  After you import a PPTX file in Captivate 7 it does not progress (to start) as it does in the PowerPoint slide.)  Is it a framework preventing PowerPoint?  All the slides in Captivate are without Action and go to the slide next and this even happens if No Action is changed to continue.  When published and go with the button next in Captivate, you arrive at a black screen.

• Status of the slides

  The only option for a progress bar that I see is the status of the completeness of the presentation. I would like to show to the learner progression of the current slide. Some of my slides have animations and some of them do not. It would be easy for learners to click through an animation slide without realizing there is an animation on the slide to look at. Is there a a way to clearly indicate that it is an animation of the slide by showing on the progress bar? or y at - it another way you used?

  Put the button later on the timeline is indeed a way to force the learner, but will not show the progression of the slide. As Andy points out, with the playback bar they can always move forward or even rub progress bar there.

  Only way I know to show the status of the timer widget, you can format it while it decrements the time of the maximum length of the blade of 0. So that the user knows when the slide is over.

  I have videos in my career, and I want to browse a progress bar, as well as videos on youtube. The bar of captivate grogress is relative the holes. I need a progress bar over the duration of the video or the time of the slide.

  Is there a way to make the bar compared to the slide, or maybe add a bar inside the slide"is relative to the time of the slide. I also thought to use the interaction of web object and put a web video player inside, but which player is best for captivate?

  You can insert videos as the videos of the event. The videos will have their own progress bar.

• How to prevent the progression of auto slide?

  Hi all

  I'm fairly new to Captivate and seeks to use it to develop a module of e-learning at the pace learning consisting of a number of slides. However, I find that when you use the PlayBar of Captivate, the slides automatically advance, where in fact what I want is the project to stop at each slide, allowing to the learner to press "back" or "forward" when they have finished reading the slide.

  I don't know that miss me something very obvious here, surely! If not, is there a way around it?

  P_SJ advice is spot on. However, I see where confusion could arise. What has been referred to as was 'click box. In Captivate, it's something we know as 'click box. In Captivate 4 you click Insert > Standard objects > click box. In earlier versions, you click Insert > click box.

  Note that once you insert a single click on a slide box and configure as needed, you can copy it into the Windows Clipboard. Then, select the remaining slides and paste into each of them at a time to save time.

  Just some thoughts...

  It may be useful if you are going to... Tools / Options / Compatibility tab...
  and uncheck all filters.

  Also... it might be a compatibility problem with your source files...
  (videos / photos / music files)

  Several formats are apparently compatible with
  Movie Maker, but the most reliable choices are:

  Photos - bmp
  Video - wmv or dv - avi
  Music - wma, wav, wmv

  Also... If it is a large complex project, you could have a system

• Captivate 9 - preview the slide entire chronology does not

  HI - Captivate and really stuck on a fairly new basis. So basic I couldn't find answers anywhere.

  My project has slides that work for different durations. I set by default to 20 seconds in the Preferences tab.

  But whenever I saw the project then it works for about 10 seconds and all animated to appear after that which is not.

  It's driving me crazy.

  If I play the chronology of slide everything works perfectly but not in preview (except "play Slide").

  I don't know if its a problem with the preview or my project, but it is a real stumbling block.

  Any suggestion or ideas appreciated.

  Unless there is an interactive object in the Group_29 that is not developed, there is no reason why this slide show only up to 10 dry. Another possibility would be an interactive object on the model of used slides, with a pause or an interactive object on a previous slide that is scheduled for the rest of the project. In both cases, you should see this object on the stage.

  BTW, slide Play isn't an overview, only way to synchronize objects like you did with the timing. If another preview of the method (the best are previews of browser) lead the slide stop somewhere, there should be a break. You can check in the preview if the progress bar in a PlayBar stops?

  Another less likely cause could be that the objects does not, are set to be visible in output: check the "eye" icon in the properties panel in top left.

• Audio does not pausing at the end of the slide

  Have a problem with the audio in a project where the user progresses to the next slide by using the next button. However, we recorded audio outside Captivate, saved as MP3 and dragged and deposited the corresponding MP3 files in the slides in the film.

  Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to offer.

  Be sure to leave a small space after and before each audio clip in the slide. This way Captivate will not hold account is a large audio file distributed over several slides.

  Another tip: don't compress to mp4, if you import audio clips to Captivate but keep the original wav files. Captivate will compress to mp3 at the time of publication. Look in the library, you'll probably find that Cp has created a wav from your mp3 file.

  Hi - end of the CBT I create, I present some challenge questions.  I do not use the Quiz feature that I have not need enter the student responses.

