Problems of Tungsten E2 hotsunc

A week ago I tried to hotsync but I got the message: "" system mgr.c, line: 4038, launch application error "."

I could have read the Forum, the solution would be to do a hard reset. (The soft reset did not).

So I did and next to this, I deleted the entire program of the Palm of my PC (Windows XP-Edition home edition).

I installed the program the installation CD and again tried to sync again.

I don't get the first more but when the synchronization error message, I get a new message:

"Hotsync operation interrupted. Some of your data was NOT saved. Out of storage space throughout updated calculator database - abandonment sync".

I tried this procedure over and over again, but I still get the same problem.

Help, please.

Thank you.

Here are the instructions for XP to uninstall "own."

You should first make a copy of your data to have just in case something
is happening. You can find your data files by going to C:\Program Files\Palm or
A Palm. Highlight your Palm Desktop user name and right click and copy.
Then, go to the desktop of your PC, right-click on a blank spot block and select.

Now you want to uninstall Palm Desktop and remove anything that has to do
with Palm Desktop on your computer. As the folder above, remove the Palm folder. Once this is done, you need to delete some registry keys

  • Problems with Tungsten E2

    Hello

He started as a synchronization problem between my existing E2 once I got a new computer with Windows 7. I finally got the synchronization to a point where I was able to sync everything with the exception of the Agenda (also called a calendar on my old E2). I was wondering if this terminology might not be the problem, but right now that seems to be a moot point.

My last attempt to synchronize immediately got me to box 1 - sync froze all trying to identify the user and cancellation of the operation required a soft reset of the E2. Trying to find why the operation does not identify me as a user, I tried all sorts of things. Well, I've tried too many... I think that the very last function under 'Préférences' is something like MSM (?) Whatever it is, I allowed, and since then, I get what I call the Palm equivalent of the 'Blue Screen of Death'. A soft reset back the Palm Power screen, then the second screen... and BSOD!

I really, really want to do a hard reset because I do not have the calendar saved on my new computer. Any suggestions?

I have a positive thing right now... I still have my old computer (Windows XP) that should have the backup operation of 10 days ago. Info will be lost, but 10 days can be rebuilt. I would need to be able to find where this information is stored and how I would go all transfer to the new computer.

  • Sync problem with Palm Tungsten E2 & PC - Fatal Error Message on the screen of the PDA

Recently my Palm Tungsten E2 will not synchronize with my PC. The following message appears on the screen of my handheld Palm when it tries to sync: "Fatal Error. ' Mgr.c, Line System: 4038, error launching Application. And a "reset" icon under the message that when activated, cause my PDA to reset through the sequence of the display date/time, etc. My PC system is Windows XP Professional. I recently updated my program to sync Palm from 4.2 to 6.2, which does not fix the problem I have. Your suggestions please?

For this type of error, you need to reset hard E2. I hope that you have all your data in Palm Desktop. After the hard reset, change the desktop hotsync conduits replaces handheld and synchronize.

Click on the following link for the Web page of kb.hpwebos.com for the article about reset procedures

    http://KB.hpwebos.com/wps/portal/KB2/common/article/887_en.html

You can export your data for backup purposes, first in case something happens during synchronization.

The best way to protect your data is to export the data in each category of Palm Desktop in a separate folder on your PC.

Create a new folder on your PC somewhere that suits. Name it something like Palm Desktop data. Click on the link below and follow the instructions on this page for the export procedure.

    http://KB.hpwebos.com/wps/portal/KB2/common/article/28734_en.html
Make sure you only select everything for the beach in the export window.

With the data stored in the created folder, make a copy of this file and save it on a USB key, cd - rw or external hard drive.

Whenever you change in Palm Desktop, export the data that has been changed in this file and save again to external media.

With this process you can always import the data in Palm Desktop, whenever you have a problem with the data in Palm Desktop, or if your computer/hard drive/device crash.

For reference purposes, click the following link to the support page for your device on the kb.hpwebos.com Web page.

  • Problems with hotsynching my Tungsten E2 with Windows 7

My husband just bought me a labtop and I also have a Palm Tungsten E2.  Here's my problem: my palm don't HotSync and I have years of information on it.  So after weeks of coming to accept the fact that my palm does not work with my new laptop which has Windows 7 (I love my phone and I love my Palm) I decided to attempt more HotSync and obviously it didin't work.  So now that I reluctantly accepted that my palm and the new laptop are not good for them, I am ready to go with another plan of action.  So, does anyone know if there is another computer on Pocket (probably not a Palm product) which is compartive hand held Palm that will work with windows 7? As well as in a way that I can get all my info transferred from the Palm on the new product (whatever it is)?  I would really appreciate any help that anyone can give.    I'm looping at the moment, because I rely on my Palm.  I don't like that people say, it cannot be an up-to-date product, but he did wonders for me to help me keep my schedule together.  I'd really rather NOT go back to the paper version of Franklin Covey, which is where I started.  For those who know the Franklin Covey, is wonderful, but it's on paper.  I don't want to go back to the paper.  Too much stuff to carry and the Palm is so much easier >!

I presume that you have run the troubleshooting tips to: http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/na/tungsten/e2/unlocked/solutions/article/2630_en.html

And the software downloaded and installed the latest:

State of Palm, 64-bit versions of Windows 7 and Vista will synchronize not via USB so they suggest BlueTooth.  Since you have a new laptop, done with BlueTooth?  (If not, we can always blame your husband for getting the bad!).  It is a solution, you can buy a BlueTooth dongle for not a lot of $s:

Most of them simply plug into a USB port, so there is no duty open Notepad.

