and got it work yet once again. I don't know if one of the tools that I used all by setting the Help & Support could have caused problems that I now (as I literally tried everything under the Sun until I got to work), but my Windows Update does not work properly again.

A few weeks ago, I installed some updates and restarted the computer, but updates did not finish install on reboot. He said the usual "Configuring Updates, do not turn off your computer", but never showed percentage complete or whatever it is. It restarted, and when I open Windows Update, he said the last time I checked the updates has never been (obviously not true), and when I tried to check the updates, it jumped right to the message telling me I have to restart my computer to complete the installation of updates. She continues to do everytime I open Windows Update. From time to time, I try to restart it, just to see if it will work, and he never does.

I spent hours trying all the solutions I could find in Google. I tried to run system update readiness tool, which seemed to run correctly (but does not solve the problem). I then tried the difficulty it for Windows Update, and it does not solve the problem. (It might be important for me to mention that I also have problems with the difficulty It Center itself, too. Individual tools like that for Windows Update is running, but the difficulty It Center program keeps giving me the error message that "a problem is preventing the troubleshooting tool to start.") I also tried to rename the pending.xml file, and then later I deleted it, after reading in another forum that you rename the file could cause system instabillity or something like that.

Unfortunately, I can't use system restore to solve all my problems, because all my previous restore points have disappeared (I don't know if the virus wiped out them, or if the computer removed on its own) but restore points only I checked are those that have been created recently, during the time I had these problems.

I tried running sfc/scannow nothing helped, as he continues to tell me that there is a pending repair, but repair pending never ends. I tried to use the command of /revertpendingactions of dism.exe/image:C\/cleanup-image in the command prompt of recovery center to stop it pending repairs, and that has not worked because it claims that dism.exe that does not exist / is not a valid command. No matter what I try, I can't have this pending repair or my updates to complete pending.

I tried to boot mode safe several times as well and he hung up on crcdisk.sys when starting every time.

Being that I can't use sfc/scannow, System Restore, or get into Safe Mode, I'm really lost as to what I should do next. I'm honestly not sure if the problems are related, but I just thought it would make sense to list them all in one place.

Please note that I don't want to re - install Windows Vista, or don't I think I need, because the computer works very well for most. (I use it for typing this right now). I had much rather bring all the features on mine, which I believe can be achieved with the help of the right person.

If someone could provide me with suggestions/solutions, it would be greatly appreciated! Certainly, it would relieve a lot of stress for me!
