ProBook 4520 button woes right touchpad

Hi all.

Got a new HP's Probook 4520 using XP SP3. I noticed that the touchpad is not what it should be in some windows.

For example. If I open an Excel spreadsheet and right-click on one of the tabs at the bottom nothing happens. That is to say I don't get the submenu where can I change the colors of the tab etc.  With IE8 if I right click on open tabs by using the touchpad I get nothing. With the help of a mouse, I get the normal submenu. However if I right click using the touch pad on the desktop I get the right menu so I know that the equipment works. Strange problem, but it's very irritating. I had a glance through the different touchpad options (there are a lot!) but I can't find anything in this regard.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Sammy

Hi again.

Just to let you know that if I press "Alt" then the button right then disappeared, the menus appear normal.

Hope that this 'correction' helps someone.

I have laptop (hp probook 4520 s), the touchpad does not work. How can I turn it back on it?

This is a question which would probably respond by HP support, because it isn't really a Windows problem.

Are you sure that the touchpad is not just turned off? Many laptops have switches, power switch, so you can rest your palm while typing one is not worry by pressing the key.

Sometimes, there is a button above the key, a key on the Ko, or some have a stain on the pavement you waiting/tap/double tap/etc. to toggle the pad.

If not, you could try to go on the site of HP and DOWNLOAD/reinstall assistance the SW for the touch pad.

  • ProBook 450 G2: Buttons on the touchpad Windows 10

I recently bought a HP Probook 450 G2, with Windows 7 preinstalled operating system.  After the update to Windows 10 (bit 63) I found this one of the buttons on the touchpad is not operational.  I can still tap the touchpad for a single or double click, but it leaves me no option to use the right button of the mouse.

I checked the drivers and found that they are updated to 19.0.12.0.  I tried also to reset the settings in the properties of the mouse, but had no chance to fix the problem.

Can I use a mouse with the computer, which works very well, but cannot use the touch pad to the quick tips that I have not the time to get out of the mouse.

Can anyone give me any suggestions or point me in the right direction to fix.

after upgrade windows 10 you must upgrade the Chipset and Bios, and other drivers

after update bios and chipset install please

The system for Windows 10 default settings

You then still have problems editing the Touchpad driver

Open Device Manager go to the Touchpad uninstall the driver with delete option

    Install new drivers

You should have, more tochpad driver installed uninstall first

    Hello

Maybe the touchpad button has a physical malfunction.
But first of all, you can try to reinstall the driver for the touchpad. Check if the resettlement will change something. But the truth; I don t think this will solve the problem. Anyway, try is free, you know.

But if that does not help so I think you need to replace the touchpad.

  • ProBook 4520 s: lack of features on a ProBook 4520 s after upgrade Windows 10

    Hello dear community

Long story short: I have a HP ProBook 4520 s and yesterday I upgraded manually (with the tool provided by MS) Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro. Everything went very well and smooth and it works perfectly well until now.

The problem is that some of the features of the laptop no longer work. Here are some examples:

    -Highlight the option on touchpad

    -built-in camera

-Some FN buttons like the one for the brightness of the screen while others (for example, the volume and email) working

My reasoning is that it lacks certain drivers or these functions are somehwat is not compatible with the new OS (it's a 5 + year old PC after all), but I could be wrong. I'd like to hear some suggestions and opinions on this.

If someone needs to my specifications complete, there are:

    Hello

  • ProBook 4520 s - exchange of the wireless network card

    Hello everyone.

I think the exchange of the wireless network card in my Probook 4520 s, due to the low flow.
So I searched for a while a 5 Ghz supporting the card and found out that I am only able to get in the "white" cards list working. Then I looked at this page:

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/document.jsp?lang=en & CC = US & objectid = c02487851 & jumpi...

These cards can be any, that have been used in 4520 s. Mine (according to the Device Manager) is the Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n. This thing only supports 2.4 Ghz. Now, I looked at the list for a 5 Ghz supporting the card. I think that the 802.11A/B/G/N WLAN Intel HMC 572520-001 minicards can operate on 5 Ghz, because I read, that A appears only with maps of 2.4/5 Ghz. I read too, that maps of 2.4 / 5 GHz have 3 antennas, but on this card I only the slots for 2. Is this good? And this card would go into my 4520 s?

    Greetings,

    Colony

    Hi, colony:

You are right about your statement about the cards being described as A/B/G/N dual-band.

