programs not opening on startup?

at startup, the following programs still open: Messaging, photoshop, illustrator, indesign, spotify.

However, this morning, he decided to open only spotify. and at startup, the imac emitted noise strong "awakening to the top", which he never does.

I haven't changed all parameters - so I'm just confused why he behaves like that.

any ideas appreciated...

FWIW, you should hear the startup chime whenever you start unless something is broken.

In regard to applications starting at startup, the "reopening windows when you connect in" should be checked when you stop and, of course, you can't leave programs first.

  • "c:\program files" opens at startup.

Hi all, thank you in advance for your help.
I am running win xp home edition.  When I boot the dir 'c:\program files' opens automatically.  Note that I do not mean c:\program files\common files.  the dir, who opens is "c:\program files" with three word in the dir documents.  so my question is sorta twofold. Why what is happening and how to stop it from happening?  Thanks again, Chris

It works like a charm for this problem.
I want to offer thanks to a hacked Silbylaw guys for this fix.

"And well, here's the deal. You have this stupid coming folder when you start?

    C:\Program Files\Fichiers

The reason is that the registry is reading through the entries and as the previous poster said, there is no quotes around C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec\... etc.

whats going to happen, is that windows will read the value until it can load this thing his tent to load (in this case, you want to load ccapp.exe or something else).

BUT here's the big thing, it will read until it CAN open something (if your value is not in brackets).

In this case, it is open C:\Program Files\Common because he got to that part of the value and said ' OK, well, I can open this folder! It is this value that finished playing! »

Now, the thing is, this folder C:\Program Files\Common does not usually exist and honestly has NO purpose! It is empty. Delete it! This is what caused the problems.

I did a test with this, I got a computer that works very well with Norton and everything, then I simply created a folder named C:\Program Files and did a reset.

All of a sudden wasn't Norton, and the folder popped up at startup.

Delete the folder, reset, things worked fine.

Add quotes to the registry values is a fix, but it is only temporary. What happens when you install several programs and they have values not in square brackets, in C:\Program Files\Common Files\... etc? The same problem will occur.

This is not unusual as far as I can guess. If you have created a folder named C:\Program then you'd have the same problem, but this time a fodler called C:\Program would open at startup, and all of your registration keys starting with C:\Program Files\... etc startup fails.

So in conclusion, the problem is not norton or your firewall, or everything you think it can be. Your unlisted registry values are normal, they will work on a computer without the strange folder.
The problem lies in the way the bed registry values of unlisted registry and this being combined with a folder that has no purpose and screw everything up. (C:\Program Files)
I have accumulated my brain for about an hour with this problem, and after doing some research and experiments, it is my last conclusive answer.

CAUSE: Setup created Sloppy 'C:\Program Files' for no reason

SOLUTION: Delete the folder "C:\Program Files". Leave your registry database as it is! »

  • Programs-not 'Open with screen' opens when I click on them.

    Hello

If I open my "My Documents" folder and open a document Word etc they open well. I searched the Microsoft Web site and used the difficulty he 50194 for exe files, but it didn't work.

Can someone please suggest anything else.

    Thanks :)

    Hi Bails80,

This occurs when the default program has been changed. You can make the default programs using set Associations.

    1. open default programs by clicking the Start button, click default programs.

    2. click on associate a type of file or Protocol with a program.

    3. click on the file type or protocol that you want the program to act as the default value.

    4. click on program change.

    5. click on the program that you want to use by default for the selected file type, or click the arrow next to other programs to show other programs. (If you don't see other programs or your program is not listed, click Browse to find the program you want to use, and then click on Open. ) If no other programs are installed that are able to open the type of file or Protocol, your choice will be limited.)

    6. click on OK.

  • programs not open window

I can not open Task Manager, and also my favorite programs while there my computer displays no error and continusly to fetch

    Hello

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forums.

According to the description, it seems that you are having problems with the Task Manager and also the programs installed on your computer. I will certainly help you in this matter.

    (1) do you use Windows search to find installed programs?

    (2) have you tried to open the programs to start > all programs?

    (3) have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

If the Task Manager does not start, your computer may be a virus. Make sure that you have installed an up-to-date antivirus software on your computer and then search the Microsoft Web site for the latest virus information. If your computer does not have a virus and you are connected to a network, see your system administrator to find out if the task manager has been disabled on your computer.

Step 1: I suggest you to see link and check if it helps.

Troubleshoot Task Manager (applies to Windows 7)

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-Task-Manager-problems

    For Manager job number:

Method 1: I suggest you to download and run the latest Microsoft security on the computer Scanner and check if it helps.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Note: there could be a loss of data while performing an analysis using the Microsoft safety scanner to eliminate viruses as appropriate.

    For the research question:

Method 2: I suggest you follow the steps to run the troubleshooter from the link and if it helps.

