Hello

building an oracle vm Server 3 downside. I have 2 x 1600 mhz processor, but the oracle documentation says min hardwarerequirments than 1.83 ghz.
my installation will fail or be slow/unusable?

He will not fail, but it may be slower than you want.

The '750' is the number assigned to the PowerPC G3 processor: a PowerPC 750.  The processor speed is not 750 MHz.  A few years ago, when your beige G3 was not quite so old, there were third, faster G3 and processor G4 upgrades marketed for these models.  Even if you bump the processor speed, the speed of 66 MHz system bus will pass and you have dedicated graphics bus AGP.  All PCI video cards are installed in one of the 33 MHz PCI slots.  The offset that you are experiencing is due to a combination of hardware architecture very up-to-date of these computers in 1997/1998.  You could install a faster ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) processor upgrade card, but I don't think that you will experience results that you would hope for.  If I spend the money on a card processor used for a beige G3 in 2016, she will have to be a G4 and very expensive.  All of the money invested in upgrading to a beige G3 will exceed the current market value of the computer.  You can read old comments on these upgrades to accelerate your Mac 'area G3'.

One of the problems was appear:
Speed of the processor is clocked at 1.6 GHz, but when I check in the Windows system properties, the speed is 598 Mhz, and the system is very slow.
How to change on the rise?

Tab CPU are not displayed in SWsetup.
It is also not possible to change the standard configuration after reboot.

    Help, please. :)

    Best regards

    Hmm. very strange

Did you change the motherboard or you did a hardware upgrade?

As far as I know, such behavior can occurs after replacing the CPU or the motherboard.
After the replacement of the microcode must be written again.
If the technician forgets the microcode update then the CPU goes only to ~ 600 Mhz.

    I'd appreciate feedback.

    Welcome to the forum!

What you feel is the factory default setting. You may or may not be able to get around using an adapter 90 w instead of a 65W one, but I've generally not recommended to use the ThinkPads without a pile of work.

    Hello

Well, this unit is about 8 years.
As far as I know the energy saver is preinstalled on new computers laptop Toshiba.
This utility controls the cooling module and the CPU processing speed.
I don't know if it could be a problem on your laptop, but maybe the cooling module cannot m works specific performance and the energy saver has decreased the speed of the cpu.

Check the cooling fans and try to clean it. In addition, you should check the settings of standby power.

  • different processor speeds

The VI of ESX5i customer reports CPU as E5630 @2 model. 53 GHz but processor speed shows that 1.6 GHz. It is a machine of R 510 dell with BIOS version 1.5.3. What is the actual speed?  and why it is showing different speeds? Is there any logic or just a restriction on the side of the BIOS? Any response will be appreciated

    Thank you

You may have low power settings configured in the BIOS, change in the configuration.

Also look on the host computer in configuration / power management, you will see the settings for the processors in there, you can select the properties to change.

I always set mine to performance in both contexts.

  • Satellite M30, the processor speed?

    Hello

I received my laptop Toshiba m30 pentium 1.6 m John Lewis back after replacing the LCD screen. After using it for a few hours last night, I realized the fan did not come at once.
I checked the speed of the cpu and it is fixed at 600 mhz. I can't change it much matter what I do. It was fine until it went for repair. I put the option always entirely in the bios, but it's still 600 mhz. Even playing DVD is the same and the fan never turns on. Before that happened for repair, there is a Toshiba power save option where you can set the speed to always high or dynamic etc., but now there is only an option to adjust the level, either 1, 2 or 3. Also, I had already updated the bios to 1.60 and when I looked after taking over it was 1.20? Is there a reason why Toshiba needed to do this? I updated the bios to 1.60 and its still the same.

    Hello

looking at your history, it seems that you have had more than a replacement of the LCD screen. I guess the servicepartner has also changed the PCB (motherboard). If they do, they need to upgrade a special firmware to get the full speed of the CPU. If they fail to do this, the machine runs at a speed fixed 600 MHz. Just as you describe.
So, my suggestion, contact the serviceprovider and ask them if they have changed the motherboard and if they did, ask them to update the CPU microcode.