The best thing to do is look at Chapter 3 of your service manual.

You can only order one of the cards listed as supported and it MUST have the HP reference on it or it won't work.

I see only two possibilities for you...

The 6200 Intel and Broadcom 4322.  Make sure you also get the part # that corresponds to what country you live.

If your current Broadcom card has integrated Bluetooth, you will lose your Bluetooth capability if you order an integrated HP bluetooth module and probably the cable too.

None of the dual-band cards have embedded bluetooth.

    Link to the service manual.

    http://bizsupport1.Austin.HP.com/BC/docs/support/SupportManual/c02439213/c02439213.PDF

Then, you can order a card on the link below.

If you do not live in the United States, you can change your country at the top of the page to yours.

When I installed the memory module on the laptop, I couldn't go essentially exceed the stage of the POST. Is the HP logo appears on the screen and what is it... That's all... nothing beyond this point.

When I went to the BIOS settings, memory read 81xxMB successfully, it is essentially 8 GB of RAM.

I tried to reset the BIOS settings, has not yet.

I removed the 2 x 4 GB modules, put back the two original modules of 1 GB and 2 GB - those who came with the laptop-, everything worked again.

What was not right here... ?

PS please don't answer not with lame answers "it's weird", "that's strange", I know it's weird and strange. I want clear and specific suggestions.

  • HP Probook 4520 s installed new hard drive with Windows 7 pro x 64 and drivers - very lag

    Hello

I had my HP Probook 4520 s for 5 years and a few months ago, he started to become very lag, especially when you use the internet, streaming video and games.

I thought I had identified the problem as a bad sector on the hard drive and so I bought a new hard drive and upgraded the RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB at the same time.

When I installed the new hard drive, I couldn't burn an image of my old hard drive (it would stop during the process and was unable to do so because of an error). I used my little HP Windows 7 Pro x 64 operating system DVD and your HP Application and Driver Recovery DVD to install the necessary drivers on my replacement new drive.

The RAM and the new hard drive seem to be good, however, it's more lag. I tried to use latancy monitors to see if the drivers are the issue. It seems that there is a huge amount of latancy and my CPU is at an almost constant usuage of 100%.

LatancyMon points in the following drivers: usbport.sys, tcip.sys, acpi.sys, iastor.sys, ndis.sys, dxgkrnl.sys and so on.

I've seen forums where they will guide you step by step how to determine what drivers are causing latancy. This I could do although he always seems to change drivers who are the cause of the problem and there seems to be a lot of pilots of causing this problem it is so difficult to bring out here that one. In addition, there seems to be no solution to these problems. The only one offered is to update the offending drivers. This does not solve the problem with lag and the latancy yet.

    Any ideas?

P.s. I really don't know not what is the underlying issue is here so I don't know if this is the right forum to post in. Drivers may not at all be the issue, I spent the last four weeks trying to solve this problem.

    Hello skinandbones13

You have a laptop. So try the right button on your touchpad. It work?
If so, the only remaining possibilities are:
    1. bad mouse. Get a new one.
    2. defective UBS port. Plug the mouse into a different port. See if the right click of the mouse works this time.

  • Black screen after startup probook 4520 s

    Hi all

I just got the probook 4520 s a few months ago. Now, I have a problem: when I start the laptop first sign of hp and then the windows sign appears on the screen. Instead of asking me to log in using the password or fingerprint digital, the screen will become black and all I can see is the mouse. I tried ctrl + alt + delete, but which does nothing.
I restarted my phone several times, but the same thing over and over again...
Can someone help me please? I'm a little desperate and all stores are closed on Sunday in Germany.

    Hello

Try the hard reset, but this time when you press the power button start to tap the F8 key to see if you can get into safe mode.

If you can get into safe mode, then you should be able to do a system restore to an hour before the start of this issue.

    Best regards

  • BSOD BCCode 116 - generated after installing updated drivers for ATI Mobility Radeon HD display drivers for HP Probook 4520 s 5470

I continue to work through issues with my HP Probook 4520 that is now almost 4 years with the same problem of a frozen screen.

Today, I decided to work in seeing if there was new ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 available display drivers.

I have the version of 15/03/2011 of the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470.  With that came the AMD Catalyst install Manager Version 3.00.0868

    .

During his visit the HP site I saw that they had a newer version available on the graphics card available with the date of April 30, 2011 and the download file has been identified as sp52818.exe for the Version of the graphics driver to download 8.743.2-- 110315 5A - 115833C.

