Power Options and reset randomly sleep mode settings.

It turns out that windows 7 will change ALL its parameters of power in itself! I'll let him sleep a few nights, come home and wake up... only to see my login screen. (I have the normally disabled option in power options). But all my work is always there, so the machine does not restart (or turn off and just resume hybrids) is for sure in s3. Power options check and everything is set crazy, not all back to the default values for either.

I'm running Windows 7 x 64 Home Premium. This becomes extremely annoying to say the least... Can settle us this?

~ MG ~.

* Edit * I wanted to add that what happens on 4 computers in my friends home even. 2 desktop and 2 laptop computers and all are supported by a Windows Home Server all running windows 7 x 64 home.

Thank you dewbert I've found that if I go to the command prompt by using 'powercfg' I was able to turn off all the power settings (I like mine to be always running until I want to turn off without exception) I disabled standby, hibernation and set to never turn off monitor and several other parameters. Here is a link to these parameters and so far no more problem.

was one of the first things I did with my pc to get rid of norton delivered pre-installed (bitdefender I don't know) and use microshaft security essentials (mse) with no problem more his light and does all these pop-ups as avira and others. also, I went to the ms updates and set it to download, but let me decide when to install and for updates of device, I put that let me decide because I had that feature really get in the way to install things like the new graphics drivers, kept dang thing beat me to the punch!

  • m8200n crashes, blue screen, freezes, power light flashes blue in Sleep Mode!

Hello world! I have the HP m8200n and similar problems for a year now such as published by other people with the Black Out of the screens, screens blue and gel. I did a lot of game online lately and installed a video card, better food, added a GB of ram and a Blu - ray burner and also added some fans inside. I am still using the Windows Home Premium 32 bit OS that comes with it, and all the software is always up-to-date. Only thing I noticed what happens regularly is when the black screen, blue screens or freezing is usually just after I wake the computer from sleep mode. Then I usually attempt to restart it places several times until finally, it starts and works without any problem. Of course, I ran the diagnostics and all past. But just recently noticed when I put my computer into sleep mode, the front power led does not more change to amber color, it just flashes blue and turn off without reason. He always wakes normally when I move the mouse, and the blue light comes on and when I put it in mode 'sleep' it goes back to the blue flashing light. In addition, when I start to play online the rear case fan begins to spend a quick back and forth and then at normal speed. Usually, I try to blow and clean up so much dust that I can possibly do. But I wonder if these are all signs that my computer is about to fail completely? No matter how useful counsel that it would be VERY, VERY, very appreciated!  Thank you!

I have same m8200n and same night Mare, I pulled out one of the ram sticks first the left right and fixed it

  • Sleep Mode settings

I was wondering if there was a way to disable the mode "standby", only when the computer is idle?  Like say I want to play music on my laptop as I do in bed.  If I close the lid, it stops the music and goes to sleep.  I don't want to leave the lid open and having my bright computer screen shining at me all night.  Is there so one played to disable mode 'sleep', what kind of music?  Otherwise, I like the "standby".

    Thank you.

Ive already been to this Web page and through the configuration.  I don't want to not completely turn off mode 'sleep', I only turn it off when Im playing music, or by downloading a movie or something.  Its annoying to have to leave the lid open for all this.  But if the computer does nothing, IE play music or download, I want to go to sleepy.

If I have a playlist of music, I want to hear the music with the lid closed, but then I want the computer to get to sleep after the music is made play.

Sleep mode is turned on, or it is not. There is no gray area... Mike Hall MVP - Windows Experience http://msmvps.com/blogs/mikehall/

  • Power settings have changed and I can not open my power options.

I can't open my power options, and my laptop is somehow set to the screen to get dark every 2 minutes, even if I never got him to do. I tried opening the Control Panel, screen saver properties and the run menu. She will act as it starts to load for about 2 or 3 seconds then I get nothing. I really need to solve this problem, because my husband is deployed and it is difficult for my 2 year old to sit and have a video conversation with him. Thank you!

    Hello

    · What happens when you try to open the power options?

    1. I suggest you to update the drivers for devices on the computer. You can check the links for steps: how to manage devices in Windows XP: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283658

  • HP OfficeJet 3830: 3830 HP wireless printer is offline in "sleep mode" and don't wake up to print

I've just set up a HP OfficeJet 3830 as a printer connected to my network wireless domestic (Airport Extreme Base Station router 802.11ac wireless). I was able to print-out of my MacBook, but when the printer goes into sleep mode, it appears offline and unresponsive to print. I have to restart the printer for her to appear online and respond. The printer will be in the basement, so it would be very inconvenient down to reboot just to print it. Kind of defeated the purpose of a wireless printer. I tried to disable the sleep mode to see if it works, but sleep mode settings cannot be disabled in the printer preferences. I already spent 3 hours to solve this problem.

I contacted HP technical support to solve the problem. The person told me restore default settings and then unplug the power to the printer and the router wireless for 30 seconds. After restarting the router, then the printer, we have connected the printer to the network with a static IP address. Who did the trick. Even if the printer is in "sleep" for several hours, it has not disappeared in offline mode, as it is done before. Problem solved for now. Hope this helps others.

  • The words "Change settings that are currently unavailable" do not appear in my Power Options screen, where they should be in Vista

Is there a way I can do that these words appear where they should be in the screens following Power Options and so get me the concomitant feature, please?   I have the appropriate screen, but these words are missing.

I have a PC at home fully spec'ed and I sign as an administrator.

Mice / material / power options, the option ' allow the PC close this device to save power of "is grayed out and I believe that the two problems are devices-mice partner.

Thank you very much - problem now fixed.

Now, it seems that during the passage in full at least a fan switcehs ' Sleep' mode automatically and immediately.  Howvever, one or several fans, do not stop immediately but take several minutes, maybe 10 minutes, then turn off.

A guess is that the fan keeps going until it grows to donw temparteure CPU at a specified level.

While I do not know what one of the several suggestions you gave me was the one who fixed it but according to the, thank you as everything is now fixed.

    Thank you

PS: Looking sverel PCs I see that 'allow the PC turns off this mouse to stop the system"is ALWAYS grayed out.  I guess that its obsolete 'option '.

  • Reset parameters 'sleep' Vista/Gateway nv52

My company recently purchased 4 new gateway nv52 with edition vista Home premium.  We have a few tech questions.  1. computers will, randomly, reset the settings for the mode "Eve" of 'never sleep' for 30 minutes by default. It happens about twice a week.
    2. we are on a private wireless network to which when we save files stored on a computer file and then ordi1, 2, 3, 4 and then principal of backup.  Sometimes computer 3 will go into offline mode and no one can see the computer in the network map.  This will cause the file not to save on this computer or computers after that and cause the file backup computer to freeze.  We turn off this computer and the problem is solved.

    Hi jswanger,

Please use the forum for Support of Vista,

First, check your power options and assign a Performance profile on all computers.  Locate the properties of the network adapter in network and sharing Center, make a right click to open properties, switch to the last tab (power management) and make sure the box to allow the computer to turn off this device save energy is disabled.

Is your main computer, a server? or just a normal computer?
    What OS it runs?
Wireless network can be unreliable, sometimes, more Home Premium might not be the right OS for business use.  However, it sounds like your power options is enough to set up to keep a stable connection.  Additionally, make sure that printer sharing, file sharing is enabled and the file sharing Password Protection is disabled (ONLY if not necessary) in network and sharing Center.

After, I scream with a reset of the cache random ExpressCache in point 8.1 of Windows. Now, I found a solution for this problem.

Just disable fast start of Windows 8/8.1. Solved!
