problems to connect second monitor

I'm trying to hook up a second monitor. When I turn on the computer the second monitor reflects the first few seconds. As soon as I get to the Word window past the second monitor I am trying connect shuts off and I get a message "no signal".  I use windows vista.

I'm trying to connect a second monitor to my PC. My first monitor is connected via a HDMI cable to the back of the graphics card. I have connected my old monitor VGA slot VGA motherboard and tried everything but it constantly says "No Signal".

I tried 3 different VGA cables if it is not the cable...

    My motherboard is: ASUS P8H67-MLE

Graphics card: ASUS Direct CU II OC

    any ideas please.

    Gareth

    Solved the problem thanks.

Apparently, as I use a single graphics card stand it shuts down the connections on the motherboard. Therefore the ports on the mother of edge works not.

You had to buy a DVI cable and then connect from the port of the graphics card to the monitor. A monitor now works from the HDMI graphics card and the other DVI port.

Both monitors are working fine now.

  • Flag 23: connect second monitor

Is it possible that I can connect another monitor to my 23 pavilion desktop?  What would buy or download?

    Thank you in advance!

There is no external monitor port, but you can get a connection usb 2.0 or 3.0 (would need the full model number to know that you have) hdmi adapter and connect a second monitor. USB 2.0 adapters tend to be slow and aren't good, even for things like the youtube video but will endeavour to show documents and others. Adapters USB 3.0, on the other hand, do a good job of rendering video.

It will come with the necessary drivers and once installed correctly it will appear as a second screen that you can clone or extend the desktop.

  • Connection problem with the second monitor, macbook pro 2014, OSX El Capitan

There are a few threads describing problems with two monitors, but I have not found a match.

I like for the operating system ask login password once the lid is closed, no matter how much time has passed (even for a moment). Also, I work with a dual monitor. However, when my macbook is plugged into the monitor and I close the lid, the macbook don't disconnect but spends just primary monitors. Understand that this could be a feature and not a bug, I tried to unplug the monitor before closing the lid. But the OS seems not to realize that the monitor has been disconnected, and when I close the lid he didn't ask me for my password once that I reopen it. Does it also if I wait a bit (i.e. one minute) after disconnecting the monitor, but not if I wait a while (or 15 minutes), well that I've not enough highlighted how long is necessary so that it starts locking on my closing the lid. He does it with different monitors, so I doubt that it depends on the particular monitor. In both cases, I used the HDMI port.

This is quite annoying, because I need to be able to disconnect safely in a short period of time, and I was not able to find a workaround on mine. Everyone knows this? Thank you for any help or advice.

  • The second monitor connected to the Satellite Pro A100 "disconnect" himself

    Hello

I use my laptop - Satellite Pro A100 (PSAACE) - with a second monitor with no problems until I did an upgrade to Windows Vista. After installation, the second monitor starts to show problems, i.e. that works intermittedly. Every 5 seconds or so the monitor "unplug" itelf and caps again. I hear the (UN) plug sound when she did this and the two displays flickers during this period.

Can someone suggest a solution to this problem?

    Concerning

I put t know what can be the problem but it sounds like the connection problem. Make sure that the monitor is connected correctly. Also try to test it with another external monitor. Is perhaps the cable or connector defective.

  • NB200-10Z connection external monitor problems

    Hello

I tried to connect my NB200-10Z to my LCD TV using a VGA - DVI connector. Now, I have connected my DVI cable into the socket, then the TV.

For some reason any TV is not recognized by the netbook. I tried the FN + F5 key and it only shows the lcd - associated with the netbook screen.

I thought that maybe I need an update of the display driver, but it seems that I have the latest version (6.14.10.4926)

    Rebooted the system, no effect.

I used to have my other laptop connected to the TV before, so the problem must be with this netbook.

    Any idea?

    Enjoy your thoughts...

    See you soon,.

  • HP Pavilion a6750f: problem dual monitor (Second monitor not detected in DVI input)

Hello everyone, I'm going to by a problem of not being able to setp toward the top of my second monitor.

I own a HP Pavilion a6750f with an ATI Radeon HD 3200 card on board running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit operating system.  In the back, I have two VGA and DVI inputs, VGA works, but when I connect the other monitor which is connected to a DVI adapter on the back, Windows does not detect any.

I tried to go the DVI adapter to the other monitor and noticed that it refuses to work. I will note that my display drivers are all updated and I activated the option of customization to detect the second monitor, nothing shows up, it will not be the same acknolowdge that there are several screens.

I think it's weird that I don't see this problem being issued when I was searching for a resolution on google for hours now. If someone can help me here please I would be very happy.

Just to remind you try to connect a VGA (analog) monitor to a DVI - D (digital only) output on the computer. This is never going to work as analog and digital are two completely different incompatible signalling methods. With the help of an adapter DVI / VGA passive is the problem that these cards may work with DVI - I or DVI - A output... not DVI - D.

