Problems when turing on Window Vista

I have a problem with my laptop. Whenver I turn on my laptop, the screen turns white and it does not start. The screen deforms also a few times while she is still ongoing. I formatted the hard drive and also tried to reinstall windows, but the problem persists.

I have to restart my laptop several times until the computer works correctly. But then, I have the system does not recover.

Hi NDU.

Run the Startup Repair tool.  You may also try to check the integrity of your drive hard by running chkdsk/r.

Startup Repair

1. reboot your computer and press the F8 key until you reach the Advanced Startup Menu of Options.

2. Select fix your computer. This will take you to the System Recovery Optionsmenu.

3. Select the Startup Repair tool.

Chkdsk /r

1. reboot your computer and press the F8 key until you reach the Advanced Startup Menu of Options.

2. Select Mode safe mode with command prompt.

3. type chkdsk/r (there is a space between the k and /).

    KiranS Hello,

Judging by your post, it seems that Microsoft had technical problems when you tried to activate your copy of Vista by phone. Have you tried phoning the line Activation again?

The normal procedure is that if the activation fails through the automated system, the call is transferred to a real person. It is the only available option if you get the error 'use existing product key'.

I can only suggest that you try again the activation by phone and see what happens.

  • Problems with USB on Windows Vista - Satelltie A210 (PSAFGE)

    Hello!

I just bought myself a new laptop - Toshiba A210 - 15Y (PSAFGE) with Windows Vista preinstalled. The problem is that the laptop does not work with all USB devices. If I try to use a simple USB stick, mp3 player - always asks for drivers. The first time I connected my phone via USB, everything worked.

When I tried for the 2nd, 3rd etc time it does not work. He always asks for drivers. OK, so I installed the drivers for the phone - but it wasn't the problem.
The card reader is another problem - when I tried to use a SD card, he asked again for drivers.

Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?

    Hello

I advise you to reinstall Vista using the supplied with the laptop recovery CD. In addition, check in Device Manager if all devices are correctly installed.
Come back if the problem persists, we'll think of something else.

    Hello

When you try to start your computer do you have a Splash Screen (manufacturer or Logo MotherBoard, Acer, Dell, etc.) and a single "beep", what is normal?

I'm checking to see if your problem is; in the motherboard or hard drive.

    Follow this information:

Go to the website of your computer manufacturer > search your computer specifications > know brand of hard drive > access the Hard Drive manufacturer's Web site > find and download hard drive Diagnostic software and make a record of start of it on the computer that you use to get here, following their instructions > test your hard drive to see if it has failed.

And see if the hard drive tools help you.

  • 0x800F0826 error code when you install Windows Vista Service Pack 1

I bought Adobe Creative Suite CS4, so the installer tells me that I am in need of Vista Service Pack 1 to continue to install the programs. So, naturally, I go online and try to find the Service Pack 1. Mind you, I was never even offered the service pack via Windows Update... I wasn't even aware that they came out with ALL the service packs for Windows Vista. I am running Home Premium, by the way.

So find a download of the Service Pack and it ends after about an hour and a half. I'm going to install the service pack, and everything seems to go well until a few hours later when I get back to my computer and I have a message waiting on my office saying that the installation has failed. I studied the error code I received online (0x800F0826), and I noticed that a lot of people said it had to do with the updates that had already failed to install on Windows Update. Well, a lot of commentators on the issue suggested looking in Windows Update history and are looking for any updates. Well, it turns out that I have TONS that had failed in the past. I read that the updates that had a different other than 0x800F0826 error code were probably the cause of the problem. Well, they ALL have a different other than 0x800F0826 error code.

What I noticed though, is that all have the error code: 80070057. I was eager to get a glimpse of this problem pretty quickly because I have a class to come within 10 days that requires the use of Adobe CS4 software and I can not install it until I get the service pack work! Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you.

    Hi notpaul,
If you have not yet resolved this so I will answer your questions regarding upgrade\restore.  If you have a bunch of updates failed and are not offered SP1, the faster would be to do a factory restore.  Then immediately, run Windows Update until you are offered are no longer updated.  Then you can reinstall the programs and data.
If you want to upgrade to Windows 7, so make sure that you perform the custom installation.  This option will do a clean install of the operating system.  You will need to reinstall your programs and would need to make a backup of all your data before the installation.  Here is a link to Windows 7 install information. • Menu toolbar problem and start for windows vista Home premium 64-bit

I've recently been tweaking and accidentally got rid of my explorer.exe file, (I think that I sent to my trash and maybe deleted it?). Once I realized that I just typed as a new task and it reappeared.  The problem I have is that since then I had no toolbar or start menu.  I tried to access it through the control panel that does not work; I tried Ctrl Esc, which does not work, I tried everything I can think of? What's weird, that's all my desktop icons are great, and for some reason if I have Ghost click my mouse in the lower right of the screen I open random programs usually on my toolbar, I can even drag on my desk.  I tried to find common ground, if my toolbar is there somewhere?, do to slide it back on my screen, but it was done without success.  Another thing is when I start my computer in safe mode, my toolbar appears with my Start menu icon?  Anyone know what may be the problem?  I am running windows vista family premium. operating system: 64-bit

    Hello

    Method 1:

As you are able to see the toolbar in safemode, I suggest that you perform the clean boot to limit the problem.

Note: When the diagnosis is complete, don't forget to reset your computer to normal startup. Follow step 7 in the above article.

I suggest check the link and try to perform the checking and scan SFC (System File Checker) if it helps.