    Good luck

  • Tecra 8100: the wrong processor speed?

I just bought a Tecra 8100 opportunity and told me the cpu speed to 800 MHz. This excerpt with the technical spec that I downloaded form the Support from Toshiba site.

However, there is a program called Belarc advisor installed that the cpu is a P3 252 MHz. Windows XP system also P111 252 Mhz properties.

Can someone advise n the correct speed?

  • Satellite M30-951 - processor clocked at 600 MHz (it must be at 1500) - high energy saving

    Hello

earlier this year, a company has changed the case of my laptop. Since that time on the laptop was very slow. I thought it has something to do with the software, but after a new installation, the problem was not solved.

Now, I used severel programs to check the speed of the CPU. Programms all tell me that my CPU Speed is 600 MHz (it must be at 1500 MHz).

The laptop is connectet to current alternative and energy-saving is high. I did a bios update and spent setting the CPU in the Bios of dynamics to high. But no sollution.

Then I saw that my fan does not (at the beginning, or when I use Notepad). I thought that his damaged, but I tested it on another laptop and the fan works perfectly with 5V.

Moreover no program shows me the temprature, so I think the sensor of temprature or anything else is failure, so that the fan does not work and the CPU is at each time at 600 MHz.

Does anyone have an idea how I can fix this problem or I have to change?

    Thank you very much

    Concerning

    Nassim

Seems you have tried almost everything that can be done now.
And I agree with you that there could be something wrong with temperature sensor and this is why I advise you to go to an authorized service provider to verify if this is really the problem.

Before you do, you could try if the programmable notebook hardware control (NHC) can display the temperature because it is a very good tool. But as you say, no other tool could do this job, I doubt that it can control it. But worth a try.

  • Pavilion 15-n248sa: what processor speed is shown on the information sheet?

I was recently going through all my stuff, work on which should be placed in a cell, when I found all the information about my computer sheets. On one of these journals, it says that I have an Intel Pentium Quad - Core 2.4 GHz processor N3520, but when I go into the control panel system page, it says I have an Intel Pentium Quad - COre N3520 2.16 GHz processor (it says 2.00 GHz when I was on windows 8.1, the preinstalled operating system, but has increased during the update). The processor name and model number are identical on the sheet and the Control Panel, but the speeds are different from almost 400 MHz, the origianal operating system and almost 250 MHz off now. I was wondering if it was because on the sheet, they wrote the overclock speed, or if HP has another way of mesuring the speed of the processor as the OS does.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have attached the image of the sheet that I found, (badly) photoshopped of private information.

Please see Intel® Pentium® Processor N3520 (2 M Cache, up to 2.42 GHz) to get answers to your question. Basis of the processor speed is 2.16 GHz, burst speed is 2.40 GHz, and according to the power state of the computer speed can be reduced to slot an of these.

    Apple says the following:

    General requirements

    • OS X 10.6.8 or later version
    • 2 GB memory
    • 8.8 GB of available storage

For best performance, I would say not less 4 GB and preferably 8 GB or more.

Your i5 is well able to support properly.

Can I know where I can get the information below:

For example, we are 4 dev servers. Installation modules: Foundation, Essbase, FDM, ODI, Planning Reporting

for 50 users, how can we calculate RAM, processor, processor speed how?

    Documents or articles as well.

    Mady

Not wishing to be too dismissive but it's one of these "how long a piece of string fo do I need?' type questions."

The memory & processors will depend on the size and complexity of the applications/cubes resulting.

As Essbase is always subject to a single processor by cube of pork, it is best to go for high speeds (3 Ghz +) processor more quanity of carrots for an essbase server.

As a rough starting point I would usually put up on about 4 servers each at least 16 GB of RAM and 4 cores of each. However, you can get everything on a single server if he;'s spec is good enough and your cargo will be light (dev purposes).

