  • need help on modbus RTU: do not know the meaning of the other output registers

    Hi all

    I use LV 8.5, a programmer time & 1st novice LV to post msg in discussion, so please let me know if I missed something important.

    In any case, I'm 2 power meter data acquisition (1st is CPM-50 model, 2nd is MWH - 10, the two brand ADTEK). the Protocol of these devices are modbus RTU. I have two targets to:

    1 acquire data using RS - 485 (portable <-->meters of power)

    2. acquire data using ethernet (laptop <-->converter series/ethernet <-->meters of power)

    now I'm in the 1st part, I use the local brand USB-RS485 converter & I think that there is no problem in the port itself (past the loopback test). I create a program using LV samples Mo using w / these port settings: 9600, 8, N-1 as databit baud, parity, stop bit respectively (the same data format of the device: see page 17/42 of the manual). I use the query.vi series of MB that I customized to eliminate the error timeout 6101 (see attached photo).

    Problem: I can read the right data into the output register , but is located in the 5th element of the 1 d array. In the peak of the attached example, I'm currently reading the baudrate of the device (see manual pg 26/42: address 0102 h = 258 d). so I read the 9600 w/c is correct. I also had the correct readings of other addresses of parameter which is also located in the 5th element of the 1 d array. Note: I never tried to read data from power because the meters are not yet installed in the cabinets of power (maybe installed nextweek leave)

    Question:

    1. What is the significance of the first four output records in my table 1 d of output?

    2. why I got 5 output registers eventhough I'm asking only 1 quantity?

    3 read the correct data in the 5th element normal?

    I want to just be deleted in the data I read before jumping in part 2 (connection via ethernet). If I forgot some valuable information, let me know. Thanks in advance!

    Kind regards

  • The DasyLab11 Word data type

    Hello

    I'm trying to read a wattmeter with RS485 Modbus RTU output information I use the analog Modbus Module and I did the test of communication for her and the test is good, but after that I can read the information on the digital meter Module or to the recorder. I tried wiring directly after the analog Modbus of entry. Could you help I can make this claim.  Thank you

    I'm not sure I understand the question.

    DASYLab V11 SP2 delivered a completely revised MODBUS module - which DASYLab version do you use?

    Can you tell us what the device is, what kind of data and how the bytes are stored (Motorola vs Intel format).

  • How to monitor the parameters using the Protocol Modbus in LV

    Hello everyone

    I have a problem with my LabVIEW project. I have to watch my monitor settings MI4100 Power using LV 8.5 and I don't really know how. I use the modbus RTU Protocol and I am able to communicate with the instrument, but I can't understand how to monitor records.

    I have attached my comunication VI to see what I've done. Please help me if you can.

    Thanks in advance, Sylvia

    If you work with 32-bit numbers in need of two registers, then what you already do with numbers to reach work.   Read 2 registers from 256, contact numbers, and you'll have nonexercising total power.

    If you read only 1 register, then you will have a table of 1 item.  Decimate this table and joining the numbers don't make any sense.  You'd read comes directly from the registry.

    What is the description of the error for 6002?

    I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to read an address greater than 30.

  • MODBUS RTU - problem reading Holding - myPCLab Novus records

    Hello

    I've tried for a few days to read the logs at Novus myPCLab (it uses the Modbus RTU Protocol). I used the DSC module both Modbus Library without success (it seems to connect properly but cannot read).

    I need to read the given current.

    Does anyone have an idea on what am I hurt?

    Here's my vi and modbus address.

    Through the DSC

    I used the address PLC to 'HR Inicial' and 1 'St number.

    Through the library

    I used the PLC address in "start address".

    You have created a connection that is configured to use a "unit ID" 0.  Slave never devices typically use a device number 0 which is considered to be a broadcast address.

    Check the address of the slave of your device.  So make sure that you use this number.

    I guess that you communicate with a device that behaves like a slave.  If so, you must create a Modbus master in your code.  With the new modbus communication protocol Subvi, you created a slave.  A slave cannot talk to another slave.

    Similarly, in your second picture when you use the older Modbus Library, you not connected any constant to the top of the SubVI WriteRead that defines the parameters of series of devices such as RTU and address of the slave, so she takes by default to 0.  Once again, a broadcast address.

  • How can I dynamically select the shared Variable API programming data type?

    I am trying to create a configuration of open connections of variable shared using the programming API. It seems to me that the cleanest way to do would be to put one "open and check" routine in a loop, then call it for each variable in the library.

    The question that I am running is that I have different types of data in my library (to help a server Modbus i/o and data types 'boolean' and 'single' in my library.) How can I dynamically select the data type of the shared variable API?

