Problems with the built-in webcam

I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite Pro A300. It has a built-in Chicony webcam. The webcam has stopped from windows startup. When I try to boot via the Camera Assistant Software, I get the following error message: "Webcam is either disabled or has failed." Please check your webcam settings. What can I do to solve the problem?

Start > type MsConfig

Select the Startup tab

Uncheck the box Camera Assistant Software

Click on apply, Ok

Restart the system

Check: Do not show this again on the Configuration window of the system that appears at the start otherwise it will be you harass each reboot.

Do you have Skype? Close it

Search for an updated driver and install it.

    I find and have checked through these forums, that the text boxes on web sites that are a single line are ignored by the spell checker. I'm working on a Web site, no I don't administer it, which has an input field which is a single line. This field is the only one I have problems with because it does not check the spelling.     Have you attempted to set the pref 2?

    That should give you a checkbox "Check spelling" and a menu of languages in the context menu for a single line entry field.

    I have a U400 too and I m using the internal webcam with Skype.
    It s works perfectly!

    But my software does not load automatically. I disabled in the msconfig.
    Software doesn't need to be loaded automatically in order to get it in MSM or Skype.
    So I recommend to disable auto-start.

  • Problem with the installation of the webcam VX2000

    problem with the installation of vx2000.  After installation, I hit finish and get error Lifecam.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.  The program is installed and the icon on my desktop but when I try to open it I get the error.  There is no Logitech drivers installed, have the latest version of the driver, uninstalled/installed in many times, did a clean boot.  Tried on another computer (same operating system) cam and installed and worked perfectly.  Reformatted the drive on my computer and and had the same problem error once again.  Checked the error reports and it shows kernel32.dll as the defective module but it, s not to be missed in System 32.  It may be corrupt and I would like to replace it.  If anyone can shed some light on this problem it would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks, Max

    I'm running into a problem with the ios version of our DPS application.

    We build a right and iTunes subscription app.

    To try the payment custom, I sign in and out as many different users.

    A new installation of the application on the iPad, I connect as a user XYZ.

    Tapping on the machine shows the Disconnect option [XYZ].

    After Sign Out look, I'll then sign up as a user ABC.

    Tapping on the machine always shows the Sign out [XYZ] option.

    Is this a bug? Know the cause? or I'm doing something wrong.

    This bug is a known issue. You can see the same problem in the ends of DPS when you connect (dps tips), disconnect, connect (bob bringhurst), and then sign in again. The original user is always displayed until the application is restarted. I don't know when this issue is scheduled to be fixed.

    Each laptop model comes with preinstalled OS and webcam should work fine.
    I presume that you should have Win7 64 bit, right?

    Thanks for posting on the Community Support from Apple. From your post, it looks like your haptic feedback does not work when you click using your trackpad and the setting is enabled. I know that this is a great feature and it is important to make it work. I'll be happy to help you.

    First of all, I would like to assure you that in system preferences > Trackpad > clicking silencer is not checked, that might help.
