  You will need to remove the password from the file (using Acrobat, not reader) before you can convert it to Word. To do this, choose file > properties, and then click the Security tab choose no security in the context menu of the security method and enter the password when you are prompted.

  I decided to do a little investigation when my curve 9320 I was using before I get my Z10. I supported it upward and wiping it on entering the password wrong 10 times.   I spent 3 hours on the phone this morning with the HP Technical Support. While the call cost me $35, it's probably money well spent. After trying all kinds of approaches to installation, we finally concluded that the villain was probably the combination of personal WPA2 to authenticate password on my network and the inability of the HP6840 printer (now almost 5 years) to support WPA2. Tech said that WPA2 wasn't around 5 years.

  So I have two options: delete the password completely and let my unprotected network, use a WEP password (which can create an Apple AirPort and the printer can recognize) or try a WPA password. However, it seems that the airport offer only WPA-Personal and WPA Enterprise, while the printer does not seem to accept the WPA.

  Even if I don't really relish change passwords again, it seems that WEP is the way to go.

  Hope this helps those trying to install old printers on the new networks.

  HDD password is not removable, as practical a point of view. Very persistent. I have a drawer full of hard drives protected by. The only thing you can do is to replace it, and even that will not work as the system could simply transfer the old password for the new hard drive.