Open the troubleshooter for search and indexing

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-search-and-indexing-Troubleshooter

Method 3: I have run the Microsoft FIXIT for the link, and also suggests.

Difficulty of Windows Desktop Search when it hangs or no display of results

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_search/en-us

I hope this helps. Try the above steps and get back to us for further assistance if you have questions about the Windows operating system. We will be happy to help you.

  • Programs loaded in a working session are deleted or not open at startup windoows then. How can I stop this happening

First of all. a computer program entry that appears as an Internet Explore Managed Add-on, when the first installed is indicated as such but, after having stopped at the next startup shows that it removed from the list of managed add-ins, even if the program appears again in all programs.

Second, I use Norton Internet Security, and recently its icon has disappeared from the notification bar. Center of action reported to the program as always 'on '. But NIS would not start/desktop icon launch and I got the C:/Program Files(x86) /Norton InternetSecurity/Engine64/20.2.019/uistub.exe notice

    unspecified error

When Norton Autofix came he reported an error 8504. 104 and advised that I went on the symantec site, which I did.

A representative of Norton reinstalled the program and everything worked perfectly. But two days I noticed the icon is again missing from the notification bar, and the program does not start.

I also recently suffered windows not start (blue screen, etc.). Repair and recovery made a restore.

If all this is connected? If so what is the problem with my PC?

Otherwise, even once, what's wrong with my PC?

I would like to use the tool on their site to completely, remove & uninstall Norton

  • Surface Pro 4: program not opening not normally

I use the Palm Desktop by ACCESS Version 6.2.2 on several computers, including this 10 Surface Pro 4 Windows and two machines to Windows 7.   I do any changes on this computer, and when I want to have other classes, I just copy the file with all my data and place it on other machines.   I used the program normally and after closing, I again had a need to open it later.   This time when I opened it, I get a message saying "some components required for playback and editing of video clips are not installed.  Please install WMP/DirectX and QuickTime from Apple on the Web"

This message never came.  When I click on the 'X' or the OK button, the program opens, but none of my information is available.  When I click on 'Tools', then 'Options' and then click on the arrow to the right of the starting application, the only choice is 'Media' on other computers, the startup application is listed as 'Agenda' even if there are other choices, including address book, task list, Notepad and media.

I've never done the changes the media to start my application and have no idea how it happened.   Someone there other recommendations that the copy of my data file, remove the program and put it back, after which I can exchange my account data for the one created when I reinstall?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Two suggestions-

1 perform a "clean uninstall" of Palm Desktop (after backing up your data), then reinstall it.  The best way to back up data is to use the 'Export' function in Palm Desktop.

2 follow these steps to make the Palm Desktop to open mode "Run As Admin" every time that:

To run as administrator every time:
Right click on the desktop icon of Palm
    Click on properties/compatibility
The area of level of privilege check run this program as administrator, click OK.

  • laptop screen does not open at startup

I have a hp pavilion g6. When I press the power button I hear cooler work, in the keyboard lights are normal, the hard disk is turned on but the screen is black, not clear at all. I got it to a technician and he told me that there is a problem with motherboard and bios (personally I don't think he had any idea what the problem was). He told me to send it to hp but I need as soon as possible. I tried to press the power button for 30 sec with no cable and the battery but nothing. There is also no sound from windows startup. I tried to connect with another screen, but also nothing. Please I need help fast.

Well, to me this looks like your motherboard as well.

Here is why I say that you are not able to access the bios menu, I hope you have tried several times to enter this menu. You also tried hook laptop up to a second monitor, normally if it just a screen and then issue you would still get an image on the screen.

Also if it was a problem with the graphics yet would you be able to access the bios menu, only the bios menu uses only the basic drivers needed.

This computer you will need to fix it so that the issue to be decided. If you are still currently covered by warranty I would recommend contacting HP support service. Their number is 800-474-6836.

Please answer as soon as possible.

    Thank you

  • Open at startup programs

How can I find out what programs are open at startup? I suspect that there may be some spyware as I often get the message that windows needs expand what that, and I don't remember getting that so often before going online to Garmin to update my GPS. The site said it is necessary to download another program first, but I do not remember what was this program. Think it could be something with 'Net' in the name,

Download and run the program "autoruns".  It will show you what is aligned to the top to run at startup

I am running Vista Home Basic. When I click on the Start button, click programs, right-click the startup folder, and then clickOpen it does not open the startup folder. Instead, it opens a search window Active legends. How can I fix?

Go to the startup folder and right-click on it and click Proprties and then click on the location and enter C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup.  Click OK.  When you click Open the next time it should now open the folder that corresponds to your startup folder.

    I hope this helps.

Click Start, and type Windows Defender, and then the . Click on tools, and then click Software Explorer. It opens for you?
