Has anyone encountered a problem where the screen flickers power on and off? Mine will Dim to the point where you can't see whats happening and then back to normal.

I tried a restore drivers, but the problem persisted. I did also check complete anti-virus (I realize that it was probably not the cause of the problem, but decided to be complete). I was thinking that it's purely a hardware problem, like when I use an external monitor connected through a HDMI cable I don't have this problem.

I guess it must be a problem with the connection between the screen and the motherboard. Maybe a problem within the hinge where they cross connection.

Anyone got any other suggestions until I sent it off for repair (only he got in March and I have a 2 year warranty, but who goes back to college soon and do not want to be without him).

    I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro C50 - A - 1 k 9.

    Thanks in advance.

I agree with you, Fraser and think it could be hardware related issue but I don't in any way you can fix it alone. Your laptop must be controlled by the Toshiba service provider.

Contact the nearest service provider for Toshiba in your country, explain the situation and ask for help.

    Hi Ron68PB,

    1. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?

2 are you able to open other programs?

    3. do you get error messages or error codes?

    Method 1:

You try to run a SFC scan to check the corrupted system files.

You can read the following article to launch the SFC scan:

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

    Method 2:

Alternatively, you can try to check if the problem occurs in safe mode.

  • Windows 7 - Live Photo Gallery Screen Saver - filename option, the peak, freezing and will not sleep

I just upgraded from Windows XP. There are a few features that I miss and I don't know if there is anyway to get.
    1. under XP, you might have the name of the file appears in the corner of the image when the screen saver is running. Really useful to find the photos you want to send or ID'ing the image. A way to get this feature in Win7?
    2. the key would freeze the current image. In Win7, he now wakes the computer. In any case to freeze the pictures in screen saver mode?
    3. not sure how much it is related to the screen saver, but the monitor and computer are both set to get to sleep after 1 hour. Happens. Even a day or two later, she is still ongoing.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Here is the solution.  Ssmypics.SCR of the copy of your old XP machine in the directory c:windows:system32 of Windows 7 machine.  then the old screen saver is available in settings.  has worked for me!

  • Windows 7 Home Premium switch user screen appears after that so much time has passed well that slowed after the SmileDesktop with screen saver is installed, but do not know how to stop it.

I used the selective startup to the Office of Smile, which replaces and updates the old Webshots Desktop, which includes the automatic download and auto downloads of images from their site as well as a screen saver.

There nothing good. rest after so many minutes I connect get back a windows screen does not cause me to lose any data or stop all processes. All running processes continue, but it's the nagging drawback of signing as myself to the computer after having been automatically set user to switch mode. It's probably the fault of this program. In addition, before this Webshots desktop update which included also a screen saver Windows update the eve told me don't not to unplug my computer and that she had to deal with several updates of windows, so I went and the computer stop moments later. The next day was when the message for an update has been waiting for the SmileDesktop program, which is a program that mimics Webshots Desktop, as well as replace the Webshots Desktop. After installed SmileDesktop automatically changed my screen saver settings that were on any mode SmileDesktop screen saver mode. I clicked on the option to disable screen saver. That's when I first noticed the screen splash appearing after that so many minutes of inactivity, change that said user and then I started to worry.
Norton has found no problem with my computer, and
    Finally, I gave up.

    Hello

Thanks for asking this question to Microsoft Community.

If I understand correctly, you want to disable the fast user switching option. Could you please answer a few questions before moving?

Since when are you facing the issue? Do you have any security program installed on the computer? How many accounts is configured on the computer? Have you done a recent software or changes to the material on the computer?

Here is an article that will help you to turn off the fast user switching option. Alternatively, you can uninstall Office to smile and check if it helps. You can also make the screen saver password that is built into Windows. Follow these steps:

    (a) open screensaver settings by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type screen saver, and then uncheck the box for password game screen.

Hope this information is helpful and let us know if you need more assistance. We will be happy to help.

    Hello JDG_SF, welcome.

These options are very likely controlled by your GP (Group Policy) settings on your domain. Due to the nature of the work of rights how administrative, there is no way to work around this problem, unless you have access to change group policy settings that affect all the machines on your network.

You would need to access or to change the settings of GP or find someone who already has access.

  • Power Options and reset randomly sleep mode settings.

It turns out that windows 7 will change ALL its parameters of power in itself! I'll let him sleep a few nights, come home and wake up... only to see my login screen. (I have the normally disabled option in power options). But all my work is always there, so the machine does not restart (or turn off and just resume hybrids) is for sure in s3. Power options check and everything is set crazy, not all back to the default values for either.

Thank you dewbert I've found that if I go to the command prompt by using 'powercfg' I was able to turn off all the power settings (I like mine to be always running until I want to turn off without exception) I disabled standby, hibernation and set to never turn off monitor and several other parameters. Here is a link to these parameters and so far no more problem.

  • lost hibernation startup command menu, why can't find it in the power options and enable the Hibernate?

  • Screen saver turns on and the keyboard or the mouse you want to start over.

I bought a HP Pavilion desktop computer PC p6-2016 and started to use December 10, 2011. It goes into screen save mode and won't wake up. The HP screen comes without office or on what I was working on. Some time it turns on and does not display Desktop. I have you turn off and on again (2 or 3 times) to operate. Help!

Make sure that you use the blue VGA cable OR white DVI cable to connect your pc to the screen. If both cables are connected, the pc can see the monitor as two different monitors, which can cause the behavior that you are experiencing.

You did the changes on your computer until the problem started?

    Try the following steps:

Step 1: disconnect any external devices and check if you can start the computer normally in safe mode.

Step 2: If the computer works normally in safe mode, then perform a system restore to restore the computer to an earlier point in time before the problem started.

  • Configuration with Speedtouch 5 x 6 and WRT54G

    Hello

    I have a WRT54G, I have an internet connection that is connected via a Modem Speedtouch 5 x 6.

I tried to configure my router wireless with automatic DHCP configuration, I can't access the internet.

Can someone please help me with this Setup, I'm pretty new in this.

When I'm connected to the internet through my wired connection th ipconfig looks like this:

Ethernet connection to the Local network card:

The connection-specific DNS suffix. : lan

    DNS servers...: 192.168.1.254
    NetBIOS over TCP/IP...: enabled

Thank you for all the advice I receive.

This is the IP address you get from your Modem. Then just do... Open an Internet Explorer browser page. In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 leave name empty username & password use admin lowercase... Once to connect to the Linksys router configuration Page... Below, you will see "Local IP address" will be: 192.168.1.1, you need to change to: 192.168.2.1. and click on save settings... and do the feeding Cycle... Disconnect the power from the router and Modem... wait 30 sec and seizure of power, the first Modem... again after waiting 30 seconds and connect the power supply to the router Linksys... and check if you are online.

  • Help with the 'SAVE AS' option

I can't do a right-click on a photo and have the option ' save under ' show up... if I right-click, the option is just not there.  Is this a problem in some sort of setting?  And if so where should I go to turn it on?

    Thank you, Whisper

    Whisper_53,

Assuming that this problem occurs when in Internet Explorer, it happens on all websites of a few?
As John said, you should be able to right click on the image and choose Save as. If you are unable to do it on some Web pages, it is likely that the web developer prevent you. It comes to the design of the web developer.