If the app is great, or reports strong he might need for more servers (Weblogic applications horizontal scale) or more of memory.

  • Sizes of mixed memory in Dell R710 to reach speeds of 1333 mhz and 800 mhz

We have some Dell R710 which was originally ordered with 48 GB in a configuration of 1333 mhz 12x4Go (RDIMMS). We ordered 6 sticks of memory of 4 GB 1333 mhz additional to complete all 18 banks for a total of 72 GB.  The speed of the memory, then decreased to running at 800 mhz.  We had immediately complaints on the performance in some of our mission critical VM (terminal Server and SQL DBs servers), so we have VMotion their due on a R710 still on the original 12x4Go config clocked at 1333 mhz and complaints went.  I spoke with pre-sales both Dell and after-sales technical support and they confirm that filling all 18 banks decreases speed to 800 mhz, but I get conflicting reports which must be running 12 banks (which is configured as 2 of the 3 banks available in each 6 channels) at 1 066 mhz now which is not. Still, both say that my best option is to return the modules to 4 GB bought recently and also pull the original 12x4Go modules and replace them all by 12x8Go 96GB and should operate at 1333 mhz.  It is really more memory I need and almost three times that I have already budgeted and spent on extra 4 GB of purchase sticks.

The other option, you said I could do, as well as that of my question is to mix 6x4Go and 6X8Go, up to 72 GB.  I see also that is a configuration of memory available on the Dell Web site during the construction a R710, and he said 1333 mhz as well.  Technical support before and after had these things to say, and it makes me a little nervous because this isn't an absolute 'you'll be fine:

    prior support guy:

"Everything I read or say confirms that it is perfectly fine to mix the modules in sizes too long as modules within each channel are the same size." I think it can be recommended by most to ensure the consistency of the size but as I said before that we have in our new server system configurations to be cited with mixed sizes what makes me even more confident that is you went this route you would be fine and little or no experience in performance decline. »

    support after guy:

"Regarding your new question on the use of 6 DIMM 4 GB mixed with 8 GB for a total of 72 GB, which is not an optimum configuration, but I don't think you should really meet a lot of problems with it."  I mentioned before that if you mix speeds, it will downclock fastest at the speed of slow DIMM DIMMS, so certainly would advise against mixing speeds. Regarding the size, the only thing you might encounter as it is booting, you can hear this isn't an optimal configuration, but it should detect any memory and be able to make use of this.  Don't think there is really a performance reached unless you're missing speeds.  «Also, don't forget to reflect your configuration across all channels, if you do not want all of the 4 GB and 8 GB in the same configuration such that put all 8 GB in slots 1/2/3, then put the 4 GB DIMMs in 4/5/6 on both machines slot A and B.»

So the real question is - if it is not a "optimal" configuration, which makes it means the actual performance of my vSphere servers?  All done and they have problems?

    Thank you

    Ben

How about using 8x8GB sticks for each host? You'd get to 64 GB each... I'd like to see if Dell will allow you to trade in the memory, you do not have to purchase new memory inside the host... Or look for another provider of memory which will provide you with the correct memory at a better price.

  • Better to have more processor speed? or more cores?

Our Mac Pro marketing departments are in need of an upgrade. So we built the most recent Mac Pro on the Apple site, but had a question about the processor. There are mainly 2 options of a processor as we watched, 6 strands 3.5 GHz with 12 MB of L3 cache and 3.0 GHz 8 - core with 25 MB of L3 cache. Is there a recommendation with the software Creative cloud (especially Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) on if it's faster / more efficient to have the fastest processor speed? or having more cores? InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop is great in MultiThreading?

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Adrienna,

For specifications for creative cloud applications system requirements, please visit the following link: system requirements | Cloud Creative

In addition, two configurations are pretty overwhelming and a disabling these can manage applications CC very well although my personal recommendation would be one with core processor 3.0 Ghz 8 with 25 MB of l3 cache, there are more hearts but also about l3 cache memory.
