Program elements trapped under menu task
When I open my items to program the upper part of the window to reduce and max and escape is hidden behind the menu top spot on my Mac. I can change the window slightly by dragging on the corners, but it is not "move". For this reason, I see that half of my screen of the program. How can I get my window items returned under my MAC task menu. I have been searching and searching for an answer and haven't found one for WHY it happened or how to fix it. Help, please!
Since your using a mac operating system, it is probably more appropriate.

I have hesitation that the xp/vista way organizes the start menu/task bar, so I use classic windows btw. Sometimes when I click programs on the start menu, task bar hotkeys, nothing happens (unresponsive for 1 ~ 2 seconds) which is disturbing. I tried the fix from microsoft for the absence of reaction for a long period of time, but I already said. Someone knows how to fix this?

Please tell us how can I remove programs from the Start Menu. In other words, I seem to have many programs starting to run, when I start my PC.
Thank you
Try this program to change the start:

This utility, which has a knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs configured to run at system startup or login and that the entries in the order of processing windows. These programs include those in your startup folder, Run, RunOnce, and other registry keys. You can configureAutoruns to show other locations, including Explorer shell, toolbar extensions, helper objects to the browser, Winlogon notifications, auto and many start-up services even more. Autoruns goes way beyond the MSConfig utility bundled with Windows Me and XP.

I just noticed several new programs in the Start Menu I have ever heard, I installed. When I went to my Control Panel programs and features, he had about 7 different entries under ARCSOFT with the same date. That day, I was installing a Kodak EasyShare software for a digital camera. Later, I uninstalled the EasyShare software. Could the Arcsoft programs have been installed with Kodak EasyShare software and is it possible to uninstall all ARCSOFT programs? Thank you
Yes Arcsoft is included with Easy Share software

After the upgrade to Firefox 3.6.12 features appear to be intact. Then, after a few days he lost the ability "page forward" or "back" and are "grayed out". In addition, the elements of main menu like File, Edit, View, history, Favorites, tools, and assistance are also grayed out and non-functional.
In addition, the "search engine" does not search, search the Web should be made since then in the URL window instead, for some reason any crazy. If the URL window is empty when I enter a search in the search window, the following text appears in the URL window, "bookmarks and search history", which makes no sense.
In the past, I've noticed similar complaints in this Forum, but I have not seen any resolution posted these questions. Is there a solution?
Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.
See basic troubleshooting: a new profileThere may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "tools > Modules > Extensions & Plugins»
If this new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

I was recently given a hand computer (compaq I tthink) so I'm not clear about all the fancy stuff to the extent of the ect CPU... but I know it has windows xp pro. in any case, a friend used my computer and for some reason any felt the need to download a program called 7-zip. Now, my computer is screwed... In the start menu > all programs, everything has disappeared! And I can access the system restore in normal boot and safe mode, but the window remains empty, we never really gave me the opportunity to use it. Oh and I can't get online in normal or safe boot mod either, what can I do?
Original title: how to get rid of a virus on windows xp proremove a virus from windows xp pro
Hello
1. Why do you think that the computer is infected with the virus? See you pop - unwanted ups or odd behavior of all programs?
2 have you made any changes to the computer before the show?
3. did you run any online scanners to remove infections?
4. What is the antivirus installed on the computer program?
Method 1: Run a scan antivirus on your computer.
www.Microsoft.com/Security/Scanner
Note: If infections are detected during the scan, there is a risk of data loss because infected files will be deleted.
Method 2: Safe mode with networking
Step 1: Check if you can browse the Internet with success in Mode safe mode with networking.
Networking Mode safe mode starts Windows in mode safe mode and includes the network drivers and services needed to access the Internet or other computers on your network.
A description of the options to start in Windows XP Mode
Step 2: Put the computer in a State of boot is a way to know which application is causing this problem.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.
Step 1: Follow the steps in the link below to do the same thing:
How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State
Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as shown here:
Step 2: To configure Windows to use a Normal startup state
After you have used the boot is a way to solve your problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.
- Click Start and then click Run.
- Type msconfig and click OK. The System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.
- Click the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.
- When you are prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.
Method 3:
Create a new user account and verify if you are able to access the program in the start menu.
Try to connect with a different user has administrator rights account and then create a new user account.
For more information, see these links:
How to create and configure user accounts in Windows XP

I hope this helps.

