ProBook G1 450: Problem with Catalyst Control Center

So I'm a gamer and I want to improve my performance, so I searched around the internet and found a thing called the Catalyst Control Center and he had an option to Overclock, I thought it was a great idea to speed up my pc, so I downloaded it, but during the installation it says it found no compatible hardware? AFAIK the ProBook G1 450 have Intel HD 4600 Graphics and AMD Radeon HD8 8750 M, so what gives? Can I get help please?

P.S. I checked the drivers and he said I had the latest drivers installed, so I have no idea what could be the problem.

Try this driver http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=5405166&swItemId=ob_154962_1&swEnvOid=4192

If still happens once, respond with error message.

I see the support site for my laptop: http://www.sony.de/support/de/product/VPCEB4Z1E_BQ/updates but there is no driver for windows 8. I believe that Sony has stopped support for this model. my laptop has an ATI Radeon 5000 series graphics card and provides the microsoft driver does not work properly and more I can not install the new driver from the site Web of AMD. He repeats to me: not supported for this hardware please cantact manufacturer.

anyone has the same model or knows how to solve this problem? Please help ASAP

    Hello vykchamling,

Here in the US, when a model has no drivers on the support for Windows 8 Web site, which usually means that the model is not entirely taken in charge for Windows 8.  It could be even more at Sony Europe.  I suggest you contact Sony Europe directly to find out if the VPCEB4Z1E is supported this operating system.

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about the problem of Catalyst Control Center and wanted to help.

Is this an update of driver that has been installed by HP Support Assistant?

Or (more likely) you go to AMD and download yourself?

Because if the latter, which was a big mistake!  Laptops come with specialized equipment for which the drivers are delivered only by OEM - in this case, HP.

What you need to do is the following:

    (1) download and run this utility AMD to remove AMD drivers you installed: utility uninstall own AMD

    2) go to this HP Product Page and download the AMD drivers and install THOSE: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-g6-Notebook-PC-series/5262606/model/5293908

After that, you should be OK.

And stay away from downloading drivers from the Internet for your laptop.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

  • Catalyst Control Center won't open, please help

    Hello everyone I have a laptop HP DV7 - 6 c 00 with a card ATI Radeon HD 7470 M running on 64-bit Windows 7 SP1.

Now a few days ago, I could open Catalyst Control Center (CCC) or "configure switchable graphics" but now, for some reason that I'm not able to open what makes me really upset because I've had nothing but bad luck with this laptop.

When I was able to open CCC when I tried to configure switchable graphics, it only helped me select programs to use with switchable graphics, this is not what I wanted.

I wanted to like my other HP laptop where if I plug my charger it asks me to change graphics card and if I unplug it, same thing.

I could get my other laptop works correctly with the switchable graphics option in getting the last graphic card ATI radeon for this laptop, but for some reason that I can't do with this laptop. It seems that the pilot of 7470 m radeon hd can only come from HP.

Even when I downloaded the correct driver or automatic detection utlity Radeon site, it gives me an error of incompatible hardware, and the installation is aborted.

So very well since I wanted to correct my switchable grahics problem where it is more general (not ask me to change when I plug / unplug the charger) told me that I had to update my bios. Then I updated my bios from HP website. Here is the link I used

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=5214391&...

Okay, so after I updated my bios I've gone into bios and entered the 'switchable graphics option' and changed momentum for "fixed".

After the reboot, I can not open the CCC (I could not open it before that the bios update or the other, I was hoping that the bios update would fix it)

Then I tried to go to the "HP Recovery Manager" and reinstall the AMD graphics card driver, which didn't work.

I tried to go to 'Add Remove Programs' and I tried the 'fix' of 'Catalyst Install Manager' option and it does not work...

As I said... I am very satisfied with this laptop, it seems that it is almost a daily chore to keep this laptop work properly. Every day, it seems that I'm fixing something...

Personally, I don't know if switchable graphics has been a great idea/option, I mean, he seems to have the best intentions in the world, but all google searches I've done, it seems hardly all work correctly.

Now, I am a dedicated HP customer, I bought 10 + laptops and desktops Desktop 5 + years, but I am very disappointed with this laptop... or maybe I'm just upset =)

Is someone can please tell me what I should do to get CCC works so I can set up my advanced graphics card and fix my switchable graphics.

Now, none of the drivers were working from the AMD website, but I could try to download their Catalyst Control Center app, do you think it would work?

I really need some advice on this one there...

Thank you all for your time and help

OK well first off I want to thank everyone for all their support and answers! Hahah =-)

Well, since I've had these great suggestions, it was extremely simple to fix this problem...

Okay well I was able to find a solution to this problem on mine and here is how I did incase anyone runs into this problem and is in need of a solution as well...

As I said above "switchable graphics" has never worked on my HP Pavilion DV7 laptop since the first day. So in order to get switchable graphics work where he asked me "can I watch change graphics card" anytime I plug or unplug my charger for my laptop, I had to update the bios.

After I updated the bios and rebooted the computer I had to go into the bios settings and change switchable graphics of 'dynamic'-> 'fixed '. This would allow graphics cards to move whenever the charger is plugged or unplugged, only graphic rather than spend proccessors on some applications (which is a nightmare!)

Good then after that I updated the bios I tried to open it "catalyst control center" which does not open. After trying to reinstall the graphics driver to "hp Recovery Center" CCC would not always open.

    So here's what I did...

First of all, I went 'Add Remove Programs' and remove the Cataylist Installation Manager

Then, I ran CCleaner and did an analyization of my registry and delete everything that relates to the ATI graphics card, which had lots of locations in the registry.

Then I went to the official driver from HP site for my laptop computer and downloaded the driver for my graphics driver for Radeon HD 7470 M.