  • Software of third party for Tungsten E2 problems

I got a Palm Tungsten E2 for Christmas, and so far I'm in love. However, I had some problems to download software for this. I wish I could put games on it, and still nothing I have tried so far has worked. I couldn't even Solitaire that came with the Palm on a CD to download. I have Windows Vista, so I don't have access to the quick installation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For a specific example, I would like to have this on my Palm: http://pocketciv.radioxy.com/

    Thank you!

Which version of Vista you have on your computer?  If it is the 64-bit version, you cannot use the USB HotSync cable.  Palm wrote no drivers for USB/Vista64.

If you have the 32-bit version, you can have the best results with Palm Desktop 6.2.2 for Vista.  Download it here:

  • Disabling Palm Tungsten E2 problems

My 3 year old Palm Tungsten worked perfectly until yesterday. It is password protected and set to Auto Lock on power off. The power is set to turn off after 3 minutes. The problem is that if turned off manually it turns on automatically after 10 seconds. (password function intact) and only turns off automatically after 3 minutes. Change the automatic time setting makes no difference to the problem. The problem occurred after a HotSync, but this may have been a coincidence. I can find a number of postings on problems with "light", but none with power off! Can anyone help?

    Thank you.

Search for any appointments or tasks that are stretching from the end of December in the new year, especially with a reminder that overlap 12/31 - 1/01.

Delete the appointment and see if the problem goes away.

  • problems with my Tungsten E2 Palm reading is not my memory card more

I have a Palm Tungsten E2 and I now have problems with him reading the memory cards and I don't understand why because it was very good.  I didn't give up, nothing happened.

I have a 1 GB memory card that I use.  It's a SD Impact memory card

When I insert card it makes no noise and if I try to format the card it says No card inserted.

I also tried a new card, it's a 2 GB Sandisk card (did not know at the time that it would use only a 1 GB card).

Hope that was enough information for you help out me.

My only other suggestion right now would be to try another 1gig or smaller card to determine if the card is at fault.

I had 100% success with SanDisk cards.

  • Tungsten E2 - Vista - problems of funds. New Palm and Desktop?

Just moved to a new computer with Vista professional. Discover issues with Palm Desktop 4. Have a Tungsten E2. I'm NOT happy with version 6 of the Office!

I can run the worm old office 4 on the virtual disk in vmware on vista, but wonder how to synchronize?

Or... there at - it a new pda palm on the market that works with Vista and have an office that has more features than version 6? (Oh and also accept the years of files from old palm desktop?)

I am disgusted that I face this in 2009. Reminds me of how I used to have to do things with windows in 1995.

Only, I have solved my problem. I found a good third palm (and vista) compatible desktop software. http://www.iambic.com/Agendus/winpded/default.asp

I loaded it in Vista and it has been able to pull in all the files of the Palm Desktop Ver 6 and even was able to find all the category tags that had been in ver 4 (but were not visible in ver 6). All this happened without any intervention on my part.

It is not free, but it is certainly useful to make my life easier.

I could not get a driver working between the Tungsten C and Vista, but I managed to synchronize

  • Problem of sync Tungsten E2 to the exchange of data of the order of the day

    Hi guys,.

I am a pretty old used PALM devices, I have a Tungsten E2 that starting yesterday now not able to sync my PC more with any pf. I tried with Win 7, Win 8 using the Desktop 6.2 via Bluetooth using the HotSync Manager.

When I try to sync - upward, HotSync manager activity seems to be ok, the computer ask me the password I type and then the synchronization process starts, number of clicks green confirms the good performance of sync files syetm but when synchronization try to drive the agenda, he's missing, I mean that he doesn, t go more.

In my opinion, it seems that some data in your handheld pointer has changed and so that data from the agenda of the handheld to the PC is blocked. Unfortunately, I can't check with cable USB WIN 7 and 8 do not work with USB.

No idea how to fix this without losing my data?

    Thanks in advance

Hello and welcome to the HP support community!

PalmOS devices have been able to sync via a USB cable for Vista64, Win7 and now Win8 for quite a while now.  We have a post sticky implemented in the top few positions listed in this section:

    64-bit drivers HotSync

The data of the order of the day is updated on the computer in Palm Desktop?  Run the auditor of the Palm Desktop on Tools/Options/tools database to see if something needs to be repaired, then set the conduit Hotsync next to the order of the day on "Desktop replaces the handheld computer."

As usual, we recommend that you install NVBackup on an SD card before risking the loss of personal data.  It can be copied to the card, the card inserted in your Palm and a full backup made and saved in the card.  NVBackup can be found at www.freewarepalm.com.

Another suggestion would be to install DBFixit of Pimlicosoftware.com.  It is designed to fix data errors, some free, others require pay a registration fee that goes to a sanctuary for gorillas.

  • Problem of HotSync with Tungsten E

All of a sudden, when I touched the hot sync button on the spot which is held, I hear the "boink-boink" in the office, but then nothing happens.

Then I get the error message: "the connection between your computr handheld and the desktop could not be established.  Please check your game back upward.

I even went up to remove Palm desktop and then reloaded with the original disc.

    Help?

Well, there are two things that must be done in order for hotsync function properly

    1. your computer recognizes the device as a pocket with no problems at palm computer
2 Hotsync recognizes the device as being connected.

At least that number 1 is occurring without number 2 won't.

If you are familiar with your computer's Device Manager, run that... While you look at Device Manager try hotsync and see if it recognizes the unit correctly if he acknowledges incorrectly, you will see a yellow exclamation mark next to it.

If there is an exclamation point. Make a click right on it and it say to uninstall the drivers. Unplug your device, then perform a soft reset. Once the machine starts back again and try an another hotsync.