Every thing seems to have returned to normal, but when I restarted my computer all the icons on my desktop and all programs in the start menu disappeared, and yet, all programs are always in: Control Panel > add/REMOVE programs. I can still connect to the internet by going to-Start > my computer > view > go to the desktop. How to get back all the icons on my desktop. I tried a click right, but in vain. I also ran a scan complete antivirus. any help would be appreciated.
Thank you Joel S. Before I could put your advice into practice a friend recommended a friend who advised me to do a system restore, which he said he would be happy to do it for me. So look like an easy option, I agreed. It seems to have solved the problem (fingers crossed), but now it seems that I need to format the hard drive. If you have any tips on formatting hard drive I'm all ears. Thank you Owen

My computer crashed the other day. I returned with a system restore. I have scanned for viruses. Now most of my icons (computer desktop and folders) is grayed out. When I click on "all programs" in the start menu, none is listed even though they are still on my computer and still work.
Hi homeWJ,
Method 1
See the Microsoft article below to download and install the fix, check if it helps.
When you point to "Programs" on a Windows XP-based computer, the program list does not appear, or the list of programs is empty
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/941248
Method 2
If the previous step fails, then analyze and remove any malware or computer virus infections and check if that helps.
http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
You can also use Microsoft Security databases to scan your computer

lost all my programs from the start menu, a
lost all my programs from the start menu, favorites as all my photos and docs. Can I get them back thanks for any help,
What did you do last before this happened?
It looks like someone may have maliciously tampered with your computer.
Take a look in your trash and see what you can find.
If they are not there, try to download and run this program:
http://download.CNET.com/Recuva/3000-2242_4-10753287.html
He'll pick up things that have been deleted from the Recycle Bin.
Be forewarned, it will probably work for a long time.
Hope this helps

After installing a program, the program on the start menu folder is empty.
After installing a program, the program on the start menu folder is empty. Here is my problem for the last 3 months, I got a problem with the installation of programs on my newest PC is Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2. After Installation the problem is that when I go to start and all programs folder menus and switch to this folder the last installed Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2, the program shows as empty folder. I can't run anything in the menu start all programs. Other small programs that I installed, I was able to start the program to find the exe to start and worked with it by starting the program example start.exe start. When I start sqlservr.exe manually from C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL server\MSSQL10_50.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\Binn it comes up with a black screen and a small window which I don't know that I do not get the appropriate permissions on the files it needs to run. C: Program Files and c: data files have corrupted permissions or other files are corrupt is there a way to reset these permissions back to their original condition or what else is happening here? Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance. Here is the link to the file error.log on installing SQL Server, I hope this helps. https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=B230D50BE87FE76E! 103 & authkey =! ADolb-9ezWKwNsE

Try a system restore to a Date before the problem began:
Restore point:
http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/
Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.
Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.
Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...
Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.
http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm
Read the above for a very good graph shows how backward more than 5 days in the System Restore Points by checking the correct box.

Missing programs in all programs on the start menu in Windows 7
I have Windows 7 Home Premium SP 1 installed on my laptop. In recent weeks, I noticed that a lot of programs have disappeared from all programs in the start menu. If I dig up the program on my HARD drive so I'm able to find but it causes a lot of problems that the programs are not visible in all programs. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the reply!
Yes, I had most of the programs listed in there, but some programs were missing...Such as PowerPoint and Word, etc were missing from the list of all programs...So what I did that I dragged the original MS Office program into the specified folder...I guess that is not automatic!
