Program Windows key shortcuts

Hi, I use the Windows key + shortcut number to quickly open programs pinned to my taskbar in Windows 7. It of maybe me being stupid, but how do I open a program with a number greater than 10? I have more than 10 programs pinned to the taskbar, but when I try to enter a number for the program of the 11th or plu it does not work. There must be a way to quickly open over only 10 surely pinned programs? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Simon

Windows key + T will take you to the taskbar, the icon of the extreme left.

End takes you to the icon at the right.

Left and right arrows will change the icon selected in the bar.

The Application key is equivalent to right click on the selected icon. Up and down arrow keys will change the selected option in the menu of the icon.

Enter, when an icon or option is highlighted, launches the application.

  • The keys Home and end no longer work when I enlarge the program window

As I'm editing, I often use the 'home' and 'end' keys on my keyboard extended to the beginning of the sequence, that I'm editing, or to jump to the end (I use the "home" button more often, but I always use 'end' from time to time).

This behavior works as I expect when I have the window of editing 'active' (by clicking on it). The behavior works even when the program window is active, which is very useful. (And because the source window has a different content, I'm not surprised that it interprets the keys start and end for this image, which is also useful also.)

The problem for me arises when I want to watch my full screen in the sequence and use the key to accent grave ('), alias the tilda (~), in order to maximize the window of my program. Now my image fills the screen and I can watch my sequence down to maximum resolution. But when I get to the end and want to come back at the beginning, the 'home' key does not work. I have to shrink the window until the key will bring back me at the beginning of the sequence.

This bothered me for so long that I was editing in first, but I have never taken the time to see if anyone has a solution to this problem. Does anyone know how to make this work because I expect to? If having a keyboard shortcut to the beginning of the sequence is useful when you work with a screen that shows all the windows, the keyboard shortcut would be even more useful when you do not see what you are doing?

Is this a bug? Can I ask it as a feature in the next update? Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thank you!

Activate the program monitor before switching to fullscreen (~).

  • When you try to start the programs of their shortcuts, I always get a window MS-DOS pop up

When you try to start the programs of their shortcuts, I always get a window MS-DOS pop up.  The header says 16-bit subsystem MS_DOS.  For example, when you try to start Microsoft Word, the message says:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Menu demarrer\programmes\microsoft Office\Microsoft Office Word 2003.lnk program invalid file name, please check your pif file.

I can start the program by clicking on any document in my documents file, however.  I know that something is messed up in the registry (we had a bad worm (MS Removal Tool).  However, I can't a registry cleaner to open.  I used a WinXP_EXE_Fix.reg to try to fix the missing exe file.  He has set a number of things, but still will not let me run a registry clean.

    Try the following steps:

    1. follow the steps from the link below: cannot open files with extensions such as.exe, .com, and.lnk on a Windows XP computer: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923077

    2. online virus scanner and check if any malware or virus detected on the computer activity. You can run the scan for viruses online from the link below: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

    Hello

You can use the Ctrl + ESC key to simulate the Windows key, however, it does not work with a lot of shortcuts Windows default key. Sometimes you can press the ESC key first followed by the CTRL key over a shortcut key to make it work, but a large part of the functionality is lost.

I have not tested Windows 7 remains to be seen what works and what does not.

You can see the current list of shortcuts to Windows key at the following link.

    Windows logo keyboard shortcuts

Of course, you can also create shortcuts to certain functions and assign your own shortcut in the properties of the shortcut key.

    I hope this helps.

Thank you for using Windows 7

Have you tried to do the restore of the system in SafeMode as stated in my answer 1 to you?

