Program on Windows XP problems

I just renewed my antivirus AVG to 2012 - 2013 of the AVG, and each scan detects now 3 infected files that are all "signed with a digital signature broken, issued by Microsoft Corporation."  AVG told me to inform Microsoft about this problem, and that's what I tried to do, but so far without success.  How to contact Microsoft to inform them of this problem, because I was in charge?

  • The program cannot start because MSVCR110.dll is missing on your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem - Windows 7

    Hello

I installed a program in Windows 7 and I can't start it because it appears: "the program can't start because MSVCR110.dll is missing on your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. I looked for answers and I found that I can install this http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679# (Visual C++ Redistributable Packages). In this connection, there are 3 files to download: VSU_4\vcredist_x64.exe, VSU_4\vcredist_x86.exe and VSU4\vcredist_arm.exe. My question is which file should I download or if I have to download each of them. How can I know which one I need to upload?

    Can someone help me please?

    Thank you

    Sebastian.

    VCRedist_x64 is for 64-bit systems.

    Vcredist_x86 is for 32-bit systems.

If you are running Windows 7 32 bit, just install the x 86 version.  If you have Windows 7 64-bit, you may need to install the x 64 and x 86 version. First try the x 64. I f it does not work, install the x 86 version as well.

vcredist_arm.exe is for devices using ARM processors which are compressed as the Microsoft Surface.

  • Former installation problem program under Windows 7 64-bit

I installed the 64-bit Windows 7, but I need to run some old software, for which I have a CD. (Actually I think it is 16-bit. Well, I know it's a dinosaur, but this is my situation.) Naturally, setup.exe is also 16-bit (perhaps 32 bits, but I doubt it). There is a shortcut to setup.exe on my desk, by double-clicking on it, I get this message:

The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are using. Check your computer's system information to see if you need a x 86 (32 bit) or x 64 (64-bit) version of the program and then contact the software publisher.

He ran very well under Windows XP 32-bit, and I don't remember doing something special for 16 bit then; I know that much. (I'm sure I'd remember something special like that, if I had). Microsoft program compatibility issues resolution isn't going anywhere.

How do I enter a 32-bit emulator environment and double-click the shortcut (or setup.exe itself) from there?

32-bit W7 can run older 16-bit programs (a little) more

If you have an eligible version of W7, you may be able to get the program running in XPMode or install Virtual Box and if you run an old copy of XP or W7 32-bit (assuming it's free with a free license, etc.) in that.

Or maybe make a system dual-boot W732 (or XP) and W764.

If it is a DOS program rather than an old Windows program, it can run into something like DOSBOX

  • Incompatible program, I have a problem with my ancestry Family Tree Maker program 2012

I have problems with my ancestry Family Tree Maker 2012 program.  I have contacted ancestry and have tried everything they suggested a fix.  Maybe they thought THAT FTM crashed in windows.  When I click on the FTM icon on my desk a message appears indicating that FTM was badly closed the last time.  He suggests to compact the file, but I can't get open FTM to do this.  The message keeps telling me that Windows has detected a problem and he'll let know me if a solution is found.  When I right click the icon FTM the menu has "inconsistent application" at the top.  When I used the resolution of Windows problems he also indicated an incompatible application.  FTM was working great for me.  Inproper closing was caused by a power failure while I was with FTM.  My computer is a lot of work and is common to the updates being FTM.

  • Restore Windows XP problems

I'm having problems to restore Windows XP with service 3, whenever I go to the station Windows, Windows tells me that nothing has changed. Can someone help me with this problem

Unfortunately, the implementation of MS Answers forums does not prompt for any information system when a new question is asked, so we don't know anything on your system.

Not knowing the basic informations of a problem prolongs the frustration and the agony of these issues, but that's the way they choose to turn things around here.

Thank you owners MS Answers, continue to make solving simple problems as frustrating and a lot of time as possible.

What is your system brand and model?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE), McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, Comodo, PC Tools, etc.

What is the issue that you are experiencing that you think that the system restore will be remedied (or you are just convenient)?  Remember that the system restore is not a time machine.

Have you ever used the system restore to restore your system in the past?

Describe exactly what happens when you try to perform a system restore and the error messages you see which indicates that it does not work (some thing besides 'it does not work").

Some tools Anti Virus 'protect' your system so that they will not allow a restore of the system work properly.

For example, if you use Norton/Symantec products, you will see a message like this:

Restoration incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored...

It is also a popular Symantec problem (well, I'll be polite and call an "undocumented feature"...), they wrote an article about it:

    https://support.Norton.com/SP/en/us/home/current/solutions/v51118464_EndUserProfile_en_us?product=home&version=1

According to what you use for malware protection, you may need to disable the product temporarily, do the system restore and then turn the products light up again when the system restore is complete.

Sometimes you need start your system in Mode safe and so that your protection programs are not running, and then do the system restore.  Tips from Microsoft in some of their articles that if the system restore does not restore your computer, start in Safe Mode, and then run the system restore.  It works for some configurations.

Note that if you do a Safe Mode system restore, you will not be able to cancel it and there is no option on the System Restore screen for "Undo my last restoration" as you would if you were to restore your system from a normal startup.

Give these ideas some consideration if they apply to you.

Sometimes malicious will afflict your system restore to prevent you to find and remove malware.  It would much rather you trick into thinking that you need to repair or reinstall your XP when it is not necessary.

No matter what you use for protection against malware, I do so and then only begin to solve any problems:

Download, install, update, and make at least a full scan with these free malware detection programs can solve any problems:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

It can be uninstalled later if you wish.

The scans by operating clean, reboot, test and we can fix any other issues.

System Restore is sometimes so afflicted or Restore Points are suspicious, the best solution is to reinstall your system restore.  This will remove the old Restore Points, but sometimes it's the only way to fix a broken system restore.  You don't have to reinstall XP, only the part of system restore.

That can leave you with your problem of unspecified origin that you hope the system restore will fix (using a system restore is usually not equivalent to fixing the problem though).