In light of the penalty, that I got with my graphic display driver 15/03/2011, I decided to uninstall the drivers of my 15/03/2011 and download the drivers of 30/05/2011.

Doing this has my computer I notified that I already have the sp52818.exe file and so I was a little confused, but I allowed him to install over my existing file.

To install the file sp52818.exe successfully, I went to work.  Then after some time (within an hour), I got a message generated by computer at the bottom right of my screen saying a newer version of my graphics card was available at www.amd.com .

(first thought was - why HP had it?)

In any case... I decided to click on the suggestion box, visit www.amd.com and see what they had.  I was directed to install a driver to automatically detect the utility, and during the installation, the utility's suggestion came back that my computer can access a new graphic display driver.  I thought it was nice and so I then proceeded to of course download the .exe file for my HP probook 4520 s.  The proposed file was qualified: 13-12_mobility_win7_win8_64_dcl_ccc_whql_exe (graphic display for the ATI Radeon HD 5470 by suggestion of AMD driver.)

Everything goes well.  It starts to download the Catalyst install Manager Version 08.00.0915, then the ATI display drivers with > .NET Framework 4.5 (I'm just observing things that are facts).  Several times the black screen comes on, but that is to be expected.  I wait patiently, and finally I see the green bar of progress.  Just as the green bars come in the end, the screen goes black again for about 1 to 2 minutes.  Then suddenly the dreaded BSOD Blue Screen of Death comes with an error message saying that something has gone wrong and closing of windows, and he mentions something about Windows display drivers.  I'm not panicking yet, but is offered the possibility of recovering and I let the computer pick up normally, and I return to the screen of welcome with happiness and connect to.

From the entrance, the first thing I see is a Windows Error Message, I opened and saved and here provide for our education and research.

I'm not able to open the .dmp file to display as the file associations cannot establish a connection, and I am unable to find the AppData file under users.  Windows 7, it is extremely difficult find the files suggested by error messages.

I would like to know why the BSOD appeared, then please explain the error message that came as I was trying to install a driver recommended for my computer using download driver acceptable practices, causing me concern and frustration, as well as the 4 years of intermittent to faithfully display failure.  I'm not sending the machine backwards.  There must be a solution.

(Rabbit Trail - the suggestion to display the privacy statement is also an attempt to distract people to get a real fix and do believe that Windows 'help' you who isn't.)

The laptop is running and I can see things on the screen.  It seems OK, but I'm going to face other issues?

You are right that the accident may have been caused by the newly installed ATI driver. I checked on the HP Site and there is a version of the same display offered with the same output driver date on the ATI site, so the difference may be that the version of HP's specific system, while the ATI Version is just generic, so my suggestion would be to uninstall the ATI Version and replace it with the HP driver.

  • Hello.. I have laptop (hp probook 4520 s), keyboardis does not.

Hello.. I have laptop (hp probook 4520 s), keyboardis does not. only the letters 'B' and 'n' How do I reactivate? because when I use a keyboard external usb it works? Help, please

    Helder salvation,

Did you of recent changes made to your computer?

We will reinstall the internal keyboard drivers and check.

    a. click Start, type Control Panel in the search box, press enter, click System, click Device Manager, click on keyboard.
    b. you should find the internal keyboard part as well as any external keyboard used.
    c. right-click on the keyboard integrated in the list, click on uninstall.
    d. unplug the external keyboard.
    e. restart the computer and check if the keyboard internal works.

Since the external USB keyboard works, if drivers did not fix the internal keyboard problem, I suggest you to contact the manufacturer to check if there is a hardware problem.

    Hope the above information helps.

  • Built-in webcam bent works on HP ProBook 4520 s product number: WH300UT #ABA

Hi, I have a HP ProBook 4520 s running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, the number of product WH300UT #ABA. I had tested my camera one day before the trip June 30 and found that it worked very well, however several days after their arrival I used for the first time and found that it only shared no video on the Facebook video chat. I went to Skype to find a similar situation, it identifies the device that is used, but it doesn't send any video. Finally, I checked in her Arc Soft Total Media Suite to see if I could take pictures, once more he identified the connected device and yet nothing was displayed, not even pure black and the buttons to capture and record are grayed out. I made no changes since the last successful use, as far as I know to my system other than the installation of a new mouse and windows updates. I would appreciate help, thank you.
