  Hello massi4alex,

  You can try to correct the mistakes of 0 x 80040004 of Windows Live Essentials by deleting the Windows Live folder and the temp folder in appdata or application. You will need to do it in safe mode. Once it is uninstalled, then reboot in normal mode and reinstall Windows Live Essentials for Windows XP.

  I use a HP Pavilion 6675, I've had for a few years - it has been pre-installed with Windows 7 Home. Now I get a pop-up message of Windows Activation Technologies by saying that this computer is not running genuine windows. If I click on the link to solve online now, he takes me to a page that whirles around for a certain time and then trying to make me buy Windows genuine (which I already have!). It seems because of this problem, I am currently not able to install updates for Windows. At rang HP support, they want me re - set the computer to factory settings - seems too drastic for me.   I bought 2 Dell inspiron laptop computer n5040 in July 2010 for my son. In October, the hard drive failed completely on one and had to be replaced. I have re-installed all software using the disks of backup/recovery system, I created when we first arrived the laptops. Has been a lot of work, but then I got the Activate message windows however, the label key at the bottom of the laptop is so faded, I can do only 15 first numbers/letters. I've run magical jelly bean and typed in the key, it gave me. However, this proved be the key to the other laptop. Apparently, when I did the re - install the system disks copied this information too.

  I contacted Dell to find the right key and they have been very useful and after many emails, checking the laptop / proof of purchase etc, they agreed to send me a re-installation disc that would solve the problem.

  My 30 days are up, and I constantly get the non-genuine message. Disk hadn't come in December (be they sent to my old address even if I confirm my new address 3 times). Finally, have them yesterday but not lucky me they sent me a disc to install windows 8. I don't want windows 8, I want to stay under windows 7. It is now October and I'm really tired now. Is can someone please tell me how to find the original key for my laptop so I can reactivate windows.

  You're out of luck, because the media keys and recovery of COSTS directly from Dell would have been your best two options, the only other thing you can do if you really need Windows 7 is to buy a full version license:

  I have a C540 all in one (no load) running Windows 8 and noticed yesterday that Windows updates have been failure for months then tried to run all the updates so that I can update to 8.1 (and, possibly, 10). At that time (and since purchase - I'm the original purchaser) Windows 8 has been activated very well.

  There were various failures and reversions of updates and now Windows does not recognize the Activation Code. The key is material, it shows that I have a key in the registry, but when I entered in the service of Activation of Windows I get the error:

  Someone at - it ideas or experience or I'll just have to hit this PC with a massive hammer and not buy Lenovo or authorized OEM PCs again?

  I think I have a half today to answer my own question.

  Today (without any changes made to anything) the key to Activation of Windows 8 was suddenly recognized and valid again. Now install each windows update individually also works.

  I think that it is possible, but there is an intermittent hardware fault kind on the C540 causing quite different material for the MS license not to recognize the configuration (and think that the license is not valid for the PC), whatever it is not permanent.

  Then - in terms of correction... Well I don't have - he went just by itself and I guess he'll be back one day...

  I am trying to use a program that I just installed yesterday called "Sculptris" this program allows to create 3D Sculptures. When I click the icon, DEP closed Windows program and says that the file is checked as an .exe program. I tried many attempts to stop DEP in Windows and even try to keep the DEP, with the exception of this one program. All of my recent attempts have failed, and I don't know where to go from here. If anyone knows how I can stop off DEP, or even just for a single program, that would be greatly appreciated. I tried to cut the DEP from the prompt, but still access is denied.   Your printer is listed here.   What is your problem with their procedure here?   For example, it is implied that the W8 should choose a driver for you.

• Random BIOS style beep while under windows. Help please!

  Hello, I have a laptop Dell precision M6800 that randomly makes one style of short BIOS beep then in windows 8.1 during normal operation does not when starting.

  The sound system is disabled so the beep is not windows. The beep occurs also through the speakers when I have my headphones plugged in so I think it's actually the motherboard speaker, making the beeps.

  I checked the windows event log, but no errors or warnings are connected at the same time when the beep occurs. The laptop works fine no glitching or error notifications during the beep, but it gets boring after a while and I'm worried that it might indicate a problem with the hardware.

  The beep occurs sometimes seconds apart, other times the minutes to hours apart, and some days, not very often, it can go from boot to close (over 12 hours) without any beeps.

  Any ideas on what could be the cause?