    If it doesn't/does not work:

If you do not want to repost in the Windows Update Forum (they are the specialists it for the best advice regarding your problem), make this disc Bootable startup repair and use it to do a system restore or uninstall the updates by using the method 2nd in my 1st reply:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

CTRL-Alt-Del does not bring upward the more after XP Task Manager - it brings up a different menu options:

  • Windows key does nothing the first time I press it

I was wondering about this since a long time. I use a lot of keyboard commands, especially the Windows key + R, to open the Run dialog. But I noticed that if I didn't hit the Windows key for a long period, say, maybe 10 minutes, the key won't do anything the first time that I hit him. I have to hit it twice in order for the start menu appears. Then only, the Windows key work immediately, assuming I'm not too long without support. This is normal behavior in Windows? It is certainly not a problem with my keyboard because the same thing is happening with my old keyboard and my brand new one that I just got. Is it possible to fix this? It's really annoying not being able to depend on one of your keys and having to hit twice as if to say, ' I really want you to open the start menu now Windows!

Thank you, Stephanie. I tried a clean boot and the Windows key worked continuously as it should. One, back, I added my services and startup programs and tested the key. There are several non-Microsoft services that were previously activated, such as those related to my iPod or Nero, I left off. My Windows key still works normally. I don't know who services, has been the cause of the problem, but at least it seems to be resolved for now. Thank you!

  • Windows 7 - Windows key or Alt + Tab does not

I have Windows 7 Home Edition, and suddenly my Alt + Tab feature has stopped working.  I use it regularly, so I don't know what I did to disable.  In addition, my Windows (the one next to the left Alt key) key stops working to bring up the Start Menu.

The Windows key still works because when I press Windows + 3, it loads Google Chrome because it is the third in the taskbar...  Tab key works alone as well I use it to switch between the boxes username and password on log ons.
I can't do not also appear in the windows program by clicking on the icons in the taskbar, taskbar icon won't turn on and flashes, but the actual program window is not pop up. I have to press the Desktop button on the right side of the taskbar to minimize everything and then bring up the desired program window.
I've been shooting a few changes to my Windows 7 because I wanted to accelerate and I followed this Web site: http://www.computingunleashed.com/speed-up-windows-7-ultimate-guide-to.html
I was also disabling some of the Start Up programs and services to speed up / save the battery power.  Is there a specific Service Microsoft need to Alt Tab functionality and the Windows key to work?
    Thanks in advance.
    Hello
    • Is it on laptop or desktop?
If it happens on the desktop, you can try to connect the keyboard to the computer of differnet and check.

If it happens on your laptop, you can try to create a new user account and check. If it works in a new user account, then probably your user account have been damaged and would need a fix.

    Now search for the question.
Follow the link provided below to fix the damaged user profile.

  • MS natural 4000 - how to reallocate right 'application' is coming back to regular Windows Key?

I have a Microsoft Natural ergonomic Keyboard 4000.  I use the MS Intellitype version 8.2 software, and the keyboard is connected to a PC running Win 7 x 64.

I want to reassign the Application key (i.e. between the CTRL alt right) to behave like a key of Windows (as the key between the left ctrl and alt keys).

    When I go to:

Start/Programs/Microsoft keyboard and choose "Microsoft keyboard", I can access the key parameters and find the Application key.  When I select it and choose Configure, I don't have that one option - disable the application key.  If I turn it off, pressing the button does nothing, but give me a little warning telling me what it is... disabled.    The «Assign/manage Macro» key... "is grayed out.

Any suggestions on how to configure the key to behave like a regular Windows key?

Just do a Google search for a program called "KeyTweak".  I had the same desire to change the very key to behave as if it were a windows key.  And this program allows you to literally that - it is, however, change registry keys so make sure that you save a backup copy of your registry keys before making any changes.  I hope this helps.

Note that you can work with two screens and drag and drop the image to display on the other window.

I think you mean working temporarily with the window enlarged image without displaying all the tools and panels.

    See:

Panels and bins in Photoshop Elements

My advice: take the time to read the above help and especially to look at ways to maximize this window if you are on Mac or Win.

Set your preferences in the Edit menu to "allow the floating windows in expert mode.

Use the "tab" on the keyboard key to hide or show your panels and tools quickly.
