Process SVCHost.exe Win7/64 / DNSCache service uses 100% of CPU

I see this question that arises often, even if none of the above seem to apply to my situation. I hope someone can help me.

My laptop Win7/Pro/64 has developed a strange problem in recent weeks. Sitting idle, the svchost.exe process will amp - up to 100% cpu - essentially lock down the computer until I have manually end the process through the Task Manager. It consumes cpu in 25% incremenets... from 25, then a few minutes later increasign to 50, 75 and 100%. When I look at the services running in svchost.exe that I see he's DNSCache who is the culprit. By the time I hit 100% cpu, there are four cases of service management DNSCache - each with 25%. My first thought was malware... so I did scan with McAfee and Microsoft AV/Malware detection complete sw and found nothing. Any suggestions on what I can do?

  • the process Svchost.exe to netsvcs uses a lot of memory (~ 600 MB) and 100% cpu

I have windows xp edition sp3 family. I hit the power button to hibernate the pc but I think an automatice update was running.  Pc crashes when windows resumes after hibernation. I forced a re-boot, but now the svchost.exe to netsvcs process uses a lot of RAM and CPU. I have a Dell Dimension 8250 with 1 GB of RAM. Svchost uses > 600 MB of memory and 100% of the CPU unless I have stop the DHCP service. When I stop DHCP the svchost stops using CPU and memory affected slowly decreases to about 150 MB and remains at this level. But without DHCP I do have access to the network.

After installing SP3 recently I started having some weird problems, as I lost my printer and had to re - install the software. Also noticed that after re-booting and desktop appears completely empty, the screen turns white and the taskbar at the bottom will appear empty for about 30 seconds, then reappears. PC seems to be more slow tha before installing SP3.

I've tried everything. Nothing stopped the svchost to chew all the memory, virtual memory and time processor. Had to re - install windows xp.

  • JRun.exe uses 100% of CPU

Someone at - it guidance on this issue.

Win NT2003 server using Apache + mysql DB CF8 Standard
JRun.exe has recently started using 100% of time CPU under the supervision of taskmgr

We thought it was related to the use of client variables and fill out the register, but having this application off and cleaned the registry from 500 MB to 18 MB! (also tried to use DB to store)

Have searched google - many examples of question in older versions of CF, but this issue is specifically with MX8

It is possible that some runaway process / application is causing the problem, but find it proves elusive, is it possible to get more information about coldfusion as what he does?

Coldfsion restart service solves the problem for about 2 hours, and then it happens again.

OK, the problem is resolved. For anyone who is interested. We have looked at Apache access.log and noticed a LARGE number of PROPFIND requests this narrowing it seems to open a word document in our CF application and then closing it caused a loop to implement.
Essentially, the closure of the doc he tried to open the index.cfm which redirected to home.cfm and returned to index.cfm somehow

Change apache configured to use home.cfm instead of index.cfm fixed the problem.

  • Satellite L850-1V8 - 'System' process (PID 4) uses 100% of CPU

    Hello

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L850 1V8 with windows 8.1 64 bit on it.

I encounter the following problem: some times when I start the system, the 'System' (PID 4) NT kernel process begins to spin, taking up 100% of any one heart.

This happens about 3-5 minutes after that the system is in place, but a few times I saw him from the hours later.
I have to restart the system to make this problem go away.

Someone at - there experience this problem?
No idea where to start looking for a solution?

These processes can be associated with any software / application running in the background system

But I know kernel NT & system could be generated by http.sys uses port 80.

That would mean that and would mean that a piece of software like IIS (internet Information services) could be responsible for this process in the background.

  • WIN8 antimalware service use 100% cpu at idle

When I do nothing on my Yoga then Antimalware Service is started and my Yoga is so hot and so loud with fans. Does anyone know how to disable this Antimalware Service can you? I know I can disable Windows Defender. But I want real-time scanning when I download something. I have just not what hdd scan when I'm idling. In Win7, you can disable analysis to idle and don't have real-time scanning. I Win8 this option is not available. Someone has solved this problem?

    Hi szy,.

It is not a setting in Defender to use the on-demand scan, but there is a way to disable an auto scan however.
The analysis runs as part of a scheduled task:
1 open the task schedule (schedule tasks and he will be under search settings)
2 double-click to open the Task Scheduler Library in the left pane, its located under Microsoft-> Windows Defender.
One you want is called MP scheduled scan, if you click on it, on the bottom of the sidebar on the right you can turn it off.

  • mscorsvw.exe using 100% of cpu - Windows xp

Yesterday my computer has finished 17 automatic updates.  Since then, my computer has been bogged down and keeps freezing.  The CPU is at 100% pretty much all the time.  According to me, there are 2 mscorsvw entered in the Task Manager.  I tried to stop him without success.  I followed the instructions to get to the command prompt, but it keeps giving an error message when I try to make the process of ngen.exe executequeueditems.

Thanks for your suggestion.  I tried everything without success.  Finally, I out my hard drive and installed as a second drive in another computer.  I then ran scans using Malware, Spybot and AdAware.  AdAware found 13 malicious infections, Spybot found one.  After that, it worked perfectly.

Also - I installed Revo Uninstaller (the pro version with a 30 day free trial) - and ran all components.  The program cleaned up the drive beautifully and it now works better than ever.
  • Window Media Player.exe using 100% of CPU and memory

I have a Pavilion dv4-2145-dx Windows 7 Ultimate SP1, 4 GB of memory. Windows Media Player.exe supports my CPU 100% usage and it is striking all my memory - 4 GB.   It started right after I set up a homegroup.

I had to go into Admin/service and change the Startup Type to disabled for:

    • Windows Media Center Receiver Service
    • The window media services planning service
    • Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service

I tried setting services to manual, but Windows Media Player has yet caught all the CPU and memory, he could then I disabled all the.

I do not know how to disable homegroup and Windows Media Player services work together so I wonder if everything is always operate has designed with the homegroup and sharing my music.

    Hello

I think this explains the problem.  The 2 entries here should be deleted, because the first will try to index all of your user profile and the second will attempt to index all of the Windows Partition.

    C:\Users\Rick

    C:\

To remove them, click to the left of the entrance, highlight it, and then click Remove.  When these two entries have been removed, reboot the laptop and you should find that the problem has been resolved.

    Kind regards