  I added a blank slide with an image with captions of reversal.  I added a "continue" button, then they can go to the next page, after they are made to review the image.

  Everything works fine, the breaks of slide, so they have time to right-click the image, and leads to the next page when you click on the button continue.

  The strange thing is that it also goes to the next page when I click anywhere on the screen.  This only happens on these three blades, the rest of my film does not progress when you click on the background.

  For the slide, I put it on enter = continue and exit = No Action display time = 3 seconds

  For the button continue, I put it on success = go to the next slide, attempts = 1, the last attempt = go to the next slide, break after = 1.1 s

  Anyone know why when I click on the slide, it goes to the next slide?  I want to slide to pause until it only the button is clicked.

  Your continue button is being set up so that if the learner does not click on the button action of the last attempt will be used.  By default it is to continue.  So while you want only the user to go to the next slide, if they clicked on the button, by setting attempts on 1, you said Captivate any click outside the button should invoke the action of breaking for this button, which will be to continue to the next slide.

  Try setting your button to the attempts of the infinite.  This disables the action of failure.

• Notes slide disappear at the end of the slide

  Thanks in advance to have a look at the following question:

  I am using Captivate 5 on Mac. Especially with speech synthesis. TTS works very well. It's the score of the slide. With skin controls I can switch between show and not the note of the slide presentation. But at the end of the slide, notes disappear. I need to stay, for learners can read the text, as long as they want. I tried to stop the slide with a button, but the note continues to be carried out. Otherwise, I created the individual buttons on a slide for the show and the other to hide a text caption. Works fine, but the slide without the option to stop progress. Next alternative is to use advanced actions. That works very well to show and hide the text, but there is a lot of work for all slides. Is there a better way? Ideally, I would like to use the skin, toggle the button show-no view, and the text remains at the end of the slide.

  Side note: the neospeech and loquendo TTS are great. I would hope that Adobe offers more licenses speech soon.

  Just right click on the layer of the audio file of any slide with audio and select subtitling in the context menu.  In Cp5 there is also a button for captioning on the slide Notes tab.  If you selected slide Notes text CC, this button should be active.

  You need to break lines of text, as shown in the slide Notes Panel.  You will need to use some trial and error to find how many words you can fit on a single line with your specific font settings.  The timing is completely controlled in the Audio dialog box slide by dragging the markers for each line of text is displayed.  These markers determine where on the audio track each line appears in the CC text panel during execution.

• Problem reading the slides

  I'm having a problem when I play a slide (either by using the SPACEBAR or F3). When I press the space bar, the Red progress line becomes very agitated and jumps. The problem occurs in each slide in that one particular file.
  
  The file has been recording with:
  
  Create another type of film - Virgin movie
  callout text boxes are Transparent or Cosmos font Arial.
  audio is recorded directly in the callout text boxes (CD quality)
  the first slide uses a legend of animating text using the font Bodoni Poster, size 48
  almost every slide has a Transparent using fonts Bodoni Poster, size 24
  Cadence is 30
  and the images are either simple copy and glue paint or .jpgs.
  
  I have saved a number of lessons and have never encountered this. Most of the lessons I've recorded previously were new movie Record - full screen and not create another type of film - Virgin film.
  
  There seems to be no performance issues when the video is played, just during playback of the slide - it's time a pain.
  
  I am using Captivate version 1.
  
  Any help or idea would be highly appreciated.

  I discovered the source of the problem!

  My legend text boxes are Transparent. If I use another type, the slide is fluid but it hiccups to Transparent.

• My Ipad 2 does not recognize anyones tap/fingertips. The slide will not work, I can not turn off course because you need to slide once again to confirm. Need help!

  Have you tried a soft-reset/reboot? Press and hold sleep and home for 10-15 seconds (ignore the "slide to turn off"), after which the Apple logo should appear and it should restart

• Firefox 17.0.7. Display the menu, when you are using extended view (Win7), flickers off when you move the slider to a selection. Reg FF version works fine.

  Using Windows 7, view extended., Firefox 17.0.7

  Firefox menus (file, editing, etc.) and user bookmark lists flicker in and out of visibility when you move the slider to a selection. This happens on the primary display only the second screen. It does not occur on regular product version (23, etc.) and does not occur on any other application.

  We are required to use version 17 on internal business machines.

  Bob Hello, that might be a problem with hardware acceleration - try updating your graphics driver, or in case this does not solve the problem, or there is no new version available at the time, disable hardware acceleration in firefox > options > advanced > General.