    Wikipedia - DVI;

"More digital, the DVI connector includes pins that carry an analog signal compatible with RGBHV signals in a VGA connector. This allows a VGA monitor be connected to a passive adapter and offers a universal solution for the DVI interface. The analog pins are the four that surround the apartment or cross the blade as shown on the right side of the diagrams below. »

    8 analog vertical sync

    C1 - analog Red
    C2 - analog Green
    C3 - blue analog
    C4 - analog horizontal sync
    C5 - analog ground

Note the absence of the pins on your computer and your so-called card C1, C2, C3 and C4. Without these pins is not just going to work. Still, there is no way to get an analog VGA monitor to work with your digital DVI - D only output using a so-called DVI - D to VGA. You may be able to buy an asset DVI - D to VGA Converter, but this will be expensive and cannot provide a poor video image quality.

As you said, the HP f1703 monitor supports only VGA. However, based on the specifications, your HP w2207h 22 inch LCD monitor supports the entry to a VGA and a HDMI input. HDMI and DVI - D share the same signage and using a HDMI-DVI cable or adapter HDMI-DVI and HDMI Cable will solve your problem. For two monitors running on your computer, please connect as follows:

Computer > HDMI-DVI cable or adapter HDMI-DVI and HDMI Cable > HP w2207h monitor

Computer > VGA cable > HP f1703 monitor

    Please send Bravo

  • Second monitor resolution problems

I have a Toshiba laptop (Windows Vista) and use my Samsung TV as a second monitor to play DVDs, iPlayer, etc.. Until recently it went well - when I connected the cable to my laptop, the laptop screen went black and the image appeared on television in the correct resolution. Recently, without apparent reason, when I connected to the TV, the resolution goes haywire. I've been playing with customization under display settings, but the right mode for television (1360 x 768) is no longer available. How can it be, when it used to be in the corresponding mode? I can't work out what to do to solve the problem. Help!

Follow my previous answer from this line:

"Resolution if your laptop 1280 x 800 and your TV's native resolution 1360 x 768, the system then controls resolution that both can function normally it is 1024 x 768, maybe it's what you see on your TV." You must set their resolutions of 1024 x 768, or only the laptop monitor would come ON. »

Maybe the Fn + F5 didn't work because they are defined in different resolutions. You must set their resolution to 1024 x 768.

  • Not able to connect the second monitor

Original title: Second monitor visible only on the first plugin

    Implementation:

    New (Nov 2014) Lenovo PC

    AMD A8 H535

    Windows 8.1

AMD Radeon HD D 7560 w / VGA output and an HDMI output

Two HP w1907 monitors (resolution is identical on both screens - when they work together)

    Question:

Last night I plugged my second monitor to the HDMI output with an HDMI adapter / VGA of the Amazon ( adapter ), plug the monitor into it has not come and via the control panel (I tried both via the control panel and some change PC settings) could not detect the second monitor. Then, I went to the HP website and downloaded the drivers, but to no avail. Then I reached down and unplugged the second monitor and resettled to make sure that there is a link, this solved the problem. The monitor came and no further investigation was necessary. However, this morning I woke up the computer to a single monitor and still unable to detect the second monitor. Only when I unplugged and re-inserted the link it works.

  • Connect a second monitor to the all-in-one desire

Please forgive my ignorance on this subject in advance.

I just bought a HP Envy all-in-One.  Model 23o014; Product F3E94AA #ABA.  I am running Windows 8.1.   I'm very happy with my purchase so far.

I also bought an AOC E2470Sw monitor and want to connect it as a second monitor to the all-in-One.

AOC monitor has a VGA (?-15-pin) connection), but also has two HDMI inputs.  I THOUGHT (with the agreement of my distracted salesman) that I could connect the two with a HDMI connector on both machines, but I get a blank on the AOC screen when I try.

    What I am doing wrong?

    Thank you

    Hello...

The HDMI connector on the base is an entry, not an output. For a second monitor, you will need to go with a USB to video card.

  • Connect a second monitor to ATI Radeon HD 5570

Hi, I just got my HP Pavillion Elite PHE-360z and it works great so far.  My question is that I have two monitors that I would use with the card.  The first monitor is hooked up okay using the DVI connection.  However, the card has also 2 other slots and I don't know what kind of cables go inside.  Looks like it is HDMI and don't know what the other is.  I have a simple cable VGA to my screen else I want to connect to this card, but do not know how to do it.  Any advice would be appreciated!

    Tim

This article should help you with the connection of two monitors.

Another your monitor handles other types of connection next to the VGA?

The video for the HPE-360z 5570 card has DVI, HDMI and Display Port.  You must also have a VGA to PC adapter.

A Display Port to VGAshould get the VGA signal to your second monitor.  I have not tried this type of adapter.