    See the attached snipit.

    Thank you

    What I ended up doing was doing a Subvi to open, read, write, and close each data type, I use the packaged in 4 polymorphic SubVIs (polymorphic Open, read, etc...)

    Now all I have to do I drop in the polymorphic Subvi and it switches automatically to the appropriate data type

  • Problem of Lookout 6.0.2 modbus rtu?

    One of our clients has Lookout 6.0.2 communicates with several Packs of Scada CMI on wireless modems using the Modbus RTU Protocol. All of a sudden Friday night he got comm fail alarm pages on site all but one. The Modbus statistics window revealed that Lookout had stopped voting for all sites, except a single site that remained in communications. The only activity is a single site.

    He saw it queries this way for 2 hours, never to regain the normal polling cycle.

    I had him quit and relaunch Lookout and mark returned to normal and has been like this since late Friday night.

    This system has been in use for several years with very close 100% good communications sice we have deployed so far.

    It was obviously a Lookout failure, since the only approach was to quit and relaunch Lookout.

    Is there a timer for this kind of mistake?

    Is this a failure of the cbx Modbus object? (We use the plain vanilla Modbus driver)

  • [nQSError: 43119]:-the data type: 25 is not supported columns error for data type "uniqueidentifier".

    Hi all

    I am facing a problem while creating a BI reports to the SQL Server 2008 Database.

    Access to columns of data type "uniqueidentifier" I get error [nQSError: 43119]:-the data type: 25 is not supported.

    • OBIEE 11.1.1.6.11 on Linux x86_64 servers is hosted by the Services of Oracle Cloud.
    • Using last "ODBC driver for SQL server 11" for connection (also tried driver "DataDirect SQL Server 6.0 native Wire Protocol").
    • No "Uniqueidentifier" data type columns display correctly in reports.
    • I tried to change the columns of data type "Uniqueidentifier" to char (36), VARCHAR (36), VARCHAR (40), types of binary data (16) in the physical layer on various suggestions but error still there.

    Same columns questioned the SQL Developer (using third-party jTDS JDBC driver "jtds - 1.2.7 - dist") I am able to see these "uniqueidentifier" data columns. record sample:-"CB350576-FCD8-DE11-B111-002219598619".

    Please advice if this is a bug or I'm missing some property of SQL server database settings.

    Thanks in advance.

    Yes Srini,

    This type of column becomes UNKNOWN when they are imported into SPR but its strange after changing to VARCHAR (36), we can use it for joining tables without any problem.

    Only issue I'm facing now is the limitation to use in queries like calculate the total number of incidents (in my case incidentid is the primary key).

    But I've found a workaround. I am formulating a measure in MDB layer to get the number of total incidents as {CASE WHEN is NULL then 0 otherwise 1 END}.  the aggregation is defined on the sum and I get incident count works correctly.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Using film as a data type time codes?

    I work in the film, and I was hoping to use numbers to help me create quotes for a VFX project (based on cost per second). I tried to create a custom data type, and it works almost out of an important obstacle. -That, even if he is HOURS: MINUTES: seconds, DURING which it is not no matter what equivalent of FRAMES (which are usually 24, 25 or 30 depending on what video format you are working in).

    I use Adobe Premiere to export a list of lots of files under a CSV file, which are fine numbers. However, manipulate these data is - I would say - impossible without the support of the video time code. Anyone working on a solution for this? Or is there a suggestion feature to me link to forward this to the team of numbers?

    Thank you very much

    You can give your comments and suggestions to the numbers > provide comments numbers in your menu.

    But everything first, perhaps you could post more details of your problem, what your imported data looks like and what result you want.

    If the imported data includes a column for the frames I think you can convert that.  In all cases, the specifics would help.

  • Network.protocol - handler.external.magnet type = boolean value = true

    Associate files of the magnet with firefox and qbittorrent

    With firefox 3.x the following entries about: config works great.
    Network.protocol - handler.app.magnet type is string value is/usr/bin/qbittorrent
    Network.protocol - handler.external.magnet type = boolean value = true
    Network.protocol - handler.warn - external .magnet type = value boolean = false

    With 4.0 they do not, and I see the problem is that 4.0 won't accept "Network.protocol - handler.external.magnet type = boolean", because it constantly changes its type to string.

    So, how do links magnet, transferred to qbittorrent via firefox 4.0?

    I found the solution. Previously, when I right click the topic: config page and select New to create the entry of Network.protocol - handler.app.magnet , firefox would immediately follow with a second window asking the access path to the torrent app and qbittorrent/usr/bin/qbittorrent already entered for me (who tells me that firefox has already known qbittorrent is the application to use). I click on OK, and firefox would be error when I clicked on a link magnet.