After installing the driver and restarting my computer, I could finally open Catalyst Control Center and switchable graphics finally working the way I wanted it!

Well now, this problem is resolved...

Right, now I always have problems with BSOD (blue screen of death) which I think that I have under control, but now I'm having a problem with my laptop which no matter when he goes into "sleep mode" and I try to take over the laptop, just of freezes and stays on the black screen, even with the light on the button (f10) wifi on and the light button mouse on...

When it goes into sleep mode, I can't get the laptop to resume, I have to turn off it and then restart it back...

I swear that this HP Pavilion DV7 was nothing else than to the problems of... but me, I learned a lot by setting all his questions and I hope to have this resolved as well...

Well I hope that my experience with Catalyst Control Center and switchable graphics will help someone else's problem, and thank you all who participate on this forum (but not on my thread!)  =)

Well, I just want to say one thing... HP makes great computer/laptop and I love them. All computers will have problems, it's just normal. I know that my next HP computer will not switchable graphics!

I just received a response from AMD for a known issue with Catalyst Control Center and Windows 7.  You can go there.  It worked for me the first time after a lot of troubleshooting.

How to solve the CCC is not loading/opening at initialization.

Scenario: the user tries to open/load the CCC through different methods, but it does not load. The problem may occur without any changes to the system or a Catalyst driver update or reinstall. This is issue mainly affects Windows 7 machines.

Cause: possible corruption of the Windows Global Assembly Cache (GAC). Usually, this requires the user to format and reinstall Windows.

Resolution: this solution has been tested - reproduced and resolved.

Remove all the ATI through programs and features in Control Panel using the Manager to install Catalyst (GPC). Restart the system in safe mode and follow these steps:

-Remove all ATI C:\programs files files and the C:\programs files (x 86)

-Go to the C:\Windows\assembly and sort by "public key token. Locate the following key token public "90ba9c70f846762e" which is

-associated with ATI. Usually only 2 entries. Remove 2 entries. Note: entries should be deleted (right click and select uninstall) since regular safe mode

-mode may cause a permissions error. 2 entries appear only in the systems concerned by this issue. This means that you want the 2 inputs on systems where the CCC charges, the entries do not exist.

    -Close and restart normally.

    -Reinstall the ATI Catalyst package.

I hope that you will get in working order!

  • Pavillion dv7 4177nr: VGA output problem and catalyst control start link

I don't know if the problems are related or if I made things worse.  It started with an error message on uo start saying that there is a problem with Catalyst Control fail to start.  He always allowed did not work me to function normally until, in front of an audience, the o/p to a projector VGA connection.  I had a spare cable who has not remedied the situation then my class sitting around the laptop.

Another symptom is that the HDMI output is not working.  I do not ko wif it's a separate issue.

With the notion that it was connected, I set attemping to remove and re-install the drivers AMD and blindly assumed that it was where I'd get the update of the Cat command.

I used the AMD compatibility checker and installed for the AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 graphics card.  The driver version is 8.770.2.1000 dated dated 19/09/2010

I can't duplicate the display or projector only use but when I attach an external monitor laptop change resolution as to accommodate the additional display.

I only need to check the applicability of the changes that I made, or I need help to plan a way out of the mess I made.

    Hello g_david,

    Thanks for the quick response!

To eliminate the possibility of a software problem, I have recommended to perform a backup and restore of your operating system. This can be done by following this document on the backup of files (Windows 7), and more to perform a recovery of the system HP (Windows 7). This should return your system to the factory settings.

  • I uninstalled Catalyst Control Center who uninstalled a few other related things, one of them my videocard (problem of graphics)

I uninstalled Catalyst Control Centre, where it took place, it kept blowing - rises, saying it had stopped working. I also read somewhere (not Wikipedia) the Catalyst Control Center was a virus so I uninstalled, which uninstalled a few things related to it one of them my video card I understand now manages the screen resolution, colors, my customization in Chrome color settings, and many other features which I'm just discovering. She brought to the resolution of the screen on my laptop (much it zooms) and reset all my customizations of color to the standard that I hate. I wonder if I have to reset my computer to an earlier date, or if I have to download a new video card. I downloaded the Catalyst Control Center and what came with it but nothing has changed now, options in the control panel > appearance and personalization are missing which is what I used to make my settings and where it let me normally the change of colors (I picked red) are all gone. The screen resolution is still a little low (which means its still slightly zoomed in) in what she was before, and how I liked it, but at least I can still do what I have to (I use this computer mostly for Facebook and games my whole life revolves around both of them, for me so it is essential that this problem may not seem like a large face you (, but for me it is!) So should I reset my computer to an earlier date or download something or what. Help me please. If I have to do a system restore could someone please tell me how or where to go?

    Hello

It is both the latest drivers available from Toshiba specifically for your machine...

    I think the Win 8 2012, and pilots Win 8.1 are 2013...

I'm sure there are newer drivers, but which are not compatible with your machine...

Type M chips and drivers are different from those of a desktop machine where it is not really important who built the computer because the driver and catalyst for the chip...

Laptops are different, because manufacturers sometimes customize drivers to their specific models.

That's why you have problems. You posted a list previously of three manufacturers which are not compatible with the AMD drivers, one of them being Toshiba...

That's because Toshiba has changed the drivers or the material in such a way that the normal drivers do not work...

You can try to update the drivers for the newer versions through windows or Windows Updates... you might get lucky and they will work OK or maybe even better...

There have been problems with graphs of type AMD M since Win 8 came out, so I can't say with certainty what will happen.

Drivers AMD come as a complete package now... CCC and all drivers. They tend to be available separately, but may not be. I saw a couple of times where you can just get CCC, but it's very rare...

Sometimes you will get just the driver of Windows updates even if...

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

That would happen if the card drivers to display on the computer must update or corrupt.