    This time, I deleted the default/usr/bin/qbittorrent, then pasted the same exact value into the box and click OK. And now it works. The only difference between the two methods; in the method that fails, the path/usr/bin/qbittorrent is highlighted when I click OK, in the method that works, the path is not highlighted.

  • Work with the first HP data types?

    I'm trying to get a clear understanding of the data types of HP Premium so that I can better exploit feature internal rather than copy and paste, edit, or having to retype. However, I can't find a tutorial, guide to style "quick start" or comprehensive information on this subject anywhere. Finally, I would like to do things like the following:

    (NOTE: I only list these questions in order to better explain what I'm looking for.) "There ARE no need to answer.)

    • Pass a list of expressions (sometimes solve() returns a list) in a function such as unapply() and run it on each item, rather than interpret the list as parameters
    • Precede the value of formula 1, "Y =" and then save the result in V1
    • Understanding type (x), type (X) and ('X') - I understand that X is a floating point number; x and 'X' they return all two DOM_IDENT, but are in that they also treated the calls function?  Or 'X' becomes X and then treated as a float value?
    • Is there a better way than unapply(), to replace by X-> x to a function, a function of return?
      • For example if: F1 = X-> Sin (x)
      • NOT a function: the seizure of F1 (x) returns the expression: Sin (x)
      • IS a function: unapply entry (F1 (x), x) returns the function: x-> Sin (x)

    Is anyone know if such a guide or tutorial exist, and if so, could you please point me to it?

  • Simulink Inport/Outport data types

    I searched for a while and I am unable to find documentation about what types of data I need to use the inports, outport, settings and in my Simulink models.

    Is there some specific types of data that are, or are not supported?  How VeriStand to determine how to coerce data to send the model?  Also, I was under heard VeriStand uses doubles for everything but then I saw a post that says he uses of I64.

    Any clarification would be much appreciated.

    VeriStand 2013 SP1 (probably upgraded to 2016 in next year if it's relevant)

    MATLAB 2010 b and MATLAB 2012 b (currently)

    > Are there types of specific data that are, or are not supported?

    I don't remember there being any limitation of types beyond what is stated in the considerations help document.

    Considerations relating to the integration of The MathWorks, Inc. Simulink® software models (model Interface T...

    The big hiccup I remember wasn't mainly with types of configurations and data bus.

    IIRC, you can choose any numeric type desired in Simulink. The structure of the model interface that uses VeriStand will handle any type and convert it to double so that it can be consumed by the VeriStand engine.

    > How VeriStand to determine how to coerce data to send the model?

    I think the way it works is that when VeriStand interacts with the Simulink model, it gets a list and information (pointer, data type) of inports, remote villages and settings. Thus, it can capture data from the model (because it has the pointer), and it can cast its data type (because he knows the type) duplicate. If you look at the example model model interface on line 212 it might help to make things more clear on how this could work.

    C:\VeriStand\2016\ModelInterface\custom\examples\template.c

    Double USER_GetValueByDataType (void * ptr, int32_t subindex, int32_t type)
    {
    switch (type)
    {
    case 0:
    {
    / * double * /.
    (double) return (((double *) ptr) [subindex]);
    }
    case 1:
    {
    / * only * /.
    (double) return (((float *) ptr) [subindex]);
    }
    }

    / * return NaN, ok for vxworks and pharlap * /.
    uint32_t nan [2] = {0xFFFFFFFF, 0xFFFFFFFF};
    return *(double*) nan;
    }

    I'm guessing that the full implementation of which uses VeriStand is much more complex, but I think that the idea is the same.

    > Also, I was under heard VeriStand uses doubles for everything but then I saw a post that says he uses of I64.

    VeriStand engine uses indeed of all double rooms.

    You happen to remember this post and you can share the link? I'd be curious to see where this is said and in what context.

  • Custom data type

    We use a custom data type container and add variables to use in the sequence inhabitants.

    It seems that the field of the local variable names having to match domain names that they have seized originally in the custom data type container.

    We want to reuse the custom several times in the sequence container for data type and would like to have descriptive field names of their use, which changes throughout the sequence.

    Is it possible to just rename the names of the fields of a local variable is of the type, data type container custom, while maintaining the field names the original custom data type container?

    With the help of TestStand 2013

    Hi CC57,

    I also recommend trying a templateVariable. You can use this to create a container with a particular name that you can copy in various places in the variable pane and change the names of the properties of confined there.
